This is probably covered in some faq out there but I am old, grumpy and very lazy so I'll just ask and expect you lot to be nice to old folks and help me cross the street :)
Some may remember that I usually don't play online because I pretty much hate most of the so called experience. Hence I am using the free months that came with my 360 whenever I feel the need to refresh my memory about why I hate online play so much.
With that in mind the question, right now, is more educational in nature but the answer could still swing me one way or another. If I connect my offline profile to live, every achievement and savegame made using this GT is lost, correct ? It won't transfer any offline changes to a new online profile, at all ?
It will, however, transfer changes if the profile is already registered meaning that at the time the changes occured connectivity was lost. Correct so far ?
Would it be possible to somehow transfer savegames and achievements (not so worried about the latter) from the offline profile to an online profile, for example by deleting one online profile locally and renaming the offline profile to the previously deleted online profile, then connect that one to live ?
Right now this is more academical in nature because I dislike XBL, simple as that. But there are a bunch of titles coming that have a decent chance of finally getting me to buy a gold subscription. However, should I choose to make the transition it would certainly be a lot nicer to keep my savegames and not beeing able to do that would be another good reason not to spend the 55 bucks.
So if anyone knows exactly what can and can't be done with online/offline profiles I would appreciate some explaining :) I'll let you chainsaw my Flutterscrotch too :)
