I think I know the answer to this already, but wanted confirmation. So if there's anything not accurate below or that I'm missing, please let me know.

It's my understanding that the only way to get Halo 2 to do splitscreen with one player on the top half of the screen and the other on the bottom (screen horizontally split) is to put the Xbox into a non-widescreen mode. And there's no way to do a non-widescreen 720p mode with the 360, so therefore there's no way to do horizontally-split splitscreen multiplayer in 720p (only 480P).

Am I right?

Yes, you have to take it out of 720/1080 and put in in 480 "normal" resolution.

Wow this is an old thread.

Anybody know if this will be addressed in halo 3 so we don't have to have a vertically split in HD? (you see so much more when the screen is split horizontally)
