Soryy matey, looks like you'll be seeing three red lights soon. I'd order the labels now to ship it.

In Europe they send a new one directly without having to return first if it's the 3rd time or more :P

I had that once with Viva Piniata and PGR3.

But the disks did have small hairline scratches so I just got my local retailer to give the disks a polish and they work fine now.

When the screen freezes do strange lines and blocks appear everywhere? if they do then it means you console is definately on its way out.

If it just freezes as in the screen just locks, and you can't press any buttons on your pad - that happens from time to time. Something you'll get used too.

while playing dead rising this weekend, after a few solid hours of gaming (6+), i went into some area and everything got very slow, i got a refresh line going up my screen, and it seemed like it was dying... then i backed out of the area, let the system calm a second, and walked forward once again.. everything went fine.

about an hour later during a load scene it froze. i reset the box and everything worked fine.

the next day everything was fine still. i hope my 360 is not on the way out =/.

I am on my 2nd 360. First one lasted 6 months, and it crooked this summer. I am actually hoping my refurb will die because one of the fans has a bearing on it that makes an annoying humming noise. If it doesn't croke soon I am just going to send it back and tell them I can't stand these fans. It is even noising whenever it is in standby charging my controller for crying out loud.

Here is a recording I made of it. *sorry bad quality* Don't listen to the noise that sounds like air listen to the humming noise in the background. http://media.putfile.com/360noise
That doesn't really show what I am hearing that well, because of the horrendous audio quality. But it was the best I could get lol.

Freezing is supposedly a sign that the Ring of Red is about to unleash its fear upon you. Never happened to mine though, no freezing and was working as it was from day one until the update. Man, I miss my 360.

I recently took my 360 to a hotel when i went out of town(yes i'm a junkie) haha
anyways my internet connection there was total crap. highspeeds but very unreliable connection. almost everytime while playing gears my box would lock up.
the only difference between home and the hotel was the connection. cause now that im back at home on my connection im not having any troubles.
and thats what it would do. no funny lines on screen. just frozen and I couldn't do anything. It may still be your box but there is always hoping its something like that.
And if you have cable internet you shouldn't have any hiccups on your connection. If you do then you need to have someone from the cable company come out and fix the problem.
Good luck

Just make sure to not block those fan ports while you are "playing" your 360 lol.;)

Yeah, if you let those heat vents get covered while you're updating that firmware, something could blow up in your eye.

My first 360 lasted probably 6 months, it had a lot of problems reading discs from the begging and would bring me to some white screen with endless small print. This problem got worse and worse until the ring of fire bit me in the ass.
Not long at all after I received my replacement consol I started getting a the disc read error, it even happened with new discs, luckily it doesn't happen often and rarely impedes upon my longer GOW sessions. I'm hoping that this isn't the beginning of the end for #2.

Let's see

You bought Lost Planet the game with lots of snow and -179 degrees celcius

And your 360 started to freeze...

Hhhmmmm what could be the connection there? ;-)

If you have had the console consistently crashing on you then I think your 360 is dying. when you eventually get ROD you will still be under warranty then phone MS, get your ref no. then take your console to the store you got it from or take it to the distributor with your proof of purchase and get a replacement. that is how it works in South Africa, not too sure about other countries but you might to give it a try as it could work
