Microsoft screws Europeans [Archive]

Hello! I live in Sweden (europe) and think that microsoft neglects us when it comes to marketplace content. I understand the legal problems (gone to lawschool)but thats no excuse not to even put up new movie trailers once in a while. Weve been having like four trailers (the same) for almost a year. I also cant understand the slow pace for getting deals on content? Movie companies want to make money. It feels like microsoft doesnt relly care about us outside usa. Soon i will cancel my xbox 360 gold account if nothing happens. Might even buy ps 3 depending on what content they put out for europe in the future.

Yeah, what you say is true, but it's not limited to Microsoft or Xbox 360. For movie companies we've always been a bottom-rank territory here. "Too hard to localize" etc. blahblah. Same with Video Marketplace, it's the movie studios putting a stop on us using US accounts for that, not MS.

I Know that its not all just Microsoft but i am quite sure that they could do a lot more and faster to make deals with providers in Europe. and thats probably because the American market is more important to them. Big mistake if Sony gets decent downloadable stuff out in the future. People that feels that content for download is important might buy ps 3 instead. Otherwise i really love my xbox. I have had alot of fun with it. I think downloading stuff is the future to get hd media. Im really in to home theater thats why i am really concernd about this

Yeah I would like the HD video download service also now in Europe.

But I am glad they say IPTV will come at the end of this year in Europe also, not a year after that and USA first.

Ah well, Sony is screwing Europe more, so you're still best off with MS/360.

The PS3 you get the full version in Japan/USA and the retarded version in Europe and even pay more (in UK/Ireland a LOT more), plus they don't have so many demo's of games to be able to download as on the 360. Not to speak about the shitty online backup and service from Sony why they miss out online features on multiple games (Virtua Fighter, Virtua Tennis, less featurues in MLB 2k7 etc.)

well I use my xbox gold account for playing games so I couldn't care less if theres movie content or not.

Go buy a PS3 and see if its any different

exactly, who cares about film trailers...we all have computers and the net...wow they arnt in HD...oh no, is it really that much of an issue? i know microsoft want the 360 to be the "entertainment hub of your household" but how many people really care about that? 360 is for playing top quailty games...and live is for playing top quality games with other people from all over the world, and thats definatly good enough for me

I fell the same way about how in Canada we get screwed all the time.

I noticed that with my US account, I can send messages to my Xbox 360 friends via MSN messenger, but this option is disabled everywhere else. Also missing:

Video Marketplace
Xbox Live Diamond Card
IPTV
Xbox 360 Reward Contest
Numerous free themes and picture packs.....
etc...

The only thing we do get before you, is equal launch dates with the US. I think that is the minimum we deserve for having to put up with them as neighbours :P

Activate the tabs, you'll notice the Xbox 360 tab where you can see your friends list from within messenger

wellall i use my 360 for is playing games and i only use it as a dvd machine if my brother is fagging around watching movies on my surround sound so i barely use the movie download also i have a lovefilm thiny.
