I was reading the "What are some GOOD multiplayer games for XBL..." thread at http://forum.xboxic.com/showthread.php?t=1341 and thought I'd ask a slightly different question:

What are some of your favourite split-screen co-op games for the 360? Ie the games you and buddies can sit down on the couch and play together and have a blast with.

My friend and I do a 360 night every thursday, and we're just about through GoW so we need something new to play since Halo 3 isn't out for a loooong time still. :)

Thanks....

Halo 1 is still amazing, as is number 2.

I never played it but I heard that Splinter cell 3 has a rather brilliant Co op play and the same for Double agent where you need to help out each other. Also try a few arcade games that have co op like Contra happening at the same time.

Hmm, maybe I'll give Double Agent a rental then....

As for the Halos, my buddy & I just did Halo 2 before GoW, and he beat Halo 1 *many* times on each difficulty back when it first came out.

Thanks for the tips.

Lego star wars is brilliant, (doesn't support co-op over live afaik), ghost recon aw has great co-op (live and split screen) as well, rainbow six vegas co-op (2 player split screen or 4 player live) is pretty fun but not very feature full in the way that its presented, no story information (so if you've never beaten it on single player you might be a little lost with whats going on) and it just feels like a tacked on feature but it works great and is really fun. GRAW2 is going to have an extended co-op campaign as well (compared to the first one).

I've played Splinter Cell: Double Agent and I don't remember seeing any co-op features in that game ...

Ph sorry my bad because I remembered how there was a 2 spy helping mode on splinter Cell 3 so I got Double Agent too recently and I though it could be done with Spies and prisioners. :P

Halo 2, Perfect Dark Zero (with bots too), Call of Duty 2, Gears of War

Shame Crackdown doesn't have split-screen & I'm very dissapointed Shadowrun won't!!

Sorry, but Shadowrun is going to be the biggest load of shit to come out since New Rally X.

COD2 doesn't have split screen CO-OP, it does have 4 player split screen multilplayer, I believe the same goes for PDZ but I haven't played it enough to know.

PDZ has 2 player splitscreen coop for sure. And although the story and campaign sucked cocks, I had bigtime fun coopping it with me carrying the n00bstick and a friend who didn't know shit about the game spraying around with the M16 :P

seconded.

GRAW has split screen co op but it's not terribly good, there are really more xbox 1 games with good co op modes because LIVE wasn't as prevalent then.
