Anyone out there with a 360 picked up a PS3 yet?

Yup i got one.

First things first, it's a device of beauty when standing next to the 360 ( a little bigger but not much) it looks like it cost a fortune.

Secondly erm i can't put Motorstorm down to tell you about anything else yet, it's just to damn good, online is a crack as well.

I will try Resistance: Fall of Man after i've drunk the coffee i am drinking while typing this.

Oh and for anyone thinking this is stupidly overpriced, i traded in my old PS2 which i had the receipt for in the box, OMG i payed £480 for it with the games, pads,memory card and leads. I payed £515 for my PS3 with games,pads,leads,Extended warranty and trade in from PS2, plus i got £30 in reward points so er £485 only a fiver more than i payed for a PS2.

Right now to go and play Resistance.

I'm highly curious about what you think of Resistance :)

Motorstorm is very cool indeed, just a shame that the "drive however and wherever you want" is too much "as long as it's forward following the road".

Resistance is very good, i wasn't expecting alot mind after reading reviews, i have played the first 4-5 levels of the single player game and am really enjoying it. Graphically if this is what they can get out of the PS3 with their first games i am impressed sometimes its mighty impressive other times just very good. On the 2nd or 3rd levels you meet a alien(Chimera in this game) who grabs hold of you, to shake them off you shake the pad, odd very odd but i like it.

Now Multiplayer is a different thing all together, WOW is all i can say, this is what online gaming is about for me. 40 player deathmatch is were it's at for me, totally furious and insane fun. Never a dull second ALWAYS someone to kill in front of you. I haven't tried any other of the online modes yet there seems to be quite alot (team deathmatch, capture the flag, assault and some others) as i can't stop playing the 40 player deathmatch carnage, which seems to be lag free.

I have a PS3 now too. Very pleased.....Lotus if its ok I will add u to my 'buddies list' for some Motorstorm and Resistance!!!

Yup add me dude. Although not got a headset yet, i will order one in next few days. The choice is bewildering, i want to try on a few to see whats the most comfortable.

Wow Nice one dudes hope you have fun on motorstorm and resistance , both look like quality games. Any of you got Virtua fighter 5 or Tennis 3 because I played Fighter on friday and it was amazing, shame SEGA did not add any online playability.

To be honest online with fighting games sucks, as timing is absolutely everything even the slightest ping time can screw it up. I brought DOA4 for my Xbox360 and thought online play was nothing short of a joke due to the ping times. I will get VF5 this week sometime when i get paid.

I actually really liked DOA 4 but mainly because I seemed to be so good at countering online but I know what you mean when the room gets laggy.

I bet you will like virtua fighter but the only flaw I found was that moving was rather slow compared to number 2 and 3. Also the moves still seem to be the same which could have been improved from earlier versions.

I've had my PS3 for a few weeks now. Haven't had an urge to play any PS3 games besides Resistance which I only think is above average, but nothing spectacular [though I'd agree online with it is above and beyond some 360 games].

I found out last night one thing the PS3 does that Xbox360 doesn't do (although it could) is that my PS3 will happily play er.. ahem home made DvD's. A added bonus for me as it makes them look a lot better than my ageing DvD player. Nice one Sony.

Pleased with your new purchase then........do you think its going to better the 360 long term? I can't beleive how quiet it is.....also how do you find out which usb/bluetooth headsets are PS3 compatible?

Very pleased with it. Long term is impossible to predict but if i was forced to put money on which will sell more at this stage in the game, i would put my money on the PS3. Yeah it is very quiet compared to the 360, the Dvd drive in particular is totally silent. As for headsets, ALL bluetooth headsets are compatible, although go for bluetooth v2.0 as it's better quality, i think the same goes for USB headsets as well although i am not 100% sure on that, so check before you buy. I will stick with bluetooth as i need one for my mobile phone anyways with the new laws just brought in and i don't want any wires hanging from my console.

PS. whats your PS3 user name?

Should get a headset today? Is it only Resistance that is voice compat?
I am sure I heard people talking in Motorstorm......how awesome is Resistance online....!
What other PS3 games did you get?

I haven't heard anyone talking in Motorstorm, it doesn't say voice compatible on the box, as for Resistance what a crack online it is, i must try some of the other game modes soon, i can't stop playing deathmatch at the moment. I only got those two games, although i will get VF5 sometime this week.

Picked up one on launch day as well together with Motorstorm. Man that game really is tons of fun. BD movies (Black Hawk Down & Hostel) look absolutely stunning @1080p. Too bad there aren’t that much movies around at the moment though.
Tried the RFOM demo, but wasn’t too impressed by that. Mainly cause I was struggling with the controls a lot. The symmetrical layout of the SIXAXIS controller feels kind of unnatural while playing an fps imo, but maybe it just takes some more time getting used to. I’m surprised nobody mentioned the GT HD demo. Damn, that game must have the best looking car models I’ve ever seen in a videogame. Unfortunately there’s only one track to try em out on. I’m very curious how FM2 will compare to GT in terms of looks and vehicle handling.

Biggest letdown of the PS3 so far… I have to wait at least a year until GT5 hits the shelves.

Oh, and feel free to add me if you want to goof around in the mud.

I totally agree i've played this almost as much as Motorstorm and RFOM, i was (as of last night anyway) ranked 13th in the world on Drift Trial with the Lotus 111r in forward mode.

If Forza 2 is half the game this GT-HD is then i will be a happy man.
