Indeed, or ... sort of.

But unfortunately, it's not one of the best things ever ... more like immense pleasure for the hardcore S&M freaks among gamers. I guess ppl play it because there simply isn't anything else like it and from what I hear the developers pretty much abandoned the product and it's just a "small crew" keeping it running while ppl still pay and play.

With that beeing said I'd love a good, console based persistant space combat/exploration/trading game/sim/rpg. <-- left any important genre out ? :D
