Simple question here, I hope.

I'll have a 360.

My girlfriend has a regular Xbox.

We want to play together over Live.

Is that possible?

If the game works on your 360, yes.

Why wouldn't you just put it in and see?

An Xbox game like Halo 2 would work. An Xbox 360 game obviously wouldn't work.

Here are, I'll give you a direct answer.

If the original Xbox game you are both wanting to play is backwards compatible on the Xbox 360, then yes - You can both play the same game.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it. We're not going to play Gears of War obviously. We both have Halo 2 and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Among a few others.

Why wouldn't you just put it in and see?

I'm not sure I understand your question. I wasn't sure if the two Xbox Lives could connect to eachother. And I wanted to make sure that before we went ahead and bought Live for her, that they could connect.

Thanks again. :)

I think they thought (as i did when reading your post) that you already had both connections to live up and running so you had the ability to just stick the disks in and find each other.

It's a good question actually, I'm not sure I've ever seen any official docs on this.

I only own one original xbox game...(I bought an xbox when it came out...but took it back same day cos it crashed and never got it replaced...anyway)

When you put an xbox game into a 360 console...it keeps you signed out of Live so unless it's Halo 2 I think...none work

wtf? All live games work with both. (if it's compatible.)

Yeah, youre still connected to live but you appear offline to your friends, it happened to be while i was playing battlefront II online on 360, you can play online just none of your friends know youre online

Ahhh, I see, I guess I should've explained a little more.

No official documentation, no, but I did get an e-mail from customer support (two weeks after I sent it) telling me that we could do it. They must think that it's common sense. Then again, they're not the ones paying.
