Halo 2 Maps Dropped! Who Cares??

While I write this, the new Halo2 maps will drop on ya! With the introduction into the playlists next week (4/24).
The new maps are re-makes of old favorites- (for those fans of Halo: CE) Hang 'em High renamed Tombstone and Derelict which is titled Desolation. (http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=news&cid=12359)
Is this going to drive anyone to dust off ye 'ol Halo2 disc, or have you been playing it consistently like me?

I think the Price is quite reasonable seeing as I paid for each map release the day they came out last round. The only bad thing is Friday night, the ATM machine ate my visa checkcard ARGGHH now I gotta get one of those pre-paid ones from the grocery store after work8)7

Halo 2 will always be one of the best FPS's ever made, I'm actuallyg oing through 1 player atm to re-ignite my memory of the storyline (as the first time I went through I got wasted hardcore and my bro and mate completed it in co-op.)

i dont play halo 2 on-line mainly cos i suck and get own'd everyone else i play have played several 100/1000 hrs and are to good or u get the other wankers who know where all the spawns are and sit there with a shotgun or with the sniper rifle waiting for u :'(

It has nothing to do with those two games. However, Halo 2 rocks in online multiplay. Don't listen to Curry nor Nino, they just cannot recongnize a good game :+

Halo 2 would cost you around 15,- now, so pick it up and play it. If you've got Crackdown you can play the Beta from the 16th on.

I had planned on leaving work early today for just this reason.

Bungie mentioned (on their website) that they have some new surprises for the cheaters. I friggin hope so. Get those turds off this game and it is certainly a top title.
The reason that so many hate it is because:

a - They're no good.
b - Too much cheating <------ (why I stopped playing online for a LONG time)
c - Its 'cool' to hate things that the mainstream enjoy.
d - They really suck.
e - Too hard to mute idiots/children etc.

If they can clean up the cheaters/haxors for Halo 3 then theres no reason why it won't be a good game.

A game that break new ground in terms of visuals for a console (Halo:CE) and a game that breaks ground for the Live service (Halo 2) are hated mainly because so many others enjoy it.

I'll be playing tonight, I've been practicing my skills the last few weeks, haha. The new update seems to work I guess, I heard that it somehow finds out who is about to cheat before the game launches, kicks that person out, and then restarts the countdown at stage 1.

The cheater filter seems to be working brilliantly, I usually play unraked Twat, I mean Swat games, not too many cheaters when you play unranked. However the cheater effect is mostly what made me stop playing Gears as well.

The Maps are freaking sweet!!! I was having WICKED flashbacks running through these levels. They really made me all sentimental for Halo: CE, so sentimental that I had to load up me ole Xbox.

They play almost identical to their predecessors, along with some awesome new features, Air lifts etc...

I can't wait to play some capture the flag on Hang em High, shit, What ever they want to call these new maps they'll always be Hang em High and Derelict ("my own balls, thank you very much") to me!

Hit me up with some invites if you wanna get some custom games going... I've only played with 4 people on the map and I want more carnage!>:)

So on bungie.net they're saying that due to the problems a lot of people had d/l the new maps they've decided to hold off on the updated playlists and stuff. This should be happeing some time this week they now say. Let's hope its sooner rather than later.

Ever since I saw the new Zanzibar for H3 I've been playing H2 again and good lord this is still such a great game. Can't wait for matchmaknig on the new maps and can't wait for H3 beta in jsut about 2 1/2 weeks.:D :9~ :9~ :D

Online fared a little better but again, just became mind numbingly tedious and boring. I certainly hope there are a few more modes to enjoy this time round and people WILLING to play them. Most people go for CTF (whatever, done that 1000 times already) and hardly ever find people playing KotH or that game where you hold onto the skull for a certain amount of time. I'm not crap at the game, more like above average, but I also hate cheaters and the screaming kids shouting Fag/Faggot every time they get killed.

I've only played one match of Halo 2 MP but the fact that there's BXR bullshit going on + the fact that you spawn with an SMG in Halo 2 makes Halo 3 seem like the winner. Why, is there anyone that prefers Halo 2 over the Beta?

I've read forum topics with nerds defending BXR and BXB stuff 'because MLG players use it too' and 'because it requires skills'. Frankie's response on the issue was quite clear:

People, and I mean all people, not just MLG players, who use the glitches, have an inherent, unplanned advantage. If everyone in the game agrees it is fair, then have at it and enjoy. This is common in tournaments where the rules are known to all.

If the other players do not agree, or do not know about it, then it is cheating. And everybody knows it is. So you're advocating cheating because it is fun for the cheats.

Bungie couldn't take them out of Halo 2 without rewriting a substantial part of the game, I hope Halo3 doesn't suffer from the problem.

The button glitches require no skill. The only reason people fail to do them in combat is similar to active reload in Gears; when you're under pressure, failing the reload can happen and you have to wait 10 seconds for your sniper rifle to reload.

I have to say - Halo2 Campaign is shit !

I put this in and could only play one level. I hated it - really thought it was crap, but this hasn't hindered my expectations of Halo3. I guess whenever this was released years ago it was deemed a gaming works of art, but I can't feast my eyes over last gen graphics! In fact I think Goldeneye on the N64 was far better than this.
