In an ideal world, I'd like to see Halo 3 as multiplayer-only (perhaps with bots for offline play). The story mode isn't that good, most of the single-player maps are very repetitive (not quite as bad as Halo 1, but still close), and the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack showed that there's some really imaginative stuff still going on in the community.

Plus Halo 2's still going strong because it's one of the best online multiplayer console FPS's ever, but who honestly has touched the singleplayer in the last year?

Okay, those of you guys out there who are a part of the roosterteeth community may be hearing some old news, but heres a real brief gist:

A friend of mine took a 3d model of the milky way. then, he took some known info from the halo games and books and ran a little program:

he thought that by guessing, he could know where the Ark was, and that (in my opinion, this is the *whoa* moment...) the ark, from bible references, is a vessel used to escape the blast of the halos 100,000 years ago. so, he plotted 7 points on the 3d galaxy, and gave them a blast radius of 25,000 LY, the range of the halos blast. in the beginning, the patterns were overlapping, whinch wasnt good. so, by tweaking it a bit, and changing the positions, he came up with the perfect positions.

gasp, there's a cool little point, that there was only one, teeny, tiny little point in the galaxy, in the system Sol, right where earth is, a "blind spot" if you will.

which TOTALLY screams to me that the ark is either here or on Luna (the actual name of our moon)

I think I'm the only one, who's really looking forward to H3 _o_ Halo 1 and 2 where both great, i still play Halo 2 MP many many times, and I hope Halo 3 MP is as good as Halo 2 _o_.

Seriously, the system link mode is so great! If you get to a group of friends together (like 8 or something), who have all played it many, many times, know the maps out of there head, all the sniper spots, you REALLY have chaos all the time! (Hint: CTF on Headlong, Human weapons _o_ ) From acctually screaming and jumping out of you chair if the flag is nearly scored and someone is proffessionally shot down >:) (you know, like 1 cm from the scoring place :P)

I'm looking forward to it too, but not for the same reasons. I'm only looking forward to it because it's a game Microsoft put a lot of money into. Halo 1 & 2 weren't that interesting, especially the single player part was kinda crappy. The multiplayer however was pretty well done. So let's bring on that expensive piece of software called halo 3.

Halo 1 ruled bigtime. It was one of my first games on the xbox and I played it until my eyes couldn't handle it anymore (and it was light out). Aahhhh remember those days Messiah?

Anyways. I really, REALLY liked that one, although it got really repetitive at times, I had a great time. But them the sequel happend :N Haven't played it online, so I can't really judge the game because of that. But come on, what in the name of ZEUS was that?

I surely hope that H3 will rock, bigtime. But I'm gonna sit it out and check the demo (if it will be on marketplace, ofcourse) first before I buy it!

How can you say this? Halo is one of the most critically acclaimed series in gaming history. The gameplay is solid, and I honestly like the story mode, the storyline is quite interesting. But dude, Halo is one of the best games to touch a console _o_ .

No he wasn't. And I agree with him, Halo isn't that good. It's just another shooter, maybe it was the first one with vehicles. But the story is kinda boring and repetitive. The only thing that's technically well done is the multiplayer, because it works so well if you compare it to something like Call of Duty 2 (:X ). But i can fully understand if someone doesn't like the whole setting of the game, the weapons, the scenery etc.. That makes you toss the game in a corner :)

Like Rival says I wasn't :) I somehow missed the major hype about the game and without hype it was.... just another shooter. CoD2 has atmosphere, GRAW has atmosphere, HL2 has atmosphere. I played those games to shreds (or am still in the case of GRAW). Halo just didn't grip me, it was 'just another shooter' to me in the category of Daikatana, Doom 3 and Far Cry that just didn't have 'it' for me.

It's a good thing tastes differ :)

I don't think it was "just another shooter". How can you possible say that Halo 1 had no atmosphere? Sure it got repetitive, I agree. But this doesn't make it a bad game. I loved the action in it, I did like the weapons, the characters (humans as well as the aliens) and especially the outdoor levels.

Plus I think some opinions about Halo are a little jaded because of all of the great games that have been released since. You really need to judge Halo based on the games that were available (and on the horizon) when it was released. I mean Halo really raised the bar for video games as we know them. Before Halo the industry was pretty hit or miss. Besides, Halo really helped shape multiplayer games (outside of the PC market). People are still having deathmatch parties with this title!

Like I said, good thing tastes differ :) I'll probably end up buying Halo 3 for the heck of it anyway, and I may even like it a damn lot. Who knows :)

now, along the line of halo 3, there are 3 things (mainly) and 7 things (minor little sumbitches) that i hope bungie fixed.

the story - tie up the crappy ending from H2...

the AI - ever notice that the 'advenced' AI can be extremely faulty at times?

the weapon selection - despite the diversity, they all suck in my book. Id trade either rifle for a gun from GRAW anytime. ITS THE FUTURE - MAKE BETTER GUNS!!!

better MP - already great, but it lacks that flair, yknow what i mean?

better coop - like how they have in PDZ, with 2 different chars (ex: one plays as MC, the other arbiter, or marine, etc...)

better vehicles - besides the ghost, they all suck, especially the 'shee, which was severly downgraded since halo 1

bring back the HE pistol - because nothing says 'pistol bitch' like getting sniped from accross a level with a freakin pistol...

more MP levels - include the H1 and H2 maps, along with the MMP, and the newer versions for H3... plus a few more for good measure. maybe even a map editor...

kill off cortana - i dont like a back seat driver in my car, so why the fork would i want a back seat bitch in my head/helmet? anyway, she goes all rogue... only logical...

The flood were a really cool twist I think, I am going to get some flair about this I know, but...

If you just shot there arms off on Halo 1, they would just walk around with you, then you could just beat them to a bloody pulp on the floor, it was great!

the driver should be able to switch in between ormal and frist person view by clicking the right t-stick.

This was the Very 1st Halo 3 thread made, the other one was in fact a Beta Thread originally and as rules are rules :P - I thought I would post my comments in the 1st thread as 2nd threads lately get Deleted ;)
