What was w/ Harry Osborne? Looked like he got a concussion after his fall, literally, the actor got a concussion, and noone on the set realized it. He acted like a downs syndrome child the entire rest of the movie.
The American Flag part at the end? Ridiculous. The telling the story thru a ticker on a new york city sign: horrible. i dont want text exposition, i want the movie to not suck... the blatant <3 NY crap, annoying and getting old.

Respect is a two way street. Sam Raimi did not respect the viewing public when making this movie. He treated them as 7yr old USA fanbois, and played to all their desires. I do not respect Sam Raimi.

If you thought Xmen 3 was crap compared to the first two, don't see Spiderman 3, it's a huge letdown, and by an hour and a half in you'll wish it was over.

Ok all...after playing for over an hour, here is what I think of the game.

Graphics:
Spiderman is Amazing....everything is OK at best. The city looks nice, but not as detailed or alive as Crackdown. Spiderman's webbing is just sad.

Controls:
Very easy to learn. If you played Spiderman 2, you will be right at home. I did not have much trouble controlling Spiderman from building to building in the city. The only problem I did have was controlling him in the Skydive activity.

Sound:
This OK, but again, not much use of surround sound. They must have programmed sound for the consoles that only support Stereo (looking at you Gamecube and Wii). The game does sound a bit empty in surround sound. Good thing I have a THX receiver that can pump stereo through 7.1 speakers.

The good:
I do like the sandbox format. You have a choice of what you would like to do next. You can either perform missions, participate in activities, and just go and fight crime. Complete the various tasks will provide you with enhanced powers, that can help in other parts of the game.

Good variety of achievements, some who look downright difficult.

The bad:
Since this game is cross platform, I could not shake the feeling that the game was developed for the weakest console out there, with a gloss of shiny next-gen paint on Spiderman for Xbox 360 and PS3, but all else reaks of mediocracy.

Another bad spot in this game was camera controls. Most times, the camera is correct for the scene at hand, but when you try jumping or swingin in a tight spots, your head will spin as the camera will change angles many times per second.

Conclusion:
This game will be fun for Spiderman fanatics, but if you have a tight game budget, and unsure of this title, then rent it first.

A couple points to raise quickly, I never played Spider-man 2 on the xbox, and I haven't seen Spider-man 3 yet!!!

Right after an Hours play, Have done 4 missions there are a total of 42,

Graphics would give a 7 = It is a fairly accurate recreation of New York (which stops at the Manhattan Bridge) the buildings are detailed but only when u are very close to them did not have any load times between one part of the city and another which is good but also to be expected with "next" gen games I have rated the graphics generously compared to screenshots and In-game footage of "real" Next gen games i.e Gow and Too-human, this game isnt very nice but is better than most games which have been scaled up from last gen focusing mainly on The Godfather the graphics are better. Cut-sceens are ok they are all using the in game engine rather than pre-rendered so its not a great switch between them and gameplay like I found in Marvel: UA you can tell who is who, unfortunatly most of the graphic work seems to have been left for the outside world go into the Daily Bugle and its another story I would rate these graphics with a harsher 5 out of 10 then they are boring feel very flat and very rushed... Spiderman looks good he has definitely had the most more done on him and very accurate (but still not great) the streets have people in them and cars fill the streets which is nice the city feels alive which adds to the "realism" of the game, again chracther models have been increased people look like better I didnt spend much time on the Ground (mainly web swinging) but didn't get any reaction from the NPC's apart from and ouch if u hit them when web swinging which I feel let the game down because ur supposed to be a super hero and people don't register you which is something The Godfather did (even though quite annoying after a while)

Camera Control= ok I'm not gonna give this a mark out of 10 purely because it was only ok there are a few problems with it but I never really played the previous game so I cannot say its better worse or the same. I found a few problems when crawling up the wall the angles were not very helpful although reminded me of when Peter firsts crawls up the wall in Spider-man. A couple times I was quicker than the camera and would end up swinging or looking in a wrong direction but other than that it mainly behaved

Voice Acting= It uses the main cast as much as it can with Bruce Campbell as narrator he is good sarcastic and makes a few Matrix references it adds an air of lightness to the game. Tobey Macquire, and most of the main cast (not sure about Kirsten Dunst) reprise their roles so its good in that respect.

Combat Controls= 7 again its a bit of a button mash fest which is really what u expect doing air combos is good fun and I'm sure they will feel more natural when I have played the game longer. The camera was as I mentioned before slower than I was a few times in Combat so I got hit a few more times than I should have :P

The Mini Map= 8 I really like this feature like a top down map showes you where you are and is very easy to use (use the bumper buttons to find the next mission) also has the missions set out into sub-groups to again make it easier to find different things to do.

So quick over view I will give the 1st hour I played the game about 7 the interactive cutscenes reminded me of a mix between Tomb Raider Legend and Marvel: UA and I can imagine that later on in the game will cause many restarts but other wise the game seems fun and a Marvel/Spider-man fan will enjoy this alot and the Achievements will keep me coming back to this game

I'm being generous today and slightly Fanboish, so don't flame me if you hate this game just IMHO its a good game

I was expecting a not-too-intelligent action flick and I got what I expected (plus a boring romance sidestory but whatev). Same goes for X3, liked that as well, sorry. I agree with the Harry Osborne comment though, his acting sucked and so did some of Toby's during the parts where he was infected by the symbiot. The scenes where he was dancing in the street or in that bar with Stacy to get back at MJ were fucking stupid. But I didnt expect top-class acting and I wasnt disappointed when I didnt get it. The action bits were awesome and those were the reasons I bought my ticket in the first place.

We're probably gonna have this same discussion when Bayformers is released btw :P

Nope no Multiplayer there will be DLC and some Xbox Live Gold and Silver Membership stuff but I don't really know what that will be, would have been nice to have like Venom/Black Suit Spider-man vs Red Suit Spider-man races and sky dives but u really couldn't do more than that, Its worth a buy if u have some free time and want a new game but I wouldn't say its a must buy game more for the Fan bois and younger gamer really...

The movie wasn't the best of the three but a few points to consider:

1 - It was actually marketed at kids. Yes, we all love Sipey, but face it, I'm not buying the lunch box and matching pajamas. My 4 year old neighbor is.

2 - The acting. From the first two, did you really expect any different? Granted, there was far more character development in the first one, but #2 was pretty crappy for that too. Besides, its not like many people need a refresher course on who the main characters are and how they relate to each other, do we?

3 - Its a comic book adaptation. Generally speaking, your story line is ilmited, and Spidey is no different. The arc of the symbiote suit is well developed, and you can't really make to many material changes to it before people would start to complain. In short, there is limited room to grow the story beyond what many people have already read about.

4 - The USA is great propaganda angle of the film. Really, what did you expect? In case too many of us forgot, the first film ended with the stars and stripes filling the screen. They also had to re-shoot the original ending as it called for a fight between Green Gobbles and Spidey going back and forth the observation decks of the Twin Towers. Besides the fact that Spidey is a true American classic of a hero. Were you expecting to see the national flag of Bahrain?

5 - Its Venom. Coolest character EVER. Also, a fellow with fantastic dental hygene. Good msg for the wee kiddies out there in movie land. Brush your teeth and you'll grow up big, strong and a maniacal villan.

6 - Augustus is a complaining little girl.

Now to wait for Spidey 4 (maybe Carnage this time?) and the flaming to start.

"The storyline makes little sense in the game, with random clips and unexplained circumstances the norm rather than the exception. After facing some of the seemingly impossible bosses, you may not even want to keep following the story. It never gets easier and it never becomes fun."

Well i got it this morning, i agree, graphics not great, cam can be a bitch, but its spiderman, if youre a true fan you'll like it, thouse achievements are easy so far, i got about 20(GP) already from about 3 hours play... though i must say i do really like the game, if youre a fan of spidey 2 the game, i reccomend this, if youre a pure graphics whore, dont get it. its more a fan game than a next gen game:)

Hmmm i dunno about that the only problem i have found so far is that there is more than one storyline (10 in fact) so in themselves they make sense but if u play them one mission then the next rather than playing storylines complete then u can get confused the game starts with a Bang which is actually really suprising but a great intro...

The game finally arrived in the mail today and I like it :) It's SP2 but better IMO. Good enough graphics and decent controls. I just love swinging through the city like a mad man \o/

The movie was good, however it had about 50 mins of crap it did not need.
Fuckin Emo Peter was supposed to be a bad ass but just looked like a wuss who cuts himself in a pool of his tears and semen:?

The main reason I think the action sequences were kind of lame, is because most of the action sequences were at night. I'm sure it looked bad-ass on IMAX but I saw it at a pretty old theater. Another difference was the lack of peril to the general public... i.e. the train, and the doc ock machine from Spidey2. It was just MJ and Ron Howard's kid.

There were many parts of this movie were I was just bored for a long time, more than just the general 2-3 minutes of usual trite, hackneyed, cliche dialouge found in most mass-marketed films. This didn't break any expectations as I knew this kind of approach would be used, it just wasn't offset with enough action/ real drama brought on by quality acting.

If you want to see this movie, just download every possible trailer, run them back-to-back and thats pretty much the whole thing.

Finally, to quote a much funnier Peter- Peter Griffin: "It's impossible, it's like trying to find a winner between Lindsay Lohan and Kirsten Dunst in a 'hot body weird face competition!' It's just impossible"

He probably complained because increasing difficulty combined with the sucky controls and the terrible camera makes it impossible for some ppl not to go nuts and toss their controller at their screen ... or do worse :D

I'd really like to play this one for some simple fun, maybe I'll borrow it from a friend or something and mess around with it for a bit. But I dunno if I can stand it longer than for the first 2-3 missions :)

At the moment i'm stuck on 3 missions. A dragons hidout (those ninja boys kick my arse every time), an MJ Thrill ride which is impossible for me for some strange reason. Can't get to the second marker in time.. and a daily bugle mission where I have to take pictures of a fake spidey. The pictures were easy, till the nutcase drops from the chopper and I have no idea how to save him.. anyone know how to save the fella?

If youre a Spiderman fan then you WANT this game, if youre not a rather hardcore spidey fan then you may not want it, its not very next gen, graphics are average at best, gameplay is so similar to spidey 2, not that i mind at all i was in love with that game for a long time, fact is, if you adore spiderman and his web slinging ways, then get it, just ignore toby, he talks too much.

2. Horay for me, the storyline is completed, now for the silly side missions and races and such...ugh, not sure i will even bother. Back to doing GRAW 2 on elevated i suppose, and i really should start playing some GRAW 2 multiplayer, need some of those achievements;)

damnit, I'm stuck!.. After my 2 hour fight with Kraven and the Lizard I get some other missions and the only one left at the moment is the Arsenic Candy one in the museum with the dinosaur skeleton. I simply can't beat them before the dino is down.. Anyone got some handy tips????

Also, I can't seem to get the 200mile swing.. tops is 154 at the moment.. what am I doing wrong??

all i can say is stay in spider sense cause that slows things down too, and keep using spider reflexes, took a few tries too, just make sure you get the ones with guns on the top first,their the worst. and if you dont like that you wont last the second to last mission...oh my fucking god, i nearly throw my controller out the window, it took me about 3 and a half hours, then in FINALLY did it, and my 360 crashed!!!! i had to do it AGAIN!

btw, you don't want to know how often I had to restart the second Kraven part.. Always getting him down but getting the button sequence at the end wrong.. everytime!! had to start that part over about 15 times.. if not more haha..

Btw.. I've looked up your achievments and you got the 200mile achievment verry early in the game.. How did you do that?

Ahhh you need to slingshot yourself:) goto the Bugle, theres two small chimneys next to each other on the tinnest side of the building, press X in between them and keep hitting LS down till you fly about half way across the city:)
