Gears of War - Host Lag?

I've been playing Gow again recently since the new maps came out and, it has become more and more apparant that the host seems to has 3 times as many kill as anyone else in the room. The host also seems to be able to take you down with 1 shot when u've already unloaded 3 shotgun bullets into his/her face. I've even witnessed 3 on one situations all firing at the host and he takes averyone out. :?

Anyone else experience this problem? As its ruining a great game and really starting to piss me off! :X

ps. I know I could host but that seems like cheating!

Yeah this pisses me off quite a bit 2.
Playing the other day, the host and another player in the opposite side were having a 1 on 1 shotgun battle. they were running round in circles and the opponent was quite a fair bit off with his aiming. after a few shots he was down and then a pistol shot made his head pop.(love that sound)
In the lobby he was saying he was hitting him directly in the chest/head for about 6 shots in a row.
Host lag sucks!!!
Thnk im gonna host a ranked and see wat the outcome is.

Let me tell you how it is..I was one of the tops in GOW until I just quit playing it. I was always host....I had a round of 19 where I had 61 kills 1796 points....I have had way to many 50 kill matches in 19 rounds....there is not lag since you are the host, you do have an adavntage as far as, if you shoot them in the shest it hits them in the chest, if they hsoot you at the same time what they think is in the chest, if you have moved at all it ends up hitting, say your arm or somewhere else...I only play as the host, never the guest..I wont play a game where a user has the advantage and not be the one with the advantage. Battelfield 2 is nice, if there is lag....everyone experiences it...everyone... I love gears, and I love having 9 years old scream at me when I own them at that game..hahahah

Hey, u've got the right idea about Gears man, think I might just host from now on, haven't played battlefront but it sounds good.

I think the problem with gears is the combat is so close up that accuracy is much more important so any kind of lag makes a real difference.

My friends kick my ass when their hosting but when we were all guests i owned them. i hate host lag/advantages!

Host has big advantage with shotgun indeed. With the other weapons there seems to be less advantage for the host to be honest.

The host lag is the reason why I always try and lead my shotgun shots. It doesn't work all the time but it sure feels good when it does.

as with many P.c. games in the past, leading your shots seem to be the best solution. This gets very iffy, and I always wind up firing to soon and thus too far away, and when i usually do connect with a pre-emptive strike, they either blow into chunks or their heads explode, which is making it near impossible to get my curbstomp and execution achieveys|:( |:(

I haven't played this game for a while, i don't have the quickest connection where I live now, I used to have Verizon's FiOs service, that was fucking fast, now I'm back to DSL.... Douches Suffering w/ Lag

Consequently, when I go to Host a game, It takes almost 10-15 minutes to find a game, and if I host a 4v4 the lag the other people experience is sooo bad, I get yelled at "never fucking host again BongRip" and then they all quit, leaving usually a 2v4 situation which ends badly and no one gets points. And then When I host 3v3 people are always bitching and some douche-a-rama quits, rendering the game useless.

I hardly ever experience lag when playing Halo2 and I'm rarely the host, So when November hits everyone will be forget about gears and its shortcumings

well when I hosted matches, I have a 15Mb pipe, perfect signal and everything, yet people still complained about lag. So I tried some different things, got some friends with 5Mbit pipes or larger and had them play matches with me, they never had lag, it has to do with host connection, if no problem there, it usally boils down to the clients connection(IE Guest)...soooo...no the host shotgun is not more powerful, the only adv. is lag....Go find my name in list of leaderboards in execution(keep in mind have not played in awhile....all that killing you see in stats was in 3 months.....thats it....host is the bomb period...so if you got good connection then your good, and also quit saying you have good connection if what you have is 5+mbit download and 256k upload...the upload is the biggest factor when hosting, mine is 1.3 mbit...thats why my guest never see lag unless its theirs....

All good points about the host lag situation, just gets really annoying when on your screen you've shot someone in the face three times to no affect.

The game still rocks though and new maps are ace. I think it will still be played when halo 3 comes out because its a totally different type of online gameplay experience. :)

Anyone heard if there has been a GOW 2 officially announced yet?
