Iv recently been buying quite a few arcade games. I even buy them before iv tried out the demo.

Do you even download the demos?
Does the demo do you fine?
Do you own one or two and think its enough?
Do you buy alot of them?
Or does anyone get them all regardless?

Just curious how much other people get out of XBLA.

I think that the arcade is one of them things that will be amazing eventually. There are already amazing games on there, but theres a fair bit of gash. Also its a good way of getting games on the cheap, which is important.I download all of the demos.

I dont bother with trials when all the games themselves are pittance cheap on XBLA - but some I wish I didnt bother with and usually I just see if most people think it's worth it or good review before hand.

Catan is a lot better than I thought it was, but can go on a bit - it needs a vision update...

I got burned again by the stupid arcade!!!!
First with Gauntlet....I loved it when I was a kid, so I bought it staright off with no demo. Big mistake as I've played it (maybe!) 3 times. Game sucks balls.
Second with Small Arms....trash, but because it was original I bought it withouth thinking it through. I've played it (maybe!) 2 times. Game sucks HAIRY balls.
Lastly with Double Dragon......why do I remember this game as being a million times better 20 years ago? Oh wait! I know why, because even 20 years ago the frame rate wouldn't drop with 3-4 sprites in the screen!

WTF!!!??!??!?!?
The beast that is the 360 can't handle 1987 graphics? I wish I could say this game didn't suck balls, but alas, it does. Lots. Again and again.

On the good side, Marble Balst is outstanding. Frogger is a blast from the past, and my PC was always too damnned slow to play DOOM so its nice to paly it now.

All in all, the arcade is nice, but make sure to try those demos kids!

Go read my final thoughts on 360 and you will see I love arcade games, only a couple really bad ones, jewel quest sucks...sometimes it randomly deletes your gme save...usally its the game where I am almost at the end, that sucks...

Of this I am aware. I have spent plenty on them, £186 in fact. I wasn't stating I hate the prices, I was merely getting at the point you said you'd pay at least 400 points for any game on there. TBH, some of the games are simply not worth 400points even, games like Joust (I know, I bought it) and other Retro titles. Some retro titles are worth it like Paperboy.
