Blacksite: Area 51? Im impressed!

Just played the demo and WOW this game looks good! i usually dont go for first-person shooters but theres something about this one. Graphics and gameplay are great!

Anyone else agree?

If you havn't already downloaded and played this i think you should. It's a bit short but hey its a demo.

Oh! And i wasn't impressed with Forza2. I think games that use actual race tracks are a bit boring. PGR4 will personally be much better.

This game rocks like a big crate a beer and a tube of cheese and onion pringles.

Seriously, could take squad based combat to a whole new level, I witnessed the cpu run about 100metres infront of me to get upto an alien and finish them off with a mellee attack, now thats cool.

ps. Forza looks like cardboard cut outs that have been cut with blunt scissors, not impressed.

pps. Sat in at the five star on friday for a wee chicken satay starter folllowed by a chicken kung po and fried rice then a coffee to finish, amazing.

Uhh, the demo only lasted 5 minutes- I couldn't make a real evaluation about it from how short it was. I didn't think the graphics were that great- there were too many jaggies. The gameplay was pretty fun, but the framerate was terrible.

I was also surprised by the graphics. They were better than I expected them to be. I did not like it that my guys got butchered by the aliens, and then just appeared again, and kept fighting. No need to revive them or anything. Looks promising, but it has not been added to my list...just yet.

well the forza 2 demo was good although the ford gt killed the other cars on the first straight bit

It seemed decent but like the original Area 51 for me the shooting just has an odd feel to it, I shoot and feel like I'm not doing anything, where as in a game like Gears I shoot and I feel like I'm kickin the shit out of people. Still, graphics looked good and looks a little Resistance inspired.

I too was seriously not impressed with Forza and deleted the demo soon afterwards. Visually it looks PS2 quality to me and should take a lesson from NFS:Most Wanted graphics.

Well least I wasn't the only one who through the Forza 2 Demo looked pretty shabby. I acctually think the Xbox game looked better and had better handling for the cars. Didn't matter what I was driving... even with the aids on soon as I touched the gas pedel the back end started loosing it.

As for the Area51 Demo... I agree with the other post about it being too short ot make a full judgement and about it haveing a really bad framerate... I think the framerate issue may just be demo related... its not exactly finished code, demos usually never are... but it was way to short to make any kind of judgement on wether it was a game I'd want or not.

Right now if i wanna shoot aliens I just go play Half Life 2 on the PC.

honestly....i thout the demo was really good. If you think about it , it kinda eminds you of Resistance fall of man........but better cuz ps3 sucks. Overall i think i am gonna buy the game

I liked the demo marginally. Good atmosphere, but flaky unintuitive controls, and shaky framerate most definitely. Some work to be done still.

The demo is good graphically, but i don't know... i'm reserving judgment till i see something more. A 3-5 minute clip basically is not enough to form an opinion.

I liked the demo, although it felt a bit like that big indian killing game (native american for all you freaking liberals) got it, beat it, didin't care for it.

I want a little more of the Area51 stuff though, I didin't find this title on the old Xbox so this is a new franchise to me... if it could only look a bit more like Rainbow 6 Vegas.

Still it is on my list.

Honestly...I wasn't impressed. Maybe the multiplayer will impress? Anyway what I played in that demo was not really impressive or innovative at all to me.
