I use invert on pretty much every game. It's just the way my brain operates.

I used to play inverted too when I was younger, but for whatever reason, I kinda grew out of it, and now when I try and use inverted controls I simply can't function properly!

I hate inverted controls. I tell myself: "Zan, up is down and down is up. It's that simple!!!" But once you start playing, you realize inverted is a no-no. Makes the game 10 times more difficult for me :P.

I was in a group with Chris before and we couldn't get a game together because we were different levels. Then we decided to hook up with Mass and his pal, but we still couldn't get in a game.

So we made the best choice and kicked some serious ass on Team Slayer. I got to Lieutenant rank last night too!

Lol u mean the Sword??? I quite like Infection but I would really like it to have had ur character actually be a flood rather than ur normal self as I have found playing agains chris he always takes a sword and I don't know which one is normal or infected and I killed him a few times :)

And I only use inverted which is why I had to trade in Dead Rising because I couldnt aim the gun which meant i got stuck on day 2 :'(

Yup :P I've played every game inverted since i can remember. i don't know why but it's just how ny head works my hands. i can't play the regular way for the life of me. And as for the control scheme i use for halo, i use the default, with inverted turned on of course :)

Kay Fanny and i have arranged a games (for now Halo) night, seeing as a lot of us rarely play custom games or dont see people online enough to get a large custom game going, its a chance to get a lot of people together one night of the week and play some custom games, have a laugh and just chill out rather than ranked all day every day, so if anyone wants to join in, games night starts this Tuesday and every Tuesday from 6pm GMT, just join my party or of course anyone thats in there if you want to join in:)

Going to be setting some time aside soon to edit some maps in forge, make some new gametypes and such for Tuesday, gonna try have something new every week so things dont get stale, hopefully more people will do the same so we have lots of new things to try every time:)

Capcom has recently confirmed to Gamespot that a demo will be out before the game releases in February (\o/), so those not yet sold on the game will have the chance to decide properly then :).

I could have got an Overkill in that match too but the last guy killed me just as I lunged at him. I have Killing Frenzy. If you want Steppin' Razor play a small map that has the sword such as Construct on gametypes like King of the Hill or Oddball, where the player's goal is inside a small area.

i enjoy all the custom games on halo 3 like infection and spikeball and i relly like playing other peoples forged maps but matchmaking is pretty dull the only gametype i like playing is team doubles (although the infection special was good 2)

i watched a intro on gamer tv for assassins creed and was very impressed as i have been very critcle of it after its poor e3 showing after those 3 theres still sum ill be waiting 2 get like skate and blacksite area 51 but there is a load of games coming out in 2008 as well

I REALLY enjoy Halo3 online. COD4 is great too but you really can't compare the two games IMO. They are two different style FPS. Both are great games in their own right. All be doing a lot of jumping between those two games.:)

You never get a straight conversion like that from banks anyway, they have their own rates. It's technical, but it wouldn't be equal to that. You tend to get less than the actual rate, so $80 is actually likely to be closer than your silly number.

If Halo3 had 60+ more weapons, more unlockable features with rank, better presented well thought out scenic maps - I'd have been more satisfied.

But you get unlockable weapons... something to play for... (but I do wish they had put achievements in - even if they were all 5points !) Also with both Halo & CoD - it would have been better a bit GEARS style were you have to play the campaign on an easier setting before you can unlock the option to play it harder & insane...

Sandtrap is my favorite map, i have a few varients of that, also have a couple for last resort, valhalla and maybe a couple more, i'll stick some of what i think are my best on my fileshare over the next couple days and let you know on PM or something, add me to live, would make things easier, can play some games of CoD or Halo too:P

I still enjoy Halo3 MP. Eventually I'll go back and do the meta games but the campaign is done for me at the moment. I beat it on normal and then went back and beat it on Legendary with a friend. Now whenever I play it's all about MP.

The skulls actually hinder a lot more than they help! I put them on for the challenge and meta-game achievements. They add multipliers to the points you get in meta-game. The three I had turned on were Tough Luck (enemies dive away from grenades, vehicles, etc. with greater success), Thunderstorm (all enemies are promoted) and Mythic (doubles enemies' health).

Btw I just beat the last mission. I had to do it twice to get the Heroic and Legendary achievements, though I turned the skulls off the second time. I also had to watch the opening cut-scene on Legendary since I hadn't done that in Solo before.

Usually it has been or was.. about 11pm that it would be less of em UK time. I think that's 6pm your time. So my early evening is made up of US & Canadian day time or afternoon where it's rampant teenage time... Im guessing the better adult players are at work and start playing 6pm onwards which is my 11pm.

TBH, I tend to stick to players on my friend list when looking for games. I'll only add a person if I A. Know them in real life or B. played with them at some point, and feel they aren't a total idiot.

Children in online games is something we all just have to deal with. I was a kid once, and while online gaming wasn't nearly what it is today, I played, and I'd have been pissed if someone was trying to prevent me from doing that, strickly based on age.

ANY ONLINE GAME will have some children playing. It just seems more prevalent in FPS games because thats the biggest genre on the 360 right now.

Yeah I get where you're coming from with those maps. I kinda felt that it was assumed Halo3 would sell by the millions and therefor not a great deal of effort was put into it as much as they could have. When you see something that looks amazing as Assassins Creed, it makes you realise that what one game is capable of graphically - so must another to a point. I still don't know the story because my own conclusion is that it's about a long walk where you kill a few people on the way to a space ship. It relies on gimmicky stuff and communal sharing to keep it in play multiplayer wise. Im not all that interested in recording gameplay or taking pictures. I'd rather do without that for at least something which involved more than playing the whole lot through in a straight line near enough.

I got bored after a few hours, but stuck it out. Every mission is near enough the same thing, so it's like playing one level over again in different ways. Most of it is all outside based really slow moving stuff. But graphically its outstanding and you just know that it's really the beginning of many more Assassin's Creed Games and hopefully 2 is better. It starts in the furture and you go back and forth all the time relying on memory banks. It's weird...

There's nothing wrong with paying $10 for the maps if you want them now. I paid for the Gears maps as soon as they hit. I never understood everyone who said "Wow, how dumb to pay for these things". It just depends on what you like I guess. It seems that I am a rare breed that enjoys both Halo3 and COD4 equally but not necessarily for the same reasons. I am not made of money by any means. There are a lot of games I want to go out and buy on launch but just end up renting because I can't dish out $60 a pop. Some games take priority for me, like Halo and COD. These are games that I will gladly pay $$ DLC. I want new maps for COD4 and Halo3 and I'm willing to pay for them. But I won't do that for all the games I own.

No problem. If I had the money to buy any game I wanted whenever I would consider Halo 3 and try to get into but it would be tough to make that decision. With COD4 racking up all my time and so many huge titles coming out lately and in the near future it's tough to choose what to get. I plan on renting Mass Effect and see how that goes. I may like it or I may not. It will be hard to put any real time into it but I want to try something other than the traditional shooter (while still playing COD4 don't worry Jay).

EDIT: yup, still at 33.....Agreed, but to get to level 50 in CoD playing shit, say couple kills a game losing every game, it will take a fucking LONG time, like maybe a weeks play 8/10 hours a day. If youre that bad at a game, you wouldnt play it that much, well i wouldnt anyway, i'm sure there are people out there utterly terrible at games yet continue to try, again... And again...

Call of Duty 3 on multiplayer "War" mode is basically CoD4's Domination. I loved getting inside a tank on multiplayer and riding around... I may have to play it later to remind myself of it.

Nuh uh, it's more like Halo's Territories game, just that it's two sided so both teams can take and retake the territories. In War you have to take all the flags in order and the game ends if one side claims all the flags.

This isn't about Halo > CoD or CoD > Halo.
This thread is to discuss a game that is still played by more people than any other FPS on Live right now. It'll be this way for a few years to come.

Other games are fun for a break, but Halo will always be the King in my books. You'll see.....in a year from now, when there may be 50000 still playing CoD (still a respectable number IMO) but still 200000 playing Halo regularly. Its got staying power. And that's my two cents.

Yeah I can't do anything tonight as it's nearly midnight here and I got work super early tomorrow... but yeah add me because I only have chapters 8 & 9 on legendary to do and I really need the help... I tried it with me and just Max and it was impossible, really needs more than 2 people for a Halo3 orgy if that's what you was implying...lol

I had about 10 minutes to quickly check them out and I liked what I saw. Rats nest looks like a lot of fun.

I just want to start by saying that I certainly hope Bungie gives us more than 3 maps for 800 points next time. 5-8 maps at that price, and no one could complain about price. I like the maps, and I'd buy them again in a second, but only 3 maps?!!!?? not cool guys, not cool.

You deperately need another Big Team Battle map. Valhalla, Sand Trap and Last Resot are fun, but 3 just isn't enough to keep things fresh for long IMO.

Initial impressions:

Foundry.
Love the idea of a blank canvas.
Hate the default layout. Its a BR/spawn camping paradise, and two-three guys sticking together with BRs are pratically untouchable.
Someone will make something GREAT with this empty map, and I can't wait to see what people create.

Rat's Nest.
Played a couple games of Multi-CTF and Assault on this map. I like how you can go around the outside with vehicles or staright through the middle. Not bad for Slayer games either, but objective based games, this map will be a blast.

Standoff.
Kick ass. That about sums it up for Standoff.
The base designs are awesome, and will cause severe headaches for defenders. Expect some epic matches on this map. Easily my favourite of the three. Map works well for Slayer and objective games, as its almost perfectly symetrical.

I think I'm ready for more DLC. Get on it Bungie!!!

I should be getting this game in the mail soon again from Gamefly. I want an early jump as I can't wait for Christmas to get it and start playing. I'm really going to try hard to get into this game.

Nothing will ever replace COD4. That is definately one of the best games I've ever played. Don't worry Jay... I'm with you on this one. I'm not leaving you alone.
