My big Daddy came with his helmet hinges broken in the front and I only noticed it after finishing the game and really taking a good look at him. So I managed to get it replaced in about 3 weeks fingers crossed , otherwise there is no point in paying more for a faulty Mr Bubbles. :P

Tough to say about the exact dimensions.
Pretty much all EB Games (GameStop in the USA) stores in my area have one on display in the window. I'd say it was a touch bigger than a bowling ball, or more like a small watermelon. Bigger than I expected, at least.

I said I'd try to take a pic but my new phone doesn't haev a camera (stupid Blackberry.....) and I rarely carry my digi-cam anywhere unless its a sepcial occasion.

But still it makes me wonder why would Microsoft ship off the games so early and maybe even before review copies? I am sure they knew this would happen but those people problably cant open the games and there are strict rules to count the number of games so none go missing.

For those that don't already know, Bungie have confirmed that these ARE NOT Halo 3 copies, but display cases. If I can find the link I'll add it in, but suffice to say, there aren't copies at retailers until around next week.

EDIT: Found it.

We don't know who REDDOGG is... he could be MS, it may even be someone at Bungie who is out of the office and grabbed a disc.

At this point, a FEW people have legitimate copies of the game. These people are not supposed to be playing the game on Xbox LIVE.

No actual copies are avaialble to any retailers yet. The photos that surfaced earlier were EMPTY promotional/pre-order copies of the game. Many retailers have had these for a while now. It was a hoax.

However, we are just days away from real copies starting to legimitately leave the manufacturing plant. We are doing everything we can to try and keep the game story secret and not have the game get out early but sadly this is probably inevitable. The earliest anyone will officially get a copy is some members of press which will be around 9/22. Reviewers are playing it beforehand but only at Bungie or MGS controlled events. Nobody gets a disc. And then their reviews are under an embargo until 9/23 and even then, they are agreeing to not disclose story spoilers in their articles. We're trying our best but once this baby gets momentum nobody will be able to contain it.

For now... you should seriously be careful where you go online and what you read. There are jerks out there who will stop at nothing to intentionally ruin your day one game experience. Be warned.

On the plus side... just 25 more days to go. After nearly 3 years, what's another 3 weeks. :)

Yeah that's the one uncovered issue, but I believe stores have their own shrink-wrap facilities, and perhaps the four people (there are other shots other than the one Jay posted) decided it would be fun to get famous on teh internetz, so shrink-wrapped the display copies.

Yeah I doubt it too...they're probably just starting to pull in everyones money leading up to release so no one can back out and cancel with perhaps such a large amount of pre-orders. As I pre-ordered my copy after playing the Beta I think the earlier you pre-ordered the more likely you are to be charged for it first.

If Halo3 lands on my doorstep on Mon/Tues I WILL NOT put it in my console because it may look dodgy - you never know some dippy bird may have looked and thought 'OMG He's been waiting ages, I'll pull it out the store room...'
