I politely suggest you actually read why the game got a 7. They were reviewing solely the single player part of the game, since the multiplayer servers weren't up, and will be doing the multiplayer part shortly after the game ships.

And Kotaku, who don't usually score games, scored it 87.5%, so 88% same as Gamer 2.0 for anyone who's wondering (Kotaku actually said B+, which they translated to the 87.5%).

I don't think i have ever been so non-plussed about a game with this much hype, normally i love FPS's but Halo just doesn't really do that much for me. I played the beta for a bit and just thought meh!!!!! whats the fuss about i would rather play Quake 4 online every time over this, someone please explain what makes this game better than any other FPS out there. I feel like a leper as i just couldn't care less about the release of this game. This thread is the busiest in the forum which says the game can't be shit.

In addition, enemy player voice is disabled in game in Ranked Playlists. This is because these playlists are about the contest, and not about being Chatty Mc Chatterson. Some people love the art of trash talking above all else—there is a home for you, but it isn’t a Ranked Playlist. The scoreboard does all of the trash talking here.

Matchmaking for the win.

Pretty much the same as the BETA's, but if you press X before the loading, it will ask if you want to search for a prioty, also it tells you the Skill Range of everyone on that playlist. There's only 3500 odd people playing at the min. Another little sweet thing happens when you rank up aswell.

let me begin by taking the time to thank you for all the countless hours of enjoyment you've afforded me. When there were no sports to watch on tv, no dinners with the gf or pub nights with the guys you were always there to cap off my evenings.

The nights that I spent with you were fantastic, and there were certain moments when you took my breath away. Remember the time I went into the base on Coagulation with the bomb, dropped it, scored a triple kill and went on the score all by myself? That was fun. We had such a good time that day. I remember we laughed and laughed.....hahahahahaha.

But sadly, we both knew those times wouldn't last. Today will be my last day seeing you. Probably forever. I know, this is sudden and will most likely seem harsh, but understand that I never wanted you to get hurt.

It started out quite innocently enough, with a mere 3 1/2 week beta test. Initially, I was excited more because it was something new, and yet something familiar at the same time. I won't lie, I was scared the first few rounds I played. But after the beta had ended I found myself thinking of it even while I was playing with you. I'm sorry you had to find out this way, I really am.....but this is the truth, no matter how much it may hurt right now.

I will never forget all the good times we had Halo 2. You were the most important DVD over the past 3 years of my life by far. But let's not drag this out any further. Our time has come and gone. Once again, thank you Halo 2, for hours upon hours of Killing Spree fun. Thank you for the covenant energy sword. Thank you for playable Banshees and Wraiths. Thank you for dual weilding and easy party systems. And most of all, thank you for understanding that I have a fight to finish. A fight that you may not have started, but one that you certainly pulled me into.

the spindle on the LE is just a small plastic nub, rather than the standard and legendary edition "clip" spindle. check the picture of the LE in the neogaf forums and then look at any of your regular xbox 360 game cases.

It's not the disc itself that has the problem, it's how the case is made. I hear that even a minor bump dislodges the disc from the nub that holds it.

Ditto, I grabbed the LE, and mine was dislodged when I got it, but with only one or two minor scratches, and it seems good for now, and is playing great, so I am cautiously optimistic about the game not having any problems in the long run.

Yeah people I know have done the same. The GAME online section has had most of the stock, the stores are getting very little extra stock other than pre-orders.

Thank God! I pre-ordered in May...a lesson to be learned here. Curry's has had massive amounts in, try them.

Because I hate completing games more than once ( Gears, CoD3 ) Im starting this straight on Legendary. How bad is this mode...is it literally dead in seconds and have to keep restarting?

anyways, this game is insane.
I got home with it around 1 am last night and didn't stop until 4am. I really wanted to call in sick to work today, but too many things to deal with right now I had to come in. A sick day can wait a little longer. The edge is off knowing that I have a big Spartan helmet sitting in my room waiting for me.

@ Augutus, Shotty/Snipers is not a regular game type (most of the time). I veto the shit out of that because its the worst way to play this game. I think no one was vetoing last night because everyone was just overly happy to be playing the game period. You can expect to see less and less of Shotty/Snipers as Bungie sorts out their playlists.

Yeah I guess... it took me 7 months to do CoD3 on Veteran which is harder than Gears Insane mode - so yeah I'll start on easy like every new guy should. It's not as if I've played any Halo2 either for experience.

Playing Halo 2 wouldn't really prepare you that much for Halo 3 anyway.

If you can't do Legendary alone, being in a group of 4 won't be of much help. Unless your team-mates are good. I mean, the number of enemies is supposed to times for the number of players. For 2 players, twice the number of enemies.

thats evan worse for u im in 6 form and if it came out last year id be in the same situation as i had to stay back for science master classes which finished at 4

basicly evrey1 in my year (12 out of 13[year 12+13 are optional but u get £30 a week for going 2 school duriong those 2 years]) goes to the hall and sits down and a teacher addresses us and talks bollocks for 15-40min

Yeah initially I went to bungie.com to grab my little orange & red icon, Im using the same design I used in the beta - when I went to my user stats it showed my own character, it's really good - plus when you capture a pic in the game I think it goes on the site too, but for that I think you need to pay 790 MS points to be part of bungie club to store 24 videos and have more storage space. Not looked into it fully yet

Why dont you just re-download your old maps and then DOWNLOAD THE NEW MAPS if you havnt allready, mine were free, and i never even got charged.

1 if the pic is on another website, right click it and copy the http:// details. Then in the text box on this site, click the yellow pic icon and enter the link to the pic.

2 if it's pics on your PC, you need to upload them to somewhere first, most people have free server space with their Internet Provider. I use www.jason-andrews.co.uk/xboxic as an example and upload pics with FTP program and then provide link to the pics...

I just read something on a site that says that PAL legendary edition second disk has got nothing on it. That means no HD calibration tool, No remastered cinematics and no day in the life of bungie. If this is true then i will be extremely annoyed and phone up microsoft to get either a partial refund or a disk that actually works. Well i guess i will see in about 10 hours.

Same here -in the end I don't even know how I got to the exit (in some deep cave) up on a ledge -I must have lost two hours there. Is anybody else confused about the game saves? I started out (overconfident fool) on Legendary, but towards the end of the first campaign I had to concede defeat -sad to get pwnd by AI like that. So I wanted to restart on Normal, just to get a first walkthrough, but I couldn't figure out how so in the end I deleted the save game from my HD. I finished the fight meanwhile, but I still don't get it. And no, haven't read the manual..

I went to sleep so only started playing today and did the first mission. I was really surprised when the doo bell rang and I seen the Parcelforce staff member with this huge box.

Everything is fantastic even if briefly I went a bit overboard when my mother tried to take the glue marks of the stickers which didnt go that well. I just remembered it was the inside that mattered anyway and it is hardly noticeable, but everything is there like all DVD working fully. :)

The first though I had was to get a snappy of me with the helmet, which doesn't fit my head because of making it the shape of the bomb shelter. I think it wasn't made round so the news would not end up covering the death of someone that fell of a balcony while wearing one.

The manuals for both normal and legendary also look different along with everything else which is quite nice. Also the legendary had a comic book about the main story of Halo 3 so not sure if that is the same as the one in the Collector's edition?

Anyway my apologies for rambling as it seems I got Halo fever, so I will quietly leave to go play.

I think Sainsbury's is selling it between £33 and £35 because Gamestation is selling it for £35.

Single player: is awesome, a great fps, the cinematics give it this movie feel, but the story doesn't even try to cater to people who didn't play 1 or 2 which is kind of lame seeing as how they were on another system even. The fact that there is no coop search engine is absolutely fucking retarded, with people playing versusmultiplayer / doing their own campaigns / friends scattered across the country in different timezones, it's damn near impossible to get a 4 player coop game going. they really fucked up on that one.

Multi player: i duno what all the fuss is about. I think I even enjoyed Gears more than this... Warhawk is definitely superior in terms of fun, tho obviously it's a little bit different of an online shooter. But definitely more fun. (and ya... my experiences in h3 multiplayer aren't limited to me getting 5 kills / everyone else getting 20. i've played enough to get stuck in w/ a few maps where theres not some god of halo 2 xbox fanboi on the opposite team.)

Window Cleaner spray that has vinegar in it or
Watered down spray furniture polish or
Mayonaise.

Mayonaise though is best on wooden surfaces and you let it soak for 20 minutes, Im not sure which part the stickers are on, if it's metallic - use the window cleaner spray with vinegar

Trust me Augustus I didn't swear or be rude towards her as I wouldn't even think about it. In all honesty I went up to my room for a few seconds but then it hit me that it really was just a game and I just came downstairs, and we had a laugh about it. I think that being a bit of a perfectionist also doesn't help when I get anything new but I try my best and think postivive, like a lot of people were unlucky to not get this edition. :)

My worst nightmare has come true, gameplay have fucked up my order for my legendary and sent it to my old address despite me ringing up on 3 accassions to confirm it was being posted to my new address in bournemouth. As it stands its in the mail depo in liverpool and gameplay have said if they people living in my old address sign for the parcel the best they can do is refund me and take action against the people at the address.

Im so angry right now not even a sorry off the customers service rep and the fact they had them since friday and it took them till today to send mine out and to the wrong address.

I knew something would go wrong with my parcel.

anyone got any advice for action I could take against maybe gameplay or the rentees at my old address if they sign for my parcel?

Do you live near them because this month gamestation sent Blue Dragon to my old address by mistake. So instead of waiting for a refund I went to ask the nice new people living in my old address and it was there along with a few other letters that they gave to me. :)

Maybe try going there to ask instead of taking action straight away as it would mean you getting the game instead of doing a lot of work to get a refund. Good luck mate as it is quite annoying when it happens.

It could also be the case that they refuse it and it goes back to gameplay so then they have to get it sent back to you. :P

That's a shame then that you live so far off so that it really seems your only option is calling Gameplay to have a replacement sent out if possible or get that one sent back to you. Since I only been to a few places in England I wouldn't really know how close the locations you mentioned were from each other.

I don't like a lot of the multiplayer maps. Not sure of the names, but they seem really really small and just grey walls and grey floors. I do like the campaign a lot more than I thought and will play it through on normal first, then on legendary.

Multiplayer to me is not as good as Call of Duty 3, but I enjoy it a lot and Im more than pleased with this game because the only other massive release I can compare it to is GEARS, and I hated everything about it - the multiplayer, the campaign, the graphics were the best around (then).

I'd have given this game a good 9/10, the only decent multiplayer maps are the ones from the BETA.

I am definetly up for helping with anything I can do in your quest to get your legendary edition. As it is still in the depot as you typed if I remember correctly, then pressure them to call the delivery service to cancel and send it back.

Multi player: i duno what all the fuss is about. I think I even enjoyed Gears more than this... Warhawk is definitely superior in terms of fun, tho obviously it's a little bit different of an online shooter. But definitely more fun. (and ya... my experiences in h3 multiplayer aren't limited to me getting 5 kills / everyone else getting 20. i've played enough to get stuck in w/ a few maps where theres not some god of halo 2 xbox fanboi on the opposite team.)

Matchmaking is for fools. Play custom games with friends, that's where the fun is.

Cheers mate, I pressured them to get it sent to my new address but according to parcel force its against the law for them to get it redriected so they said I have to take the chance of it going to my old address and someone not answering which is a total joke.

When the lady rings again from gamestation im gonna ask for some form of compensation even if i get it as I handed them the money over 6 months ago in match with the pre order and file a complaints for against them. Both gameplay and parcel force telling me theres nothing they can do and i have to hope that no signs for my halo 3 is a total joke, when its not there £70 on the line.

i watched last night as my friends list slowly (then slightly less slowly) filled with halo 3 players, no doubt grinning in utter glee as their own personal master chief lay waste to new and old friends alike in fantastic looking lanscapes. although there was only one other person, playing midtown madness 3, i quickly deleted that person then looked back at the list to see the biggest amount of friends ive ever seen online all playing halo. i had no halo. today i went to my friends and played halo on a small television in coop. for 2 levels. im back at home now and i still have no halo.
tomorrow i will buy halo.

The best solution to getting that sticker residue of any surface is to use NAIL POLISH REMOVER or PURE RUBBING ALCOHOL, if you fold up a paper towel and pour some on it the sticker will just wipe away, this doesnt hurt game cases or anything either i always use this method.

completed heroic within 6 hours last night.
dont like the fact that you constantly have to go back the way you came. gets a bit boring to be honest. first level is classic and the last level is balls.

Alright Gaz,

Twas a good session on Halo 3 last night, got too agree with your comments, the level design was very poor, hadn't moved on since Halo 2.

The outside enviroments had a epic feel about them and the redraw distance was pretty good, they were great fun playing with the 4 of us.

The end of the game seemed rushed or maybe they had just run out of ideas at that point, after a promising start the game does weaken off the further you go, dissapointing too say the least. Specially when you sit it next to games like bioshock or even the gow story which wasnt great but didnt feature massive back tracking.

Was hoping for a more evolved story, and the lack off boss battles was just weird for a fps.

Still many hours of team slayer to look forward too, should be worth the money for that alone.

Just dissapointed the campaign left me a little stale.

Looking forward too reading the xboxic review, hopefully it wont be full off bad points then a score of 10/10 like most of the other sites?.

when your viewing the film, press x i think and it brings up the buttons then move to the left to snap screenshot
