Joining ya soon fellas! For me it's all about the Multiplayer online. I'm only 1 level into the single player portion of the game so far. Even if your not a huge fan of Halo you should have a copy of Halo3 in your collection. ;)

I wasn't a big fan and to be honest Im still NOT a big fan because I can't help being virtually in love with CoD...the campaign on Halo 3 is basically just run and shoot, drive and shoot, hide and shoot... the campaign is not fun at all because it seems to predictable. - but the multiplayer is excellent, going co-op is excellent, and everyone else has it !!

Halo 3 to me, seems like Ghost Recon meets Terry Pratchet, but in a good way & im glad I bought it.

In the User CP up there at the top, you can add your Gamertag into your profile options so it displays at the bottom, as you can see :). Makes it easier for people to add you then.

If you go on the marketplace there is a logo of Halo 3 and it either says something like 7 days.Then click on it and it has that gamer pic and a theme for free like when Gears came out for a limited time. :)

It's such a draaaaagggg on solo campaign. Im sorry to everyone who's sent me co-op invites. I cant seem to reclaim my level afterwards so I am still completing this on my own first so that I feel I've completed it. Im halfway through Chapter 8 now...so once Im done on normal mode...hit me with co-op all you want, but I'll only do legendary levels next.

I have a guide for most of if not all the skulls that unlock achievements, Im getting them last and I heard theres some secret skull in Level 7 near the 2 scarabs, but you use the hornet before to fly somewhere... a silver daddyskull or something.

RB picks things up/activates them. Try that.
I found a skull on the 2nd (i think) map. When you're in the Ops Centre, and you don't have a weapon in your hand. If you grab the skull with no weapon and hit RT Master Cheif will dribble the skull like a basketball. Looks friggin hillarious.

LOL..I get the same thing a lot !! I feel awful about it, but I made the decision to just be open to anyone and anybody once Ive completed on normal so I've at least seen all the levels in order before I go co-op hopping !!

I 'HATE' Forge... but liking the theatre, especially now I discovered I can record mini clips from films and got used to cam angles - that is so good for a game!!

To be fair I need to go through Heroic with Max too, I started it with him, so should finish it with him and Augustusbot...Im going on to finish chaper 8 & 9 tonight on Normal ... I'm decorating all weekend :( :( but trying to free some evenings from 8pm onwards...

Here's what I managed to dig up for you:

* The Skull is on the level, “The Covenant”
* The Skull is the most difficult in the game to find

* According to ferrex (from Bungie), the Skull is found in ways that we have yet to imagine

* Hint included in the Game Code suggests: “Interred at the Foundry’s edge.” This indicates that the Skull is somewhere near the end of the level, most likely in the area with the Halo Ring Holograms and the Prophet of Truth.

* Unconfirmed Reports of one of the Bungie Team communicating with people on Bungie.net, and from a picture of some new Game Code Suggests that the Skull is activated rather than found by jumping through the rings in a certain order.

* The Halo Rings in the last part of the level each produce a specific note. All of the notes combined make up the same notes played in the Halo Theme Song. The Notes in order from First (Entrance) Ring to last are: B C# D E F# G A.

* Ethan confirmed that the “Skull of all Skulls” or the “Grand Daddy Skull” is mentioned in the Bungie Podcast. Marty Knows about the Skull’s location, and they basically confirm that you need to play a melody with the musical hologram rings.


And apparently, the Skull Effect: Unlocks hidden dialogue throughout Halo 3’s campaign.. Dunno how reliable that is though.

You dont get the Hyabusa helmet from completing Campaign or getting the skull from the prophecy rings. You unlock all the hyabusa armor from getting all the skulls. I got the Hyabusa body from the rings.

Finished the campaign on normal after I finally realised that you had to shoot those 3 big rocket things in Chapter 8 rather than jump on them and walk round and round thinking WTF !!

As i can see that many of the xboxic crew are currently using the Hayabusa armour i thought i would tell you that when you get 1000 points for halo 3 you get the security helmet and also another version of the hayabusa armour but it also has a sword on it.

i'd been doing coop w/ a friend on heroic and it took us around 30-40 minutes per level, levels 1-5. tonight i was bored and did level 6 by myself on heroic and it took like an hour and a half to two hours.

it's doable, just longer. sucks too cuz i'm gonna have to go back and do that level again w/ him.

Why are some of you not playing multiplayer untill youve done single? It gets boring that way, mix it up, play some singleplayer, then have a little bit of a battle with some people, anyone not playing live is hardcore missing out

the hardest part of single player compared to coop is ammo.

in coop, if you need more ammo, just die and respawn by your teammate. in single player i found myself running around w/ pistols constantly exchanging them, punching brutes in overshields, etc.

playing on heroic solo, i did level 6. i used the green lazer gun the arbiter starts with, i used the green pistol you can charge, i used the pistol that has a claw on the end of it which is like an auto fire revolver, i sniped, i used the machine gun, i used the battle rifle, i used the giant cannon w/ green balls, i used the one that shoots a steady beam of orange...

i was out of ammo a LOT. i wasted a lot on those two giant things that shot big green lazers at me, near the beginning. i had to take them down by sticking blue grenades to their legs.

Any idea how EXP points are calculated? If I understand you get EXP points by just playing Ranked and Social matches, correct? But do you get more if you play better in that game?

No, and I think you can sometimes get them in custom matches.

In Ranked you get 1 EXP per win. In social free for all, you get 1 EXP if you come in the top 3. In social team games you can sometimes get 1 EXP if you are MVP but are on the losing team. Or if you perform well but are on the losing team. Not sure.

Max EXP from 1 match is 1 point.

I did get that there would be a chance of rescue but by then he could be a really old men and I still think those two character death were really pointless. How come the Chief and co can get hit many times but a few spikes and poor Keys is dead! Halo 2 had a short cutscene after the credits if you had completed campaign on Legendary. As far as I know, Halo 3 has one too.

TRIGGERS top tip. Go to Last Resort. Forge, invulneruable = on, fly around the level delete Fusion Cores, go to base, fill up with cores and other shit, Mongose on top, Plasma Grenade on pile, blasts you out of level. Only worked once, but it was cool.

Finally got me some time to proceed on my normal campaign quest. I was stuck on chapter 3 at the entrance of a tunnel. The brutes kept killing me over and over. Finally got them all down and stepped on a land mine I conveniently placed a few feet away... aargh! What annoyed me the most was the fact that, after clearing the tunnel shield, the chapter was over :X

Got to the first scarab pretty fast in chapter 4, climbed it and must have searched for an hour for that damn generator.. I really really suck :P

I'm now at the last big canon. Hope I will complete it someday... *sigh* so no spoilers about the ending please O-)

I agree, it should have been more about unlocking armour, what weapons you kill with, how many kills you get in total... should have been similar in some way to gears. They wasted so many points on completing game as Legendary, Heroic & Normal. That should have been complete Normal Mode & complete a full co-op game perhaps freeing gamerscore for other things...

655 is just for completing campaign modes

You can get them just as easily by going into Lone Wolves at the same time as a bunch of friends. All you have to do is change your native language to something out of the ordinary like Korean and put on the language filter in matchmaking. Just because people can cheat their way into something, doesn't mean you should restrict the multiplayer achievements to a single gametype.

I never really played too much Lone Wolf type shit in Halo 2. More of a team kind of guy I suppose. Anyways, some of these are going to be damn hard to get, but not impossible. I know that I'd got them all at one point or another ni H2, so I'm safe to assume that I'll get them (in time!!) in H3.
But I just want to say GOOD LUCK to all of you trying to get the Overkill achievement (kill 4 within 4 seconds). I managed to get it the first Lone Wolf game I played!!! No kidding. I'm Canadian. My accent is noticibly NOT british, nor does it have any 'twang' to it that would suggest I'm from the southern states. When I informed the team that I was canadian, not american, they all apologized. I hadn't said more than "The flag is on the left...." and instantly, I was being attacked because I was percieved to be American. One guy even checked my gamercard and happily reported to the rest of the team that I was't lying. WTF is up with that?

Anyways, people, no matter where they're from can be big dicks. It sucks, but whatever man, its just a little trash talk. Get out of the lobby after the match, and leave the pathetic fuckers to jabber on to themselves and no one else.

To be fair, I do think that Bungie's decision not to allow the teams to trash talk each other during gameplay was a great choice. As a guy who played the hell out of Halo 2 and more often than not had to unplugg his mic it is a very welcome feature.

From what I read, MS retains the rights to the Halo brand, so no Halo 3 or any other Halo brand game on anything but a MS console. MS also has an agreement with Bungie to develop all Halo branded games, so no worries about who will do Halo 4. Finally MS has first rights to any new Bungie games and IPs. So in essence, nothing changed. I think Bungie wants to create games other than Halo and that is why this move took place.

i have to say i personally know that not all americans are jakasses and same with british but i think this stared with halo 2 cause u always played with u m8s (usually same country) and the fact that evreyone ended up talking shit at the end of the game(eg, fuck u thers no way u killed me u stupid american)
and after about 5 times of that hapnig all of sudden "i hate americans there all twats"

and it just sort of hung over from there

my worst experince was on halo 2 when me and a mate were playing T.skirmish on halo 2 we were chatting and this american just starts shouting fuck the queen,fuck the british,ect. then he starts following us around and killing us while were trying to play ctf

wonder wht theyll do next id like another fps cause there proven there but at the same time id like them to spread there wings and so we can see what else there good at.

Btw I did some research and apparently you don't need to complete the game on legendary to unlock the extra ending. Just sit through the credits. You'll need that special skull to unlock hidden text though, which apparently reveals the true, true ending.

And anyone who said this game has no framrate issues is definitely a liar.

Since the game's length was mentioned in the Zero Punctuation review, I remember complaining about there being only 9 chapters in the campaign. Then it was Chris who tried his hand at shutting me up by saying that each chapter would take 4 hours.
