That's too hard to judge and very subjective/time consuming. I've had a fiddle around with the settings but cannot see an option to allow only those with ten or more posts to create new threads. Dunno if anyone has more vBulletin skills than me?

Yeah actually im not sure if Vbulletin can stop people creating threads until they reach a certain post count unless an add-on is downloaded and installed... but then I guess that would only encourage a spammer to make 10 posts ... people are so irritating

Yea and I'd love to have a 12" cock (in my pants chris, not from another dude) but that's simply not possible. Same goes for that thriving gaming community on Xboxic. All you need is a couple of hardcore unemployed uber gaming nerds that post news like crazy moterfuckers, but they're rare and very hard to find. Once you have those people, the rest is easy.

When we started out we had an awesome team: Curry, nino, ME and a few other guys.. I think one of them was called Ross or something. Unfortunately Curry got his own company, got way too busy, Nino left, etc.. so it got less enjoyable. Without Curry site development came to a halt which was also quite annoying... New guys were only interested in getting money, money and money which resulted in crappy news posts with lots of text instead of interesting scoops... I could go on and on about this!

Anyway, I don't think Curry will pull the plug anytime soon.

Nor me..lol... but I don't know if the problem is the writing of news or the lack of people submitting or even perhaps 50 news posts a day could go out but no one is around to read it...I personally think this site isn't attractive to look at visually... it doesn't have a top look front page feel about it.

As for pulling the plug: there's neither a need nor wish to do so. The Xboxic server doubles as a core mailserver, so unless some catastrophe occurs it'll keep going for some years to come. In case of that catastrophe I will of course notify every member by email beforehand.

As for thread moderation on new users - that would involve a messy security reorganization in which I'd have to configure a new 'noob' group which autopromotes to 'registered users' upon reaching X registered days and/or Y postcount. As stated before here postcount requirements usually just elicit spammers, so the question is whether the cure is worse than the ailment...?

Yeah but people still check the front page for news, if that got properly up and running again i think we would slowly start to get a new flow of members to the forums and such. i wouldn't mind posting news, for free. I'm around enough to post most days too.

It's also nice to have news back on the front page, but i was wondering if thier was a possibility of user reviews. As in someone can write a review of a game (with a set word count and some form of time limit so we don't see reviews for 2 year old games) then send it to one of the news posters or admins. That person could then edit it (if he/she thinks it's good) and stick it on the front page.
The only reason i ask, is because this site seems to be coming back to life, and this would increase the content of the site, without having to add loads more newsposters. It would also give xboxic members a chance to speak out to share thier oppinions on games as well.
