I was really impressed with the demo, I just finished 5 races or so. The graphics are amazing and are equal to, or even surpass, those of Motorstorm. I've never played a rally game, but the gameplay was really fun and the presentation was great.

Looking forward to this more than Forza 2 :D

I got the demo and gave it a go over even thou I have no intension of getting another racer. I already own PGR3, Burnout Revenge, Cars, NFSC, NFSMW, Test Drive unlimited, and soon will own Forza 2, and PGR4 when it comes out.

And the demo did little to change my mind...that is till I played the hill climb. I love that part of the game so much, I may have to buy this game, just for the hill climbs.

I downloaded this almost as soon as it went up and it took 30 minutes tops. Also Trig, the buggy racing can be done with others on the track.

I actualy only downloaded it late last night....maybe that is why it went to fast. I downloaded several videos also, over a gig in size, and got it all in about 15 minutes. Man oh man, that Elite uber 120GB hard drive is some awesome to own.

Have to say, I'm really impressed. After everything I said in that other racing thread about how I'd never been able to get into Colin McRae games, this is brilliant. The graphics are jaw-dropping, particularly on my preferred in-car view. The first time I slammed it into a wall and the windscreen got cracked, and I had to complete the race whilst trying to see where I was going, that was just brilliant.

Afterwards, I checked out the Forza demo again to put it into context. Forza has a noticeably higher framerate, but after playing DiRT, it looks/feels very unrealistic. Think this will be my next driving purchase.

I dont know, but this CoLiN mCrAe feel a bit arcady compared to the previous colin games. I dont know it might be just me since i havent palyed a rally game for a long long time, rallisport championship 2 was the last rally game i played, and since than i dont remamber any other rally game comeing out... RC2 was arcade but fun.

I just wish they'd let you see the huge crash off the hill when you don't turn sharp enough like in Motorstorm. Every time I fall off a cliff, it cuts back and resets my car. It sucks.

I do like the damage they show when you hit a wall or something. That looks awesome.

Well, the graphics are definitely top notch and all those little extra details (tilting engine while touching the accelerator in the buggy, etc, etc..) make we want to love this game. But the second I get behind the wheel and hit that first corner it just feels like the cars are floating half an inch above the track. I don’t FEEL any contact between the tires and the track and that’s something Forza 2 DOES make me feel due to it’s astonishing physics engine.

yeah I managed to float through several opponents during the Buggy racing which was annoying, and the cars drift far too much IMO. Plus lack of rumble i weird.
