John William "Will" Ferrell (born July 16, 1967[1]) is an Emmy and Golden Globe nominated American comedian, impressionist, writer and actor who first established himself as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, and has since gone on to a successful film career. He has worked as a voice actor as well, including the 50s style father in the animated series The Oblongs.

He is great, but stightly over exposed. He has been in about every other comedy for the past few years. But as long as his movies make me laugh, I will keep watching. :P

One of the benefits of not living in NA, he has little to no exposure here.

The guy is great in Wedding Crashers and Old School :)
Nino

Yeah Wedding Crashers too. Though both Wedding Crashers and Old School aren't as 'Ferrell-heavy' as Anchorman and Talladega.

Great list, minus Jack Black. I fucking hate that fat ugly bastard. He's not funny, he's not a good actor, he's not a good musician.....what the hell is this guy famous for? He stinks.

Personally, Happy Gilmore was his best movie in my opinion.

I don't like his movies either but he was great when he hosted the MTV Movie Awards 2002 (?) with Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Nick Frost, That's that really fat dude right? Fat even by american standardsO-)
I find UK humOR is well kinda weak, dry, and forced.
You guys don't even spell humor right>:)
"Shaun" was kinda funny, "Fuzz" was boring and kinda hurt my ears, plus it ripped off a couple of jokes from "Shaun"... LAZY!
Simon Pegg is slightly funnier.
Anyway, on topic, they pale (no pun intended) in comparison to the Almighty powerhouse that is Ferrell! I liked Blades of Glory, once you get past the overtly gay stuff it is outrageously funny. His next movie Semi-Pro (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0839980/)Is coming out '08 its about Basketball this time, He stars opposite Woody Harrelson, Will Arnett and David Koechner<--- Funny Dude

Isn't the overly gay stuff what makes the movie funny in the first place?

Different sence of homo(u)r mate.
Shaun is a masterpiece! Hot Fuzz refered some jokes to Shaun which I personaly wantd to see and kinda knew they were gona bring in the cornetos.lol
Has anyone seen any Spaced? It was their project before they went into movies.

That's cool, I want to make a thread of the differences in British English and American English. And I don't mean wierd spellings like humour and aluminium but like between truck-lorry, flat-apartment, lift-elevator, you know?

I fear the annonymous assholes might make the thread a little charged, racially. This is not what I want, I want a healthy dialogue of the vernacular differences between two cultures. I think I should...
And Gaz, I am sure there are differences in the words you use and the words the 'Brits use. I just find it extremely interesting how we all started with (sort of) the same language and how cultural influences have altered some of the most common words...

Can't talk for everyone in Canada, but I laughed my butt off at Shaun of the Dead. Looking forward to Hot Fuzz.
I like Brit humour. I don't mind the in-your-face stuff, but that is cheap humour, Brit humour is more toned down, more cerebral. Makes you laugh long after you left the movie teather.

That would get very hard for you Americans if cockney slang was introduced. VERY hard.

For me Will Ferrell's finest hour was in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back as the Federal Wildlife Marshall.
Nick Frost / Simon Pegg are comic geniuses. Tho I guess being British & of the same age as them kinda helps.
As for Spaced.... Unlike Shaun of The Dead / Hot Fuzz, Spaced is really a niche thing. If you loved the films you stand a fair chance of "getting" Spaced.
Tho be warned, I've sat with friends watching Spaced, and although half of the rooms was in fits of laughter the other half just didn't "get it".
Humour truly is a strange beast.

yeah that is a classic! on the bonus features disc theres out-takes of him making up random crap in place of his lines. I think thats one of his strong points.

Improv is one of his strong points, Most of the lines he delivered on SNL weren't written beforehand, he made them up, especially when he did his Pres. Bush impression... The best EVER!!! also has anyone seen the SNL skit where Ferrell was the CEO of a Cat-Toy company... PURE INSANITY!!!!!
