Set to come out just over two weeks here in good old England. Fuck you Bru for having it already, i hate you. Anyway, just thought there should be a thread on the game i suppose as the series has such a special place in my heart:P. So what are peoples thoughts? Those of you (BASTARDS) who already have it, and those of you that have only played the demo thus far, will you be buying it? granted the game isnt truely next gen, sorry this gen (whatever) but i still think it will sell well, fans of the series such as i wont miss out on this, i think the next tenchu game will be truely "current gen". suppose we just have to wait and see really...

I really liked the demo but because I never played a Tenchu game before, I need to get used to the stealth aspect of the game. IT also is a huge bonus for me that most of the games were published by SEGA. :D

I so want to get this and Overlord in the near future because ninjas are special, no doubts about it and midgets fighting sounds funny too. :P

...Or just his arms, remember, emos dont actually want to hurt themselves, they like to make people think they want to hurt themselves so people pay attention to them,
Sam got bored of noone seeing/noticing him, so hes gone all emo, walking in the streets over the shadows, cutting about 2 layers into his arm so people notice...tut indeed.

I played the Japanese demo version and didn't like it much. So I am not buying it, my next game purchase will be in September.

Annoying how the control system on the jap version of the demo is more like the old games than the US/Euro demo, i much prefered the control system on the jap one, its only a couple different buttons, but its more tenchuesque if you get what i mean... (oldschool Tenchu fans obviously)

this demo was a HUGE let down for me.
I enjoyed the original (way back when), but it just seems like the series hasn't progressed since then.
It feels/looks/plays like a dated game.

Maybe, if I saw it on eBay for $30 I would buy it.

"You can extract some fun out of the experience if you use your imagination and approach each level like a ninja, but unless you really, really want to kill some ninjas, you shouldn't waste time and energy trying to make this game fun. The developer certainly didn't."

I think thats probably a good way to put it - but I found the demo to come across very old skool in the way games were made years ago. It just felt like a very old and already done approach to something.

But I only got to play like 1.5 missions, I was really tired.
The control scheme is totally customiZable. You can change the horiz. and vert. invert on the camera, and you can re-map all the buttons. I chose the original scheme, where Y (old triangle on PS1) is use item, LT is Stealh/crouch, LB is block/enhance.

The graphics have never been awesome in any Tenchu game. The CGI cutscenes are improved, but not spectacular.

And how come EVERY TENCHU GAME Starts with killing Echigoya (endearingly referred to by my old college roomates as "itchy-goat-nuts") This guy never fucking dies.

Oh and one thing I am VERY dissapointed in... The gore, or lack of it. In its predecessors, limbs would fly apart, heads would get lopped off and go sommersaulting into the air. And unless I unlock more stealth kills, There only seems to be one animation for stealth killing(two variants, sword sheathed and unsheathed) There are a huge ammount of items to unlock and abilities to earn so it seems like a pretty long game! It's gonna be fighting against The Darkness for my attention tho!
