I know a lot of people are waiting for this game, yet i dont see any thread on it! Out the same day as Tenchu Z and Overloard over here (29th). How many people are gonna get it on release? or wait for the delayed demo for a test first?

Look at it this way Starbreaze made the criminally under appreciated Chronical of Riddik for the xbox. I don't usually feel sorry for people who make more money than me, but I just want want to make sure they keep making what looks to be a steady stream of games that are right my alley(veary original, cinematic, AAA titles)

Sorry, what I meant was that multiplayer isn't that deep since it relies on the transformation feature (from a Darkling into a human and vice versa) which is seen as a gimmick.

They always manage to have cheaper games like The darkness was £29.99 but it stopped because of too many pre orders and Overlord is £28! Play.com have a huge selection of 360 games cheaper now in a sale like Rainbow six for £18, but still I must resist for now.

Ratatouille is a platform game based on the new Pixar movie. It is not bad. One of the better movie-based games out there.

I am playing a bunch of odd games to bring my gamerscore up to 50K by August 1st. I still have 8k to go.

Well, I played the game for quite a bit today and I love the single player so far. Has some of the best deatil in a game I've ever seen. The graphics look awesome. Every little thing is detailed vastly. The multiplayer is crap right now though. Seems like it has good potential, but is terribly laggy and uncontrollable like Prey when it was released. If anyone has any questions about aspects of the game, just let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

This game is a pure Eyegasm. Sorry for the people who sent me messages today, I was completely engrossed with this game!

The graphics are insanity. Especially after playing Tenchu. I must have spent a good 20 mins just walking around the Subway station just checking out the detail on the NPC's. This one hot chick walking around had a lip ring, cut-off shirt, and a freckle on her belly, insanely detailed. The gameplay is good, there is a nice balance with the auto-aim system (your "reticule" is more of a laser dot system) and the auto-aim sensitivity is adjustable, as well as x and y vertices. Buttons are re-configurable but once you get used to Y instead of A being jump, the original scheme feels natural. Having a high auto aim is nice once you have to start shooting out street lights, it is "The Darkness" for a reason.

That reason is fucking sweet too. I have only unlocked my first "darkness power" but I have unlocked two darklings: those motherfuckers are HILARIOUS! (and apparantly have VERY small bladder, or horrible bladder control, they love pissing on corpses) Once you unlock more costumes, your main type of darkling, the Beserker, will have more weapons at his disposal, from a medieval sword, to aluminum baseball bat, to a jackhammer. Outfits can be found either laying around in display cases or by finding phone numbers, going to a pay-phone (in-game) dialing a number (recieving some fucking funny answering machine messages and other weirdos.)

The witty writing starts there and can be heard throughout the games from mobsters saying fucked up shit when they see Jackie running at them with his demon-arms a'flyin to random NPC's in the subways...

I overheard two people debating whether a Moose would agree to sleeping with a human for $10 million. It was quite an in depth debate leading to a cultural insult about the Swedes. I nearly pissed my pants.

Much of the story is delivered during loading screens, quite artisticly as well. And the cutscenes are choice-driven, leading me to believe there could be multiple story arcs. The cutscenes even let you take control of the camera to a limited extent, switch back to first person, kind of a watered down MGS3. During the initial opening scene, try playing around with the look function, lots of stuff to see! And WOW speaking of opening scenes! This one takes the fucking cake, pie, the whole fucking dessert tray!

So far (I'm about 3.5 very leisurely hours into it) it is shaping up to be a terrific game. From execution moves, to your demon arms fighting over the hearts you devour, to the awesome sound and dialogue, cream inducing graphics, they are delivering on their promises! I haven't tried out the MP, those complaints of lag are scaring me, (when it comes to lag, I suffer horribly!) however, I think that Starbreeze will keep a close eye on it, tidy up the multiplayer like Prey's was; and possibly add more content... If anyone is excited at all about this game and a little "on the fence" I'd say get your ass off the fence and fucking get this game! There is no need to be standing on fences when this game is out!

I'm really liking the game so far- the graphics are amazing, awesome voice acting and art direction, and really kickass gameplay. The controls were a little clunky before I turned up the sensitivity, but other than that, I'm really having a blast.

Must say im kinda dissapointed with the length of the main storyline, yeah the game is bigger with the side stuff, but i done hardly any of that, i would have finished the game last night if i didnt stop, im trying not to do it so fast, but im on the last part of the game, im gonna end up finishing it really really quickly though i suppose thats just an excuse to go do it again on hard. So happy i didnt touch easy.

Apart from that this game is fucking brillient, from the small details on the NPCs to the weird chatter between darklings. I so wish this game was longer.
Really should give multiplayer a try...havnt even touched it yet:P

I took down a chopper in the turkish baths after getting the briefcase. Just when you start hearing the engine in the main room aim a black hole at the open ceiling to knock it down.

Ahh nice, know if checkpoints delete your save file? Silly question i know but i've wanted to go back to older parts of the game but been too worried incase my i lose my game...

Well what it deletes is the progress within a level so if you were in the middle of a level then you would have to start it again.So you dont lose the chapter you finished but any checkpoints within the level your in. Maybe go back to those sections after finishing the game like I did.

Just a warning, the multiplayer is a huge disaster. It has potential, and would be good with some fixing up. I fooled around with it, but I don't think its fun at the moment. Good ideas, but bad servers and add aiming make the online a dissapointment for me.

well i got it Thursday morning, completed it about 10ish last night (seeing as its saturday now) and i pretty much didnt stop playing, like 10/11 hours thursday and 9 or so friday, usually takes me that long to do a game, just with others i dont play that much and so constantly, i just got too hooked on the darkness, i couldnt stop or pace myself, i just HAD to carry on, i HAD to know what happens... But kinda, but i dont find that many games that i'm into that are really that long so im used to it...

Thats really amazing that both you and me got it on thursday adn finished it yesterday, but it was not that complicated.

I did do it on normal as well but tried a bit of hard after finishing it in the afternoon and I tell you it is tough. There is less live and ammo for the guns but the enemies get tougher, good luck. :P

Bah Bah Bah Bah, but so bloody worth being a sheep!!! This game is SICK, Off the Hook whatever u wanna say the graphics blew me away, they kept the style they had in The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay with the FPS to 3rd person I haven't played a great deal but attention to detail is beyond belief relections in the mirrors quality cutscenes ragdoll physics i love it and i didnt pay for it either with my trade in's ;) but i did get ID'd :O

Darkness is nothing short of a awesome game. One of the best games i have played in awhile. The story is moving and the game play is fantastic. Well worth the 60 bucks. :)

I finished the game last night and really enjoyed the single player- it had one of the best stories in a FPS that I've played in a long time.

Got this game today and i'm currently around 60% through it after 6hours play, its an awesome game, story, graphics and pacing are all way above average. Haven't tried multiplayer yet but might be interesting being able to go the creatures as well as the humans. Hope it gets the sales it deserves!

Bought the game on Saturday because I just couldn't wait for XBOXIC to review it. In a word, awesome. This game may have faults, what game doesn't, but I'm having fun playing it and that's how I judge a title.

The Darkness is a refreshing change from Gears, which I have been playing incessantly since November. This game is a must-play; if you can't or don't want to buy it (although I suggest it) go ahead and rent. Well worth a look.

The game took me two days to complete, got it thursday, done by friday, its really quick to do man, though those two days i did play it pretty much from return from work till bed, a good 11 hours one day 10 or so the next...

Just finished it and now I wanna play it through on hard. Sweet game and I liked the story. I beat it in like 8 hours though and did 69% or so of the side quests. Still need to max out my demon arm so I get the Darkness Master achievement, but I don't like the arm much cause it doesn;t work alot of times for me lol.

If you hold the button for doing the demon art for a few seconds and then leave it in front of an enemy it should work everytime. Remember to break those lights before for it to work even better. It should rip a hole right through every enemy you encounter. :)

If youre going for an enemy, look slightly up, when trying to get people with demon arm and there are other things on the floor, it will tend to go for the floor things, just look up a bit and you will impale those fuckers (Demon arm is my favourite darkness power) easy once you get the hang of it:)

I prefer the Black hole because of the effect it creates when you see people trying to run away but it just sucks them in, and off they go flying around like they are inside the eye of a tornado. :P

Hoping someone can help me out. I'm stuck trying to find the man on the cross in the WWI area. I keep searching and searching but every time theres a burst of lightning I'm taken to some hill. Am I in the wrong spot and supposed to back track to the first no mans land area that I was in before reaching the town?

Thats where youre told to go, the hills, and thats where the cross is, though its not an actual cross, just look for a large wood thing with a couple people on it, it IS there.

A few people have asked me about this, though i didnt have any trouble finding it...
