View Full Version : Mario Party 8 Question

We recently got a Wii at my office (suh weet!), and we got Wii Sports / Wii Play / Warior Ware Smooth Moves.

We also got Mario Party 8 but it hasn't been opened yet. I told the higher ups I'd do a little research first. Because the Wii isn't something we expect people to spend hours on end using. Instead it's more like a smoke break, a 15 minute chance to relax and have a laugh.

Is Mario Party 8 going to be too long a game for this type of scenario? Is there a way to access the mini games within Mario Party 8 without actually playing the board game, without expecting to play for a few hours? If there is a way to access each mini game directly then it's a no brainer and I'm going to open this. But if you have to play the board game each time I'm thinking this will be something we should return, and maybe pick up Monkey Ball for it's mini games.

Thoughts?

Yea you can access the minigames in the 'party tent' :)

MARIO PARTY 8 IS UTTER CRAP !!!!! nah I dont know:p let me know how it is, I just can't imagine the 8 installment of the series would be that good, considering previous installments..

Okay lets get this straight-> this is the 8th mario party. So far i've played one that was worth the $50,- and that was back in the days on the N64. After that they released 6 piles of repetetive crap. Now this game does that again, only now it brings in wii-mote controls? Should anyone spend $50,- on something that really isnt that good, because it's basically the same as all the previous games. Besides, its clear in my post that I was just f'cking around so don't be offended because you think the game is great ...

And whoever made that cartoon should be crowned king xD

Well I wouldn't want to spend £40 on something that isn't good. That's why I don't have a Wii.

And that comic, well that's obviously Penny Arcade.

There's been 8 Tony Hawk games now, but those were well received after Mario Party.
