To be fair, during my Contemporary Art course at University, we had a very long discussion on graffiti and if it could be considered art or was it just a crime. The conslusion was that it was indeed art. Graffiti is self expression, but that does not make the act of paiting graffiti on property that does not belong to you any less a crime. that and I have been reading a lot of Chuck Norris Jokes as of late. 8)7

Actually again that was from my own experience at University. 60% of my fellow "artist" classmates where French and spoke just like that. The thing was that they considered only their preferred art form the only true form. The argument on this thread reminded me of that. That is why this was not a target on anyone specific, as it was aimed at my University experience.

Sorry Nayse-BTC, as others mentioned, not all comics are about you. Anyway, if it was about you, I would have had to draw a cigarette somewhere. :)

why can't people do graffiti on big pieces of blank paper? why does it HAVE to be on a building? If their such artists (which I believe they are) they should be able to use any medium, not just ones that piss people off. :?

But that gave me an idea and i worked with the local council and we had a graff day at the skate park which was fun and a lot better we have theses guys who use paper cows as there tag

erm...I said BUS STATION...I've lived in Plymouth for 26 years and as of yet not seen 1 bus with gaffiti on it - people aren't that well developed down this way. It's all on pillars and walls only - but now there is none! Plymouth is cleaning itself up nicely

we do canvases, legal murals for the council and companies etc-
but plain concrete builing and underpasses look shit, we like to add some colour. what and where youll tag is different for different writers; im not religious, but i wont tag churches or mosques. i also wont fuck around with peoples buildings(mostly just council and government stuff), . - if you live in a crackden im sprayin the whole damn thing.
the truth is we also like vandalising to a degree- you cant beat a night out painting trains or bombin the streets, running from squad, getting drunk n high then doin 10 foot letters across a rooftop of one of the biggest buildings in town. for shits n giggles. regular artists wil never get that buzz from putting there art somewhere 'its not suppose to be', or from other writers seeing that graff, appreciating it and then trying to beat it.
and dont be stupid man, graffiti gets used to sell everything from consoles and games to shampoo. the works of graffiti artists or paper or canvas go for huge sums of money now.
we are the mainstream fool.

Love the comics Chris, you have a good style. Max, you got some funny ones, but Chris has been trying to nicely ask you to not use his style, and I understand what he means, cause it kind of strips his creativeness in his comics if everyone rips off his characters.

chris (ohio) is right (unfortunely,) uk chris ripped off that cynide n happiness completely- but his writing is original and actually funny. everyone else here has made cartoons that are kinda like what a 7 year old might do if he got bored and tryed to copy cyanide n happiness (sorry guys, no offense but you should think of a joke to put in rather than an odd violent punchlineless strip-it kinda reminds me of tapped lil kids psychology pictures) whereas his are just those characters with pretty joke shit around them. thryons are the ms paint characters (im sure you can just get those premade on clipart sunnyjim) and he traces someone elses character at the end, but at least he has his own setup and structure.

so, try harder people- and chris(uk) make some new characters of your very own then all these will be stuck with the old ones, and youll be worthy of a sunday funnies strip.

Wait, no that didnt happen, because thats not the case, as you said before, character design isnt important to you, so it wont be an issue for you to take 2/3 minutes to make new ones, seeing as yours are an exact rip of mine, like, everything, and i think its different with the cyanide and happiness stuff, thats a different site and its the actual comic, where as we are all on here together, so seeing one person do a comic then seeing someone else come up with characters that if went copied and pasted then changed a bit, had one of my characters next to it so it could be copied by hand. Im currently in the top 12 out of 1500 people who applied for a show going to ITV called 'Adventure' where you travel the world and followed with a camera. It will end up only 3 men & 3 women going so they have to cut 6 so far. Im waiting on my final selection interview for next week...but not holding out much hope..it's a straight 50/50 chance now.

Are you sure you didn't just delete the shortcut to Paint or something? It wouldn't be easy to delete the whole programme by accident.

Anyway, a quick search of Google found a free painting programme for kids (don't be put off by that, it doesn't look much different to Paint). Check it out here (http://www.tuxpaint.org/), and we will have more comics in no time, right?

Looked at it, its just like all the others i tried to get, they wont let you draw pixel by pixel, which is how i do things a fair amount of the time, so it doesnt work, i really just need paint back, and no i didnt just delete a shortcut:P i was screwing about drunk trying to free some space on my harddrive and deleted accessories... Yes, i've done it all, believe me, its definatly not on my computer, i'm not silly:P everytime i try open something in paint is says something like "does not have the program associated with this file". Its really not there.

Did you read about XNA 2.0 being released. It will allow you to access all the tools for online play as well.

LOL...I wish I was a lot better with XNA so I could show you my flying characters which drops shit on spammers. I have managed to make 1 level with torque X (the thing which made Marble Madness). Im yet to work out how to put points and a life bar in...(it so fucking boring too, but I'll keep at it) also Torque X doesn't port to the 360 it deploys to windows. Needs xtra coding to make it go the 360 from XNA which I've not worked out how yet (aarrhhh) You need to be a fucking genius. I hope XNA 2 is a lot easier than this...but still I should be pleased I managed 1 level so far...
