i have a live track of "whatever" by godsmack that i got when i purchased their cd "faceless." when i first got it, everything was fine and dandy but now i no longer have the license on my new computer or the old one, and the site that hosted the license no longer exists. is there anything i can do or is this file useless now?????

I'd say pretty useless best bet is either I-tunes, or search a p2p network if you want the file back.

that's the thing, i looked on limewire and stuff but nobody has it. there is a live version on there that a bunch of people have but it's not nearly the same one. the thing i am most pissed off about is that i got the damn song legally, and now i cant even use it.

umm if you can get it to burn onto a cd somehow you can re-rip it off the CD as another file format and it erases the DRM thats how i get rid of the DRM stuff on my songs 8)

Ya, it's a good idea to rip DRM from songs, or you can download a software to complete this job which I think it is more convenient.
One of these outstanding DRM software is Daninusoft Media Converter Pro (http://www.wmatomp3-converter.com/digital-media-converter-pro.html). The reason I list it here is the newest version has modified its disadvantage:
1. Be compatible with Vista OS.
2. Supports all iTunes DRM files.
And with its original advantages:
1. High conversion speed.
2. Supports many other popular standard video and audio files.
3. Friendly-use interface.
It could be a good choice for DRM remove and Media conversion.

So you decide to register here and kick up a topic which had been put to rest a year ago? I think trj156 sorted that problem out by now..

Yeah, ignore me. Everyone does. It's the reward you get for sitting in the dark corners of the computer room, developing away..
Oh wait.. Rival doesn't. He picks on me :(
