BTW....if I was a spammer or smapperish....would I have actually bothered to set up an avatar and my actual gamertag?

I get a lot of spammers on my site (mostly spam bots...I hates em to pieces!) and I ban them immediately.... They don't set up avatars, sigs, or even profiles.....and all their email addresses end in .cn!

We've had spam that talks like real people before, and we've had a LOT of spam lately so i'm cautious, but i wouldn't wanna quickly ban what i think to be a bot if it actually is a person. We'll see how this one goes:)

Nope... its a spammer - just google their registered email addy's here and reports of spam on many other forums get listed on Stop Forum Spam. That site is just amazing...

Hey guys, I am not a spammer.. I am a real person!! How are you guys doing. My name is Wade. I am from Chattanooga, TN (US) I am a family man with two girls and three boys ranging from 22 to 13.

I love to game. My favorites are FPS and sports genre but will try just about anything. Currently talking to Niels about getting icgamers active again. Hopefully that will work out and we can get this site going again. I think it has great potential and looks like you guys are working your butt off.

Well in the mean time whats going on around here. Anything you guys would like to see happen? Give me ideas, suggestions, etc.

I will be updating the playstation and nintendo sites for now since it looks like the xbox side is taken care of. I was assuming icgamers was pulling all the info from the three sites but guess not, but maybe thats something we can do instead, instead of having essentially four different sites. I was the founder of GDN (gamersdailynews.com) and ran that for three plus years, until I made a fatal mistake and gave up too much control and had the rug pulled out from under me. They have since destroyed the site and I think it looks awful and has very slow load times. But have since been running another site for chefs, while taking my time looking for a new gaming site that would be worth it. I think I may have found it.

For me, a great example of a multi platform news site is one whole site rather than 3 different urls, the best example of that I can think of is how gamesradar.com section it.

Well good luck on the Nintendo & PS3 Front :) I guess you may be aware already of Xboxic being advertised on the US Console Dashboard soon - that is major coverage, and hoping it makes a LOT of people aware of us.

Believe me the last thing I would do is get rid of anyone, especially anyone who is still very much involved. I am still looking and getting ideas for the site, so I haven't nailed anything down yet. But if you guys have ideas, I am all for them, you have been around so why wouldn't I use you? Do you know if google news picks up anything off the sites?

Thats a huge help when google news spiders the site and lists it directly on google. Its a great traffic builder

I personally have every console, so I can help anywhere when it comes to reviews. I just noticed you guys are on the other side of the pond which gives us a good dynamic also

I don't want you guys to think I am just coming in to change everything, thats not what I am about. I want to do what we (noticed I said we) think is best to move the site(s) forward and better us all. Do you ever attend any of the expos/trade shows?

We need to figure out how to draw those who are registering into the forums and participate. One idea that worked really well was giveaways/contests. I have given away things such as game titles to consoles. Any thoughts on this avenue?

Sorry if I seem to be all over the board, but I have ideas coming out all over the place, so please excuse the randomness of the posts

Im not saying your lying - just none of us know you, so from our side of things we just want to speak to someone we know first. This site is in need of change and he did mention awhile back about possibly re-vamping it - so I just want him to confirm with me that you're that guy!

And lost finished airing in the US a little while ago, streams should be up. I know its on over here tomorrow night.. But i'm a LOST freak. So i'm gonna sit and watch that for a while, by the time that ends it'll be nearly 5AM, very nearly bed time for me.

God my sleeping pattern is SO screwed up right now.. Got another 2 and a half weeks off work from the doctor today... I need to go out clubbing SO much... Even a pub... Been stuck in this house for weeks... 2 weeks left.. CABIN FEVER!!

They are spam surely. They all have the same details. Their xbox and psn are always their forum name, Wii is 123456 and biography is man.

Haha... also the new registration form which checks if you're a human being, has definately cut down on the spam bots!

There was usually 15 - 20 per day registering and listed in 'users awaiting email confirmation' - now for the first time in ages there are no people in that category. I can also see 3 new real people registrations - one of which is a front page regular, but he's not posted anything on the forums yet!
