Guys get banned from Live for playing Halo 3 Epsilon!

This is hilarious, I posted on it yesterday on my blog -some n00bs actually got their hands on illegal copies of Halo 3 -and started playing it online 8)7 for the world (prob. Bungie and Microsoft testing still) to see their gamer tags. Next day they get blocked, and then they turn to the Xbox forums (links included to the thread) to complain, until suddenly they realize what happened...LMFAO so funny. The gamertag is | SCAR | and now he's banned until 12/31/9999 LOL

yeah the 9999 would so be in your face -I can just imagine staring at that. I don't think it's as easy as getting a new gamertag -it's all linked to your account with live, so credit card, name, address. I think he'll have a lot more trouble (using his mom maybe lol) getting back -oh the shame! Playing Halo 3 under your mom's name!

IMO if anyone is dumb enough to get an illegal copy of an EPSILON test of a game and doesnt go on appear offline or something to hide it, deserves a thread dedicated to their stupidity = appearing offline wouldnt have done anything, the whole time i was playing there was debug text running in the right corner and also the text in the bottom middle saying when i logged in and what my GT was. even if i appeared offline they would have still seen that.

Bungie can't track them down for saying something. They allready DID say something, because i'm sure that if that was the case that they couldnt even mention that they got the beta.

it was pretty sweet, i only played by myself except for 1 game of 2 player co-op on tsavo highway with a friend, since matchmaking had 0 players in it i had to play my own customs and forge.

Forge: not too many options... you get to place any vehicle, weapon, power up anywhere on the map, change spawn points and add teleporters, but other than that not much to do...

Sandtrap: they say its "the largest map ever" well, i dont think so... sure its bigger than coag but the actual playing area isnt too big, if you go outside the barriers (marked by flashing light posts) grenades will start popping out of the ground and blowing you up every 10 seconds, the elephant is cool, very big with 3 turrets and 2 mongooses, however it moves really slow.

Last Resort: very cool map, the graphic detail on this map is amazing, the sand and plants *drool* the inside of the base is much larger now, instead of a gate you cant walk through or drive through (zanzibar halo2) its a low gate you can jump over but not drive through until you open it from inside.

Campaign: the epsilon only has one level, Tsavo Highway. first i played it alone on normal difficulty, i got to a certain part where there were 2 wraths and about 6 brutes on choppers, by myself it took about 20 minutes to finish. then i played co-op with a friend, i got to the same part and there were 4 wraiths and about 12 choppers. so the more people you have in co-op the more enemies you will have.

Other stuff i noticed was the gametypes Infection, described as the halo 2 zombies, and Hide and seek were built in. some of the armor choices were pretty cool looking, you can also change the voice from male to female.

The saved films are amazing, you can pause fast forward, take screeenshots, move the camera, cut out any parts you want saved. and more.

it depends. i think you could create a whole new account or something but they couldve possibly ip banned him which would suck though i suppose he could always set up a proxy or some shit. anyways, ya thats pretty dumb, but ive learned that a lot of people are pretty fucking dumb over the years. if youve ever read those "world's stupidest criminals" books or watched those tv shows that do the same thing then youll know.

btw, the world will probably still exist in 9999, and it's likely that humanity will too (assuming we don't nuke ourselves into oblivion.) but anyways, my point is that some scientists have estimated that the sun will probably last another half billion years, some say longer and others say shorter, but i think its pretty likely that the earth and humanity will last another 7 thousand years given the overall scale of geologic time. pretty crazy to think about though - 7 thousand years from now. that would make us like more ancient then jesus, the romans, greeks and even babylonians i think, in relation to how old they are to us now. just imagine the gaming experience!

ummm Well I hope your not that Stupid cause I know someone who STILL has Epsilon and isnt banned cuz he is smart and by the way NO he doesnt work for xbox or microsoft in anyway. All you have to do is UNPLUG your internet wire or wireless adapter OUT of your 360 then play the game Offline of course but custom games were still available through system link and single player was normal. HA




Its the Epsilon, you cant play anything offline.

= appearing offline wouldnt have done anything, the whole time i was playing there was debug text running in the right corner and also the text in the bottom middle saying when i logged in and what my GT was. even if i appeared offline they would have still seen that.


its only a ban on the console/gamertag you played it on, i personally have 4 360s and my dad has one of his own, all of which work fine online, and yes, i can easily sign up for a new tag under the same address and name and IP.

The Halo 3 Epsilon test is not unsigned... im sure you read the story where a woman that works at MS got he son the epsilon then a couple guys stole his account and did the second profile glitch to get the beta off him, well they let some people do it then it blossomed into a good 100 people glitching into it, and i was one of them.

There such a thing as scheduled deletion, he needs to go into test network connection, then more info, then press Y for codes...a pop up appears with WXY&Z codes. If Z is 0000-0000 then he is not scheduled to be banned in the next update. If his Z code has other digits he's in ban waiting...lol

The epsilon beta was no way near as stupidly done as CoD4. Microsoft have banned people, will ban people - but because their phone people are so stupid you only have to call up & complain to unban anyway.

LOL, trouble is I can't play you at that yet cos of your annon gamertag. I would need to join one of your matches whilst im in appear offline cos others would join through dashboard. I tried getting on yesterday, but it all went to fuck - wireless router crashed! and as always it happens really late and checking all the splitter things, & phone sockets does my head in.
