Okay, it's final and wiritten in stone.
I'm getting a PS3 for xmass, but, i've been looking at the bundles and im not sure which ones as, tbf, i havnt really played many games on the PS3.
So, the ones im considering are:
http://img.game.co.uk/ml/3/3/2/3/332364ps.gif
http://www.game.co.uk/PS3/Hardware/HardwareBundle/~r332364/PlayStation-3-with-FREE-Motorstorm-Resistance-Formula-One-and-SIXAXIS/
http://img.game.co.uk/ml/3/3/2/3/332371ps.gif
http://www.game.co.uk/PS3/Hardware/HardwareBundle/~r332371/PlayStation-3-with-FREE-Motorstorm-Resistance-Need-for-Speed-and-SIXAXIS/
And to be fair, there the only good ones I can find.
Definately going to buy WarHawk to go with it, but if anyone can find another bundle just post it up, or tell me which one of these to go for.
Thanks :D

Ive checked around and all the packages on lots of websites are all the same price, so this must be a standard thing. The only difference is with gamestation.co.uk you can choose which games you want from a selection.

Wait, there will be new bundles soon with more recent titles like Heavenly Sword (available in France already, UK will certainly follow).

Yeah it's worth waiting, that's what Im doing with xbox360 elite...everyone I know at the minute is trading theirs in by 30th September deadline just to get £125 off. I'm waiting for a good elite bundle - at the minute theres one with 2 games & an extra controller for £309.00 !! that's great, but I know there'll be better

Dont bother with either of those deals, got a better one. Virgin megastores, PS3 + 2 contollers(90% sure cant remember) resistance:fom, motorstorm, 3 blue ray movies of your choice (choice of 5, and selection is decent, eg. taladega nights, casino royal and black hawk down....) £400

BlueRay movies are bad value in a console bundle. Don't fall for that cheap stunt. The retail for like €28, but you only get 2 hours entertainment avg. out of them. Very bad. Go for games, not movies. The movies that qualify for those bundles usually suck and you have seen them all multiple times already.
Go for bundles with new games and hardware extras like the BR remote, extra cables, controllers or whatever.

Ah nonononono. Features are missing from the 40GB ones, such as no back compat. on PS2 games.
Can you play PS2 games online with the PS3?

I really dont know...dont own any PS2 games that had online stuff...mine was just golf, golf, TombRaider, Crash games, few racing ones...in 5 years I only had about 8 PS2 games. I didn't take to it...

I can't imagine why you would want to play PS2 Crash games.
The original Crash games were soo much better. And CTR made a decent alternative to Mario Kart.

Yeah you can play online PS2 games quite comfortably, so long as the servers haven't been closed. I wouldn't get the 40GB pack, the 60GB reduced price is a much better offer, buy it now.

Cool, until a new PS3 Socom is released (Any news of that?) i'll play Socom 3 online from time to time.
Still browsing the bundles, Think I may just settle for the R:FOM, Motorstorm and F1 bundle, then buy a few games.

Just play your ps2 games on your... ps2?
As far as bundles, go for the latest and greatest. If it doesn't include RFOM i'd definitely recomend renting it (no sense in buying since the online community for it 1. sucked and 2. probably was murdered by Warhawk.), as it honestly has the best single player campaign i've played on a next gen system (gears / halo3 / this / call of duty (COD games don't count as you know the story is...ww2)).
I hear motorstorm is fantastic but it's not my style of game so i never tried it. Heavenly Sword i rented and am enjoying a lot.
By xmas there may be a bundle including Ratchet&Clank.

Well, it's good but it's not that amazing. I've enjoyed other games more than Warhawk this year, or even this month.

I would recommend Warhawk definitely, I enjoyed it a lot. Other than that, I'd say Motorstorm (fun for a few weeks), and then... well, nothing to be honest (I haven't played anything else, but some say Resistance is good). Augustus Bot will come back with something, but when I prefer the 360 pad over the PS3s, and the Achievements for 360, I always buy all multi-platform games for the 360. Plus Unreal Tournament has been delayed so I can't even say look forward to that.
I bought mine with the sole intention of using it as a Blu Ray player, and so far, it's doing a damn good job of collecting dust and playing said movies. But give it a while, it'll come good.

no i agree. achievements are fun. i'm enjoying heavenly sword but i know im missing a lot of the little gold markers per level, and i really dont care. its not like i get anything for getting them all ;).
it'll be nice when home implements trophys. it would be REAL nice if somehow they slipped some code in there already to track what you've been beating, but i doubt it. i'll have to beat resistance all over again when trophys come out, but no worries. i only beat it on the 3rd of 4 difficulty levels (if i remember correctly.). I'll beat it on the 4th for the trophies.
edit: this is for xmas right? you should ask for a 65$ gift card to some game place so when metal gear comes out at the start of next year you dont have to pay for it.

I know the title, I just keep calling it enigma for some reason because of that bastard backwards E on the cover.
And, 1. all the people who work in game stores over here are male or are ugly as fuck.
2. I DONT ASK THEM SHIT except the ones I know because then I get free stuff and staff discount :)
