So this game's been out for awhile and i've seen NO Tomb Raider thread. WTF?
Anywho, while i had my nine days of Xbox360 glory, we bought Tomb Raider, and i think it's abosultely awesome. A ) Lara is hot, her costumes are really cool B )The motocycle? Freaking awesome C ) It's actually kinda tricky, some of those puzzles are.
Now while the camera angle sucks at times (moving without you moving it? EH? :( ), i still think it's a really cool game.
As a girl in gaming (officially now that i've beat around on a 360 for awhile :D ), i think it's tops :)

I loved playing with you. Too bad it didn't have any multiplayer so I could shoot you up.

Actually for those of us that played the first title long ago this feels like nostalgia :D Back in the days the free-floating dynamic camera was really a feat that they had managed to capture for absolute world freedom blahblah and it felt really good ;)
During the demo I didn't have any situations where I really thought it didn't work, camera is just something that can't always work perfectly in a 3rd person game.

I think it was good most of the time, but when it did decide to go out, it was at horrible times. You need a perfect camera the whole time while you're jumping around from ledge to ledge. While jumping from one ledge to the other in mid air, I don't need the camera to flip around so that i'm going in the opposite direction from where I'm trying to jump to.

Like Chris said, it's really not that often, but it DOES go out and it messes you up. It's not a big enough deal to make me dislike the game at all, just the one minor annoyance i found in playing it.
And heck yeah, when i move, 100% Female Clan is on the way ;)

Great game, but can anyone give me advice on how to beat that big snake on London level? Have only managed to get it to smash the tower on the right once! Well hard.

Soooo i'm guessing by the lack of responses that either very few people bought this game, or they just didn't enjoy it.
SUP PEOPLE?!
Do we not like Tomb Raider?

I wll get tomb raider.... when it is in the budget corner. Cause I dont gonna spend 60 euro on a game that you finish in 10 hours.
my golden rule for games is: A game is worth is money if you play more hours on it then it costs you in euros.

I'm with cybermans on this one: I was positively surprised by the demo but it's not worth 60 bucks for me. Budget corner for me it is, if at all :)

Sure, some of you are prolly right about the not buying a rushgame, but I did :+
Back when I was just a little boy (:P) I was absolutly addicted to TR 1 and 2, but since than I haven't touched Lara... TR:legends just looked and felt good, so I thougth it was time for 9 hours of ultimate pleasure :P I still need all artifacts and the time challenges, so I'm good for another couple of days. I could always sell 'm if I never play it again.

I didn't find this game interesting.
This game isn't very good for me. Maybe it's because I simple minded and lazy, but who cares...not me:P . The puzzles in this game are extremely annoying and somewhat 'difficult'. Okay, maybe I am as simple minded as Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb from G4's X-Play...but that's not the point here. This game is not fun, I did not enjoy it. There are some cool parts like the motorcycle and what not... but that isn't enough to pull me in.
Sorry, Laura:( .

Well, to be honest those puzzles were a bit to easy if you ask me... Some took a couple of minutes to figure out but 9 out of 10 were as simple as dropping some boxes or balls (giggle moment again Curry? :P) on the pressure pads on the floor.
The motorbike was kind of fun for a minute or 2, but nothing more than that IMO. I don't see Crystal Dynamics/Nixxes Software making a full racing game any time soon. And if they do, I don't see them making any money on it.
It was just too easy, even on hard. You just have to pull both triggers (lock & shoot), press A (don't let go) and stay next to the train and wait a couple of minutes. You may have to dodge a tree or 2, but other than that..... just too easy. I could've forgiven them if they'd put in some more stuff like this, maybe some snowboarding/speedboat/hanggliding/jetski? Than the sloppy gameplay would've made sense.
But that's the 2 things I thought that could've been better. I still think this game ROCKS!

Lol well then Chris and i must be a bit dull minded, because it took us a while to figure out a few of those puzzles. Not to mention that i have a hard time as a beginner pushing more than 1 button at a time haha. Makes it a bit more complicated :(
A speedboat would've been awesome though, you are correct.

Together with Neejoh we have completed the game in 12 hours. It was a fun game, but a bit to easy, even on the "hard" modus. We are now busy with finding all the bronze, silver, and gold statues. And after that we have to do the time trail. For what I've heard the time trails are the hardest achievements to get.

I played the ORIGINAL Tomb Raider this week, and I VIVIDLY remember back in the day saying to some of my buddies 'ya know... if games could just look as good as these CG cutscenes, I think I'd be satisfied...' Well, I have to say, in more ways than one, the IN-GAME graphics have actually surpassed those old CG cutscenes.... amazing... but... the bar has raised... and I'm not satisfied... lol... I guess we're all a bunch of impossible pricks.
And taking it back to the 3rd person camera issue... who doesn't think that the Splinter Cell series has the most responsive camera control out there? I f*ckin love the way thos games handle... Like a new Porsche
p.s- I love Solid Snake... but I'm pretty sure Sam Fisher can take him... he's got 'OLD MAN STRENGTH'... you can't f*ck with old man strength... I think my uncle Glen could still kick my ass...

Hmm?!? No one took the time to answer your question? That's sad :X
I've battled the snake myself a couple of hours ago and killed it with some swearing and stuff ;) The trick is to shoot those towers one at a time and when the snake comes to check it out, quickly use your hook and pull the lever. It'll hit 'm in the head and he will get pissed. Do this 4 times (4 towers) and voila. The snake turns in to a sort of ladder. You'll see :P
You know, I'm really enjoying this game.. takes me back in the day when I played the first tombraider game. Ofcourse I had the nude patch installed back then but with clothes on she still rocks! :P

Got Tomb Raider today and it's like fun and all, but erm please is there a more obvious way to skip cinematics than pressing Start->Up->A? The cinematics are cool and all, but the 5th time you're doing the same time trial that'll get on your nerves mmmkay? Lemme just hammer frigging A or sumthing.

I've skipped them all with pressing A..... (after pressing start and up ofcourse :+)
Finnished the game yesterday and enjoyed it very much, allthough a bit on the short side imho.
edit: what are you doing timetrials for? You've only completed the first level!8)7:P Tip: Finnish the game and then do a timetrial on the last level under 4 minutes (should be easy, 'cause it's only a boss level). You'll get the "kill with one shot" option and should rip some precious minutes off of your times 8)

yes tomb raider is a good enough game with an adequate camera, easy to pick up etc etc but i still long for the good old tomb raider days from 10 years ago. Just remembering the dinosaurs, music, great level design and demanding puzzles from tomb raider 1... and yes the annoying camera and frustrating save system!
Funnily enough the only time i got stuck on legend was the first level "see saw" puzzle, it made me laugh when i solved it by accident!

Yeah well I just don't see the point in recultivating a technique that was required in 1990 because of lacking computer power. If it's a cutscene, make it a fucking cutscene without me having to press the exact right button at the exact right time.
