Hey,
I'm having a problem connecting to Live. I'm using ICS to connect. The 360 tells me it failed the IP test. What could be wrong?

Thanks.

PS: I'm running Vista, could that be a problem?

vista shudnt be the problem....make sure ur connection is hooked up as so:

Modem to router, then router to computer, 360, etc. also make sure u installed ur router with the cd it came with. other then that, just make sure ur firewall is off, i always have mine off.....and make sure ur able to share ur isp with other people,

When you do the network connection test on system settings... and it says IP failed... go into the MORE INFO section and press Y to bring up the codes...

You should now see - w x y z - codes. If your Z codes is not 0000 0000 then your console or tag has been banned from Live.

The router is wireless, so does that matter? Also, I couldn't have been banned, because I've never been on Live before. Actually, the console has never been connected to the Internet before.

I've never thought about the firewall. I'll try turning it off, see what happens.

Also why we're on the subject of 'Live' - may have been mentioned before somewhere that Divx only works with console online so usage can be monitored. (apparently)

Feels like they're treating us like 5 year olds.

Play online so daddy can make sure you aren't doing anything bad okay? Good boy.

So either that's why I couldn't play an old movie I have on Divx... or it's just not supported for the format all my movies are in that I have in DivX format.
