Not you again ...
The last time I checked the demo was free :?. It's exclusive to Gold members for a week and once that is over Silver members can join in the fun as well ... again, for free.
You make an attempt at making the PS3 seem better than the 360 and you FAIL.

I love when PS3 Fanboys bitch about the 360 and then end up having more games for the 360 than the PS3, as is usually the case with most PS3+360 owners I know.
Even the fact that they have one defeats their purpose of being a fanboy for the PS3.
Dumbass.

Why would you make the effort to hook your 360 up to Live if you aren't going to have Gold? Also, maybe it's partially because they don't want silver members hogging the paying customers bandwidth.

I think making silver members wait for content is a good idea and should have been like that from the on set.

I heard that Burnout Paradise on the PS3 is way better than on the Xbox 360. So I deciced to compare the demos. I set the PS3 demo to download and then browsed the PlayStation Store for any good movie trailers. I then when to XBL and set the Burnout Paradise to download. After about 5 minutes, I was playing the Xbox 360 version, having a blast. Once I finised my fun, I poped over to the PS3 to play the demo, but the download was at 2%. I came to work and reutrned home, did Christmas shopping and got a hiar cut BEFORE the PS3 version was downloaded. Then after having taken all day to download, the stupid thing had me wait another 5 minutes while it installed the demo. Why would I download a demo I did not want installed.
As for one playing better than the other. BS!!! I was flipping from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions and most times I could not tell which was the PS3 or the Xbox 360. They are identical in all respects.

all ive heard is that the ps3 version had some connection issues sum1 said it in the burnout forum can't remember who though.
but the wait a week thing is slightly annoying as i have a silver US account and i have to wait a week to download the free demos, themes and pics :'(

Ive played a few borrowed PS3 games recently... Tigerwoods, DiRT, Call of Duty4.
Call of Duty 4 looks a little better on the PS3
Tigerwoods & DiRT look worse - especially DiRT !

I have only played demos on my Blu-Ray player, and unless they release something so good, something so great that I must play, I shall never play anything but the occasional demo, movie trailer, and Blu-Ray movies of course.
PS/ The game would have to be exceptional for me to suffer playing with what has to be the worst game controller ever conceived. I actually preferred the square NES gampad that dug itself into your hands as you played.

Only two games came with mine upon purchase - Motostorm & Fall of Man, I've played both for about less than 20 mins each, but lent them out recently where I was given CoD4 & DiRT. DiRT on the 360 is just downright PS2 looking, the scenery in the background doesn't load up very quickly so you're driving a long and it's like the tracks are building themselves in the distance and trees magically appearing. CoD4 has better lighting and it seems to show more detail, but I didn't play it in multiplayer. On the PSN thing I have only downloaded Tekken, Lemmings & a crappy Gran Turismo HD which were all fairly cheap n nasty.
The pad YES!!! lol - playing with the little sticks feels all like everything is in the wrong place plus when it says press X I automatically go to where X is on a 360 pad. Although it's light and flimsy, the only thing about that pad I do like is the rechargable internal battery built inside rather than needing seperate packs.

my biggest brief is the triggers, Instead of being concave and carressing your fingers like on the Xbox 360, they are convex and my fingers keep slidding off them. Maybe that is why PS3 games focus more on the bumpers than triggers.
I digress. My one and only gaming platform I own is the Xbox 360. If my Pro, Elite or Halo 3 console ever died, I would instantly replace em. If my PS3 died, I would stop renting Blu-Ray movies.

I support Silver members having to wait a week for anything. If you want to use live at all... pay the measly $50 for the whole year and get the best online experience ever for consoles.

lol i used to h8 ps2 pads but i haven't got a ps3, on the ps2 i used to have 1 of those wires so u can use an xbox pad on it instead and i played through final fantsy 10 and mgs3 (the jungle one), once i got used to the pad of the xbox i just couldn't go back.
the thing thats so great 'bout the triggers is they feel like ur shooting when u play a fps but i think its racing games which shows the biggest diffrence because u have alot more control over the speed, rather than a button/bumper which dosn't make u feel as if ure in control as muc. ehhhhh mby thats just me, but nout can beat the ingenious of the wii controler anyway. i just hope that one day well get a madcats rip off for 360...i can dream...

I think Gold members should get extra benefits, not Silver members losing out.

well just consider a demo an extra benefit, and that's okay.

Thats a very good point, but apart from the subscription we're not paying for demos as such- so fuck this whole thread cause it was just started to slag off our lovely exybox. it should be closed and never spoken of again . ever.

Well, there's not really much difference between Gold and Silver accounts, except the latter obviously not being able to play games online. What I think is Gold members should get things like a extended friend list, for example.
JasonA
December 22nd, 2007, 19:11
I know silver members can't send as many messages per day as gold members - but I think Gold members should have a 200 friends list count. Or at least be able to save pic messages to HDD so they aren't lost after 30 days

I too support this move from Microsoft. At the end of the day they are business who want to get more people to pay them money. This is certainly one way of doing it. You'll upgrade in the end. Plus as someone earlier said, why would you not want Gold? Do you hate online gaming or something?
