Ok, is it just me, or is it only the standard definition version of 300 that is being sold for 100msp? I thought it was supposed to be the hi-def version as well/instead - which sucks if it isn't, cos I've waited for today just to download it cheaply!

I already got the special edition of this in HMV when it came out mainly because of the 360 actors taking photos with customers. :P

It would be great if it was more than one movie so everyone could choose something.

When I looked at the marketplace earlier I only saw the SD version of 300 for 100 points. Perhaps it depends on what kind of TV you have?

Just done a post (http://www.xboxic.com/news/4166) about the issue. I researched it some more and uncovered some stuff that some of you might find interesting, maybe.

And Jay, I said the film was crap when I saw it in the cinema and I got shot down. Expect the same for you soon.

To be fair, I'm not a huge movie fan, certainly not as much as you, so I'm unlikely to ever think a film is "incredible". It'd have to be something truly phenomenal for me to ever be jumping around like a little girl screaming "More!".

In fact I can't think of one film that I've ever felt was amazing, thinking about it.

Films just don't excite me all that much. I can appreciate a film that is excellent, or I can appreciate why some would find it excellent, but it doesn't get my blood pumping in the same way a video game does. Or sex.

Ok Ok, I've been feeling ill with this flu-like virus that's going round :(

Anyway, at the time I read it, midnight was always in the future and never in the past. Either way, if somebody said something was happening at midnight on the 28th I would think that was tonight and not on the 27th.

I've just asked my wife when she thought "midnight 28 December" is and she also thought it was tonight. Try asking somebody you know when midnight on the 28th is and see what they say.

btw - I've been a lurker for years having Xboxic as one of my main RSS feeds for games info, so it's nice to be formally welcomed 8)

300 was very repetitive... basically you only need to watch the first 30 mins and the rest is like a repeat...

With the question on midnight on the 28th.... 00:00 which comes after 23:59 on 27th is midnight 28th...

but you could be left handed and therfore excused....

Yeah - I wouldn't call it screwed up. I as have said elsewhere on the forums I am left handed as well as left thinking which affects something like 15% of left handed people last I knew - and my way of thinking and logic is different to most others as tested in 1996 ( before anyone starts it is NOT dyslexia - this is perhaps dyslexia in revese..lol )

My ticks are in reverse, my automatic left thought seems to go right say for instance I need to point left and I aint got time to stop and think. I need a 1 second thinking responce to point left... There are different types of left handed people... some people just write differently and other peoples brain reacts differently. Being left handed is not just about how you hold a pen. Some quotes from wiki below to explain it better than me....

There are many theories on how being left-handed affects the way a person thinks. One theory divides left- and right-handed thinkers into two camps: visual simultaneous vs. linear sequential.

According to this theory, right-handed people are thought to process information using a "linear sequential" method in which one thread must complete its processing before the next thread can be started.

Left-handed persons are thought to process information using a "visual simultaneous" method in which several threads can be processed simultaneously. Another way to view this is such: Suppose there were one thousand pieces of popcorn and one of them was colored pink. The right-handed person — using the linear sequential processing style — would look at the popcorn one at a time until they encountered the pink one. The left-handed person would spread out the pieces of popcorn and visually look at all of them to find the one that was pink. A side effect of these differing styles of processing is that right handed persons need to complete one task before they can start the next. Left-handed people, by contrast, are capable and comfortable switching between tasks. This seems to suggest that left-handed people have an excellent ability to multi-task, and anecdotal evidence suggests that there are more creative stems due to this ability to multi-task.

Right-handed people process information using "analysis", which is the method of solving a problem by breaking it down to its pieces and analyzing the pieces one at a time. By contrast, left-handed people process information using "synthesis", which is the method of solving a problem by looking at the whole and trying to use pattern-matching to solve the problem.

The hypothesis that left-handed people are predisposed to visual-based thought has been validated by a variety of evidence. In the 2004 book Brains That Work a Little Bit Differently researchers Allen D. Bragdon and David Gamon, Ph.D., briefly described some of the current research on handedness and its significance. "Handedness researchers Coren and Clare Porac have shown that left-handed university students are more likely to major in visually-based, as opposed to language-based subjects. Another sample of 103 art students found an astounding 47 percent were left- or mixed-handed." [page 76]

Ultimately, being left-handed is not an all-or-nothing situation. The processing styles operate on a continuum where some people are more visual-simultaneous and others are more linear-sequential. end of wiki...

BBC World

The researchers conducted experiments into two different types of memory function: remembering events and remembering facts. Overall, they found that people who were left-handed or had left-handed members in their immediate families could remember events more easily. In remembering facts, there was little difference.

The experiments also involved measuring brain activity during the memory tasks. Results from these brain scans backed up earlier studies which suggest that both halves of the brain are involved in remembering events, whereas only one half seems to be used when remembering facts.

The researchers say this shows that remembering events at least has little to do with brain dominance. They say the key to how we remember events is likely to be the corpus callosum. In left-handed people and those with left-handed relatives it is generally larger. This part of the brain doesn't develop fully until about the age of four, which could explain why memories of early childhood are difficult to recall.

Yeah I guessed you was only because I know other left handed people who work time like that. Believe it or not it's just the instant way a left handed brain can think without thinking if you get my drift - that's why I brought it up...

But in all honesty, who does'nt? Reality TV is HUGE, thats nothing but laughing at people fuck up, we all laugh at others on here when something silly is said, its human nature to laugh at other peoples misfortune, to deny this is to deny what makes us human;)

(still think midnight applies to tonight and not last night though 8) )

You think what you like, but look at any clock with a date on it in the history of the world ever and you will be proven wrong, hence midnight being 00:00 on a 24 hour clock, indicating no hours in that day have passed yes. Its called common logic;) Thought we all got time and dates sorted out in our heads when we were all kids..?;)

Oh and sticking [ontopic], "this feature is not available in your region" FUCK RIGHT OFF!! I've been waiting ages to watch 300 in HD for 100msp, i dont have enough to get the full price, i just wanna watch a film in fucking HD!!!! Got my HDDVD player with no DVDs yet... FUCKING HELL!!

It's a practical conversational observation in as much as midnight in the real world would tend to be in the future and not in the past.

Seems you have a slight reading impediment as well as the need to swear.

I've never actually been talking about the physical time "00:00" just the word "midnight" and what it means. Yes, 00:00 is the start of the next day and midnight is another word describing a similar time. There was never any need to call somebody a fool (although with your basic language skills maybe there should be......).

I'm more than happy to post on here about my personal views and thoughts and if you can't take it without resorting to just being rude, maybe this isn't the place for you either....

Wow, you're a big man who prides himself on language skills, and obviously has no concept of the word 'joke', isnt that cool. Seeing as you've apparently been viewing the site and probably the forums too, you should notice people rip the shit out of each other for silly things on here all the time, if you're gonna go all high and mighty every single time that happens to you, then you should fuck off right now because its just boring. Yes, maybe i do swear a lot, whats your point? I live in a horrible part of south east london, its hard to find anyone that does'nt swear around here, if you dont like the way i talk, the way i act, the JOKES that you obviously have no understanding of, then block me, or as i previously stated... Fuck off. :)

ANYWAY, back ontopic, well, relatively ontopic, I put 1000msp onto my account today to get 300 and Three Kings in HD, and both films say not available in your region/area?! What the fuck?! Jay downloaded 300, one of my other friends did, and i'm sure many other UK residents have used to video marketplace for movies now, so why the fuck can't i?!

Just remember you started this by calling me a fool, all I had said was that I thought midnight was tonight and not last night. Hmmmm silly me....8)7

Shall we move along.......

I had also actually paid my 100 points for 300 and because I have been struck down with this virus thing, never got round to watching all of and now the damn thing has timed out.
