We are being sued? What's your association with Microsoft?
But yes, it's totally ridiculous as I said in my post, although one commenter thinks I'm an "ass". I think he's an arse for believing this lawsuit will do anything.
Why would you be surprised to see a story on xboxic with such a wildly incredulous corporate slant? Ross Hayward for one is a known jack-off to begin with. Everybody who writes for this second-rate rag site has suffered serious head trauma at some point in their lives.

Seems not everyone agrees with my viewpoint...

Theres no 'we', unless you work for MS, you dont get sued because you bought microsofts products. Your loyalty to M$ sickens me.
People can sue anyone anytime they like- its the fucking lawyers, its not the peoples fault, theyre just really dumb and cheeky- alot of our politicians start out like them. What kills it is the selfish attitude of sueing, and also from the companies they sue.
If both sides thought about more than just themselves for 2 seconds the world wouldnt seem like it was joggin on the spot all the fuckin time.
"Ross Hayward for one is a known jack-off to begin with. Everybody who writes for this second-rate rag site has suffered serious head trauma at some point in their lives."
Thats a bit harsh, im tryin to think of ways to be nice but yeh hes not the greatest journalist but fuck it- i like this 'second-rate rag site', i reckon his dodgy column and the rest beat all these flashy cockmaster sites, gamespot with its illiterate forum dwellers, gametrailers and its legion of pervs- fuck em, fuck em all and long live xboxic.
but..
" It's better than boring, neutral news"
thats so dumb i want to cry, a more unbiased and neutral point of view (or even one that swings toward the gamer rather than the company) would be nice.

Second Rate Rag site... haha.... I didn't see that guys comment, glad you posted it. He probably wanked himself senseless waiting for all the bad feedback he wanted.
I quite like the writing style here - it has an edge of humor to it and written like the writer is saying what everyone is already thinking, then without fail at the bottom an encouragement to comment.

Apologies Nayse, but a good news article needs an element of bias. The idea is that some people are not going to agree with the viewpoint, as with all news. I mean, if you talk to a group of people there might be someone there you'll disagree with. Some might side with Microsoft, some may side with the guys who sued them.

What kind of crap do you read and who told you that BS? Youre describing a shit stir not a news article- you report the straight facts, all of them, then let the readers decide on their own. Thats journalism. Yes, people will side with who they want for their own reasons but youre not jon fuckin stewart, you dont call the fuckin subject matter, especially not when its just to get a rise outta people and add weight to a thin piece of shit story. - thats what makes you a rag hack.

Wow, calm the fuck down. Do you have issues accepting other people's views or something?
Our policy at ICGamers is to give you the readers news, with a slight twist, be it amusing or something slightly personal and involving. Technically it worked; you are now involved, albeit for slightly different reasons than intended.
I'm sorry if my or any of the other writers' work offends you, however just because you continually rant about it in a less than constructive manner doesn't mean we will change, only the big man upstairs can force that.
We try and differentiate ourselves from other "rag hacks" (you meant shacks right?) by giving slight slants to an otherwise boring piece of news, be it from a Press Release or Microsoft getting sued. Whatever the case, we try and offer a different flavour for our readers; some appreciate it, some don't.
I'm sure Curry has said most of this before elsewhere on the forums, but hey, why not reiterate it once again.
I'll let you know when I'm at all phased by what you say, but until you start using some grammar I'm unlikely to ever care.

I honestly think that sueing poeple was invented to make money out of idiots.... Like if you walk under some scaffolding and something falls on your head......
Who is at fault?
The people who put the scaffolding there?
Or the idiot that walked under it?
Some smartass lawyer just had the revolutionary idea of offering a service to the stupid to milk thier stupidity and fill their pockets........ Obviously advertising this service on satellite television is ther real stroke of genius becasue lets face it if it was published in The Times it wouldn't be nearly as effective.
The advert itself is now a classic formula, with its heavy reliance on pictures of cheques, offers of receiving "100% of your compensation" and large printed slogans... Generally the advert has now been emulated by almost every law firm advertising similar services for those who have through their own idiocy reached the zenith of stupidity.
Have you had a trip of fall at work? Well look where you're f**king going in future dumbass!!!
Rant over?!

1. There is no such thing as 'neutral' news. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't exist. There will always be an element of the media that is more "left-wing" and an element that will be considered "right-wing". How this translates to video games is anyones guess, but there is no TRUE unbiased reporting. I doubt there ever has been, but that's just the cynic in me. Watch Fox News, CBC NEws and then the BBC news. Three very different styles of news, each with their own slant/spin on the events of the day. News is big business, and it pays to cater to certain demographics. Just because its news about a silly past time doesn't make it different.
2. Ross is an ass. Mostly, yes :P but is that really any different from anyone of us? Not really. I hate to break it to you guys, but a lot of us are alike. We're all big dorks, who play video games and are typically over opinionated with very little hesitation to throw an insult or two around. And yes, a subtle insult is still an insult, regardless if it's preceeded by "No offense" as that indirectly implies that being offensive is the actual end game. The biggest difference is that posting a FP news article gets your 'jackass-y-ness' out to more people than these forums (populated by, what? a dozen 'regulars')
3. "We're getting sued"
Arial Assassin is horrible at grammer, sentence structure and generally, all aspects of spelling. However, I doubt that he truly feels that We" are getting sued. I'd bet that it was just bad grammer and/or wasn't as well thought out as it should be.
4. Most people, not just here, but on the internet in general, have a problem iwth accepting views that are different from their own. Nayse is no more different than 99.9999% of internet forum users. My shit doesn't stink etc....
5. I smell like a million bucks! Giorgio Armani, Code. Buy it, now. Women will thank you for it. No, that has nothign to do with the thread, but I don't care because I smell so good right now, I just wanted to share!
6. Ice that head trauma Ross. The bump will only get bigger if you don't. ;)
And now, a simple request.....
let the thread die guys.

yes im sure we're all alike except im not relly subtle insult sort of person ill just shove it in your face and make sure you know it
but by now everyone knows that im very sarcastic and most imes im having a laugh
i also like to think i have a better time accepting peoples oppinions then most im just like that i luv putting my views forward but i think constructive critism is always a good thing even if it is some random insult, that usually just means they don't like something but they can't relly word it

cheers for that rossko n mass- my shits stink bad and im the first to admit to being a geek- i never said anything to the contuary. i find that kinda insulting- you can have good journalism, not editorial or opinion, but straight honest unbiased journalsim- you just dont find it generally in mass media because it doesnt sell. Fox and the BBC talk bullshit so theyre the worst examples you could give- i understand what you mean though, the large percentage of people watch and read really biased information touted as 'news'. But to say a good article NEEDS an element of bias is crazy- thats what got me rantin this time.
yes i have an issue accepting peoples views if i think theyre dumb and that they get others believing crap too- and ill be vocal about it. it wasnt my intention to phase you rossko, i wasnt really callin you a hack, rather saying if you do those things you will be (pretty sure i stood up for your article just a few posts ago). the malice should have been directed more accuately (at hylian).i shoul add im a stubborn fucker that gets aggy bout things like politics, censorship and news spinnin easily, and ive a had few

First and foremost in writing you have to consider objectivity, as I was taught in writing financial reports and it also refers to journalism. It has to be fair, unbiased and obviously factual. The news here is factual, but I don't think it is unbiased and writers do add their own personal view at times but only really small lines.
Take the Bully news post: Ross wrote-
"Clearly, Rockstar had a broader view and knew they could earn even more money by waiting a while and then re-developing it on the 360 with a few extras thrown in."
[Clearly] That's persuation in the writer getting you to think like the writer. It could have been "Rockstar may have had a broader view" Because unless Rockstar said themselves it's just extra lines in Ross's story...
And now Stranglehold: Ross wrote-
"Unfortunately the multiplayer was so poor that the first half of the content is pretty useless. And if the Achievements are all online related, then really it’s a waste of 1200 Points."
Both are personal views and it's often this style of writing that causes the conflicts because you can either disagree or agree with it. If Ross had stated that the achievements ARE all online related and 90% of 'such & such poll or website readers' stated it would be a waste of 1200 points. Then there is nothing to disagree with...
Just adding my point... and it's no jibe at Ross, just an example of writing or gap filling. But that's what makes this site a bit different to some others it has a slight personal touch that I think is on the wavelength of forum members over the shit comment makers on the FP

I could respond to that in a million different ways, but I'm not going to, it'd only get worse otherwise.
*stuff*
Yeah you hit the nail on the head, that's what we try and do here, make it a bit different from the rest. Think of it as a mix between a blog site (say 360Fanboy) and a regular news site (say IGN/Gamespot etc). We give you the cold hard facts, but we also aren't afraid to share an opinion, and we will willingly do so, regardless of whether others agree.
Now shall I close this thread or are we actually going to discuss the OP's original intentions?
