I have connected my cable which I got for my xbox into the console and into my laptop. After doing this I have been trying to connect to live like that but no progress :( The problem is that when it is testing the connection it stops at MTU test and says it fails, What can I do?

1) Connect it to the internet.... not your laptop.
2) Get the SMAP out of here.

It's an anagram around here for something else.
And why would you plug your ethernet cable into your laptop for internet access?

In which case you will need to set up ICS, good luck with that. Can you not just get a wireless adapter and connect wireless-ly to the via that way? Much easier.
