Not sure if there is already a thread about this, but i dont think there is. I dont know about all of you but i am tired of downloading things from the live marketplace, and if im not connected to xbox live they either dont show up or are not playable. Does anyone feel the same? and if anyone know of a petition to be able to play your downloads without being connected

What I don't understand is if you have access to Live, why you wouldn't connect to it when you turn on the 360? Just doesn't make sense to me, it's not like it's any extra trouble.

Maybe he hasn't bought a router?
LOLed at the thought of him moving his hardwire from PC to XBOX everytime he wanted to play over live.

Well I've found that there is usually NEVER a time when I'm not on LIVE when I'm on my 360, unless the service is down... that's about the only time I never sign in.
Thing is though... I could see it being a real pain in the arse if you had to switch consoles though... if the service is down and you have to play offline... that would be a pain.
However in saying that... when live is down... usually... I just watch TV or play random Korean Golf and Pool RPG's online.

actualy i am always on live but its when i bring my xbox to places that dont have an internet plug in and i dont have wifi adapter. such as a hotel or a friends house with no internet, things like that. it just really pisses me off i cant play certain things when im not connected. just doesnt make any sense.

I do agree though, its annoying the few times you're not connected. The games should be tied to your gamertag and harddrive over the actual console itsself.

You'd think they could put some sort of fail safe in the game. I get the security requirements. you can't have it so you can move a game over to someone elses hard drive using an exploit of some sort... BUT, why not make a game work for about 5 hours Offline until it locks you out. Once you get on live again, the game can think "hey, maybe you do own me!" and reset the counter.

exactly.thats the main thing that gets me. I was down all day like a few days ago, and was bored out of my mind because there wer arcade games i wanted to play but couldnt. btw, if anyone knows, my frend brought his harddrive over my house so he could download some guitar hero songs. shouldnt they still work even if he isnt on live?

DLC is tied to an account so no I don't think it would work... but DLC for games might not be as strict, i mean.. you own the game.

Well I tried to play Oblivion with my hard drive on another 360 that wasn't online but it wouldn't load the dlc

yep, especially when the dlc is the fighters stronghold castle and that's pretty much where I've based myself in the game, storing my weapons and shit there

I have nothing to add to this topic, just wanting to comment to get to 1000 :P
But I have downloaded the add-on for Bomberman Live while at a friends but logged on under my account. I was able to download the content so we could play at his hosue. When I got home, I re-downloaded it and used it at home. Now we both have the extra content.

When it's downloaded you need to sign in and play the DLC at least once and have your friends tag signed in on pad 2. Then it works.
It's a bit like the way I get free gamerpics with my US account. I have to download the gamerpics with USA JAY and then change gamerpic to what I've downloaded because if I don't then they don't show up when I want to change UK JAY's gamerpic...
