Download speeds

I'm currently using the wireless setup and downloads seem slow to me. I know a hard line direct to the PS3 would be faster but I don't have any issue when downloading via wireless with my laptop. Maybe it is just me but how long should a 100meg trailer take to download with wireless? I do understand that everyones speeds may differ based on several variables. I'm just talk in general. Thanks guys!!!! I'm new to PS3 so I may have more questions as I get to know the system. :)

Hard to say, I've had good luck (I think) with ps3 download speeds, but I have read a plethora of complaints regarding PS3s wireless NIC, it might not be all that great. Maybe things will improve quite a bit once you get on the wire.

yea, I've come to the conclusion that I will hard wire my PS3 and my Xbox 360. I just need to get a 4 port switch.

I've never had a problem downloading wirelessy with my PS3, always seems a decent speed to me. Even my 360 has been downloading quite fast recently, which is rare.

Wireless is always a gamble. You never know how much bandwith in the frequency spectrum is actually in use by other networks/applications. Remeber that the frequencies are not reserved. With that out of the way .... PSN usually provides great download speed (1.5 - 2mb/s).

I'm not sure how big the resistance update was but I did it last night and it took about 20 minutes. I'm going to hard wire the PS3 and call it a day. After today I have Fri,Sat, Sun, mon, tues off from work!!!! Whoohooo

Fucking hell. Your download speed is amazing. Pity your upload speed is really bad, i never expected to have a better upload speed than an American, but hey, you made my day. Well done. Thanks for that. Though your download speed utterly RAPES me. I'm happy i have a SLIGHLTLY better upload thank a yank. Better hosting powers than the Americans FTW

Ive had this problem before. Try reseting the router and make sure your ps3 isnt in a place where the router has to send signals threw the walls or the house floors. The signal breaks and i learned this the hard way. Moved the ps3 in the same room as the router right near it and all my connection speeds and downloads are super super fast. Even the internet browser laughs at youtube.
