Any news on the Left 4 Dead front? The 4 Player Co-Op with the FPS aspect is what has my attention right now.

I've heard that its due to be released by the end of the year, unfortunately thats all that ive heard. i've seen plenty of videos for it and looks amazing. 4 player co-op is going to be superb. i think slow moving zombies will soon be a thing of the past in gaming terms. i may be wrong.

I watched Dead Set last night in its entirety (UK TV programme, aired last week) and it really got me in the mood for this game!

What did you think of it Rossko? i thought it was really good! some of the acting was abit tongue in cheek and it had a few of those moments when you shout at the tv saying "dont be so stupid!" like when that guy unties that big girl moments before she turns into a zombie?? why?? but overall i thought it was good.

The fast zombies are definitely gonna add lots of excitement to the game, ive always preferred it when they run like 28 days/28 weeks later. i even watched the original dawn of the dead and night of the living dead the other night (for the 100th time!), where the zombies are so slow the survivors had time to run up to them and put custard pies in their faces! classic films though.

Anyone else pre-ording this that fancies teaming up? myself and my bro will be getting it so we could do with 2 more survivors??

Dead Set for me was a mixed bag. Like you say there were some moments where you thought "oh for fuck sake as if anyone would do that in that situation" but it brought things up that so many films forget, like the shitting part. Absolutely brilliant, I've always wondered what people would do when faced in ridiculous circumstances films put them in, and this answered it perfectly.

I also thought the ending was a bit meh. I was hoping we would find a cause or reason this was happening, but in the end everyone just gets turned into a zombie. Which was cool, but didn't answer my burning question of how it began.

Oh well, it was still fun, and the lead girl was a hottie, so I can't complain too much!

i think the 4 player part of the game is where people will keep playing it thats for sure. if you can get yourself and 3 mates all together to have a good zombie killing spree then its gotta be worth picking up again and again.

apparently those that pre-ordered it through valve get to play the demo now? i take it thats pc gamers only?

when i first saw this game i was planning on picking it up straight away, but the release dates, mean ill have to wait till i get abit more cash. looks good tho 4-plr coop is always a laugh even when the game ur playing isn't that good. but this looks good as well =p

Im liking the amount of coop games coming out at the moment, i just wish fable 2 did it better, but gears is awesome, hopefulley cod:wow will be and then this. :D

They're fast because it makes it challenging. I love it. It looks awesome and I can't wait. I love that the zombies aren't just the standard slow idiots.

fair enough it makes it face pace im not saying make them drag there feet like a car crash victim but slow them down a bit they could lap a cheetah the speed they go in the boomers its gonna be a good game but no way would i pay full retail price

downloaded the demo last night and i thought it was superb! at first the pace of the zombies did shock me a little but soon got use to it.

Unfortunately i was only playing the single player but hope to have another crack at it tonight with some friends.

on expert its silly we couldn't even make it in to the first safe house (main because noz cant figure out the difference between friend and foe and shot at any one but i must admit was good fun but still don't know if its worth 50 quid and if it will hold my attention for more then a week

Demos should make you want to buy a game.
This demo has made me not want to buy the game.

It's got graphics from 1996 (I'll admit i'd prefer lower graphics + higher framerate than the other way around, but CounterStrike 1.5 graphics is absurd). And the gameplay just isn't that fun imo.

It doesn't have a zombie game feel to it, at all, and I don't buy into the logic that a reanimated corpse can be killed with one uzi bullet to the leg.

Pass, imo.

i wouldn't go as far as that but you could say along the lines of it altho halo was a bit more stable every so often we get hit with the horde for no reason at all no warning just instant death scenario

i think it all depends on how much of a zombie fan you are. I've always enjoyed zombie films and zombie games and found this game really good fun, definitely lived up to what i was hoping for and am looking forward to release day on friday. If you're not really into zombies then i might see why you would find this game nothing special, but then its just down to personal preference.

im a fan of the zombie scene i just dont know if in all honest it would keep my attention.
Valve make amazing games no argument.
but to me left 4 dead has this kinda of team fortress 2 and portal feel to it, you know great games alot of fun and well thought out but you cant shake the feeling that its all just a extra rather then a stand alone game.
just a mod to go on top of half life 2.

I love all things Zombie.
I've read World War Z, played 3/4 the Resident Evils, got every ending in Dead Rising, seen all the George Romero movies + remakes (Diary of the Dead was great), 28 xxxx Later, Shaun of the Dead obviously, even watch the shit movies that i see on cable sometimes, like the one about the newlyweds and one becomes a zombie and the bride tries to stay w/ him. ridiculous.

I admit I've yet to see the zombie stripper movie.

Thank you its not worth a stand alone game price if they brought it out 25-30 pounds then maybe but its just like portal it could have easily gone on the market place

I'm almost finished 'aqquiring' it. Was thinking about getting it on PC though because the online pvp (not campaign) will be a lot better as apparently instead of 4v4 its 36v4

Well that wouldn't be too hard, they're all on the source engine so everything is compatible with each other. But, that does sound fun.

I played the demo... and I didn't really care for it. Definately not at the price of a full game.
