Please be aware that only NTSC systems work in high def. The component av cables were never sold officially in europe because of that.
If you have a PAL xbox1 and want high def you have to jump through some hoops first. You'll need a specifically patched bios because the PAL bios doesn't support the hd settings from what I remember.

If you're from the states you have an NTSC console so you should be good to go. just buy some component cables.
99% of Xbox 1 games support progressive scan, only a few however support 720p, and maybe two support 1080i.

thanx for the help and info. am i goin to be able to walk into a gamestop and get these cables? or i am beter off ordering them online? and did microsoft make their own wireless controllers for the original x box? or do i ahve to go wit mad katz?

You should be able to get 3rd party cables at any gamestop. There's one that has connectors for ps2/xbox and something else. Not sure if they still carry original xbox cables.
