I really cannot understand why Sony decided to ditch the HD. They no longer sell it, nor does their new "slim ps2" support it.

I can understand why they made the changes with the in-built network adapter and all... but I really feel that they could have done the same while maintaining the functionality of the HD.

Now I am stuck with an old PS2 which I cannot trade in for a new one because if I do I won't be able to play FF11 anymore, nor use the hundreds of gamesaves that I store on the HD.

that sux... geta first generation ps3 and you'll be able to play ff11... I am not sure if there is a device on the parket that will allow you to transfer your save files from the ps2 hdd to the ps3 hdd... sorry pal...

or get a 360, and you can still paly ff11, on a more reliable network, ;)

Slim ps2's can be modded with a hd controller and external hd as far as I know. You can even buy them already fitted with the controller at some of the modding places that install the usual modchips.

But I am not sure it's actually still worth it.
