I never picket up the Orange Box ... for a lot of reasons.

By extension that means I never played portal, which I have been hearing people rave about for years now. I picked it up yesterday once it finally went live on XBLA (a day late, per usual), and I must say ... WOW!

The gameplay is fun and very addictive. I can't put it down. Have you guys all played this game? If so, are you thinking about picking it up for the extra levels?

There's extra levels available??

Portal had genuinely one of the best endings in any game ever. It was so fun to work out the puzzles, especially some of the later levels.

If there's an expansion available then i'm on it like a rash!

from what I heard abou this, its just a handful of extra levels, while most of it is the same from Orange Box.

Not to say that its a bad thing, as I really had a blast playing through it, but I will be passing on the expansion. Too many other things need my money these days.....stupid holiday release schedule.

It's 15 bucks ...

More deets:

- It is the full game, plus 14 bonus levels.
- The levels are not story related, but simply more fun!
- The rumor is the levels are just as challenging as the later levels of the game.

Once I finish the original game, I'll let you know if I think the additional levels are worth the pricetag of the full game.

Please do! I've been on the fence about getting this. I already have The Orange Box and I loved Portal. Having it as an arcade title would be handy though and I really want to see these extra levels. That, and it would be great for some easy achievement points! haha

Will there be a separate dlc for those who already have orange box? $15 is more than a dollar a level if you only want the new stuff.

The new levels are based on something already available for the PC. If you have the Orange Box for PC, you can download here.Link. (http://portalmaps.wecreatestuff.com/)

Yea the extra levels are based on the 2D Flash game. I loved Portal (finished it thrice the first night I got it) but this version is really for people who missed out on the Orange Box, so not for me.

oh lay off him would you _chris_.
Can't you just be happy that he's finding men from ANY country.

Rival, most of the xboxic community supprots your quest for various random men. While I personally do not understand your love of men, I do not judge you.

I'm just happy that you're happy discovering yourself.

So I've finished most of the extra levels ... actually I finished all of the "new" (first fifteen) in like an hour.

Either I'm rediculously good @ this game (doubtful), or they really aren't all that challenging.

For people who have never played the game, it's well worth the $15 price point ... there is a lot of content there.

But for people who have played the original, I wouldn't recommencd it. It's billed as having 19 new levels ... but the last five of them are actually the last five levels of the original, retooled to be more difficult. And don't get me wrong, they are quite a bit more difficult ... but they aren't exactly new. They removed a bunch of spaces that in the original were able to be used as transport spaces ... and they added quite a bit of complexity to the levels I did play. But imo it's lying to have called them new.

that is a bit cheeky, still i guess for those who havent played it its a good deal. plus it shows what can be put onto arcade marketplace and hopefully will raise the bar for others.

I'm hoping they release DLC for it ... I would gladly pay $5 for another 10 levels ...
