Thing game looks totally amazing. I am definately buying this when it come out. The game was shown at the Ubisoft booth at E3 and has been entitled "Haze". It is being created by the same people who created TimeSplitters. I am hoping this game is a bit more "slow-paced", that TimeSplitters was, because me, personally, I perfer a slow shooter like Rainbow Six.

It's looks pretty sweet indeed. Kind of reminds me to Farcry a little. I haven't really looked into the specifics of this game but as far as I can see it's just another shooter.

I'd like to play Time Splitters sometime, I've seen various ads in magazines and stuff and it looks quite fun. I'll go look up if it's backwards compatible and find a copy on eBay. :P

Haze better be good, because as much as I hate to say it, every FPS will be compared to Halo.
I do love Halo, but there are other, just as good FPS's out there.

Had to dig up this thread that's older then my grandma, but I just read that Haze is now officially a PS3 exclusive... Damnit! I had high hopes for this one and really wanted to give it a try...:-(

What!? Not that I care much about Haze, it's just that I hate to see a Ubisoft game go exclusive to the PS3. This is clearly all due to SC: Conviction being a 360 exclusive.

Well, it's all in the air at the minute. Apparentlyt imed exclusive to Sony, because if it came out on 360 too near Halo, it'd get destroyed.

Ubisoft is being dodgy:

When contacted by GameSpot, Ubisoft reps were somewhat cagey. "Haze is leading on PS3, but no exclusivity for any platform has been officially announced," a spokesperson said. This leaves open the possibility that the game could arrive on the 360 and PC sometime in 2008.

I have read some places that it is exclusive to the PS3 till next summer, and other places that the 360 version will come out a week after the PS3.

It's a timed exclusive. The 360 version will come out early next year.

No offense but you were wrong about saying that a demo for DMC 4 was to come out during the GC :(.

I think TGS is a lot more likely. We'll see who's gonna be right this time around :P.

Yeah, I know :(( I feel horrible about that but I guess I got what I deserved for trusting a "new" source too much. It seemed likely at the time considering many circumstances.

Was kinda hoping nobody would notice I slipped there :=) But hey ... this Haze news should more than make up for the faux pas considering the nearly impossible odds at the time :)

About TGS and a possible dmc4 demo ... after looking a bit more "into it" I don't think there will be a xblm demo anytime soon. I think they will do some kind of "public hands on" with the scenes/levels we've already seen and that'll wrap it up until release. The game isn't as far along in development as I initially thought it'd be. So I guess that's a much safer bet now :P

Considering the only thing that really sells well on the 360 is shooters, shooters and oh .. more shooters .... yeah, that makes sense. Especially considering that COD4 and UT3 are coming to the ps3 and ... sorry but ... UT3 looks f*cking hot on the ps3.

From a sales point of view it would have made a lot of sense to bring Haze on the 360 because pretty much any decent shooter these days will sell like 500k copies or more. Add some hype to it and sales go beyond 1 million fairly easy. Add (post) holiday season to the equation ....... it makes no sense not to bring it on the 360 other than the devs simply not wanting it.

You do know that a playable DMC 4 demo has been sighted on numerous PS3 demo stations in Tokyo? And that was quite a long time ago. Dunno if it's still possible ... But I'm sure some reliable site reported on it at the beginning of the year :(.

Edit: Found it (http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/04/04/devil-may-cry-4-demo-out-in-japan-kiosks-on-360/). Actually, it was reported in April :P.

Well, I'll stick with "no xblm demo" so I can be wrong twice about this. Trying to keep the errors to one game at least :) DAMAGE CONTROL ^^

But back to the original topic ... I think, based on stuff that was said and shown in a lot of interviews, Haze could actually be a "sleeper hit" (not a huge one, but ...) similar to Timeshift which, I am sure, surprised everyone quite a bit when they tried the demo. I'd put Haze in the same league or better for sure. Dunno why I have so much faith in ps3 exclusives lol.

It just says there's gonna be an extended trailer shown at TGS or so I gathered from the awful Babel Fish translation :P. And that it is "undecided" whether the game will release this Fall or not which we all know it won't.

I actually thought it was quite fun. Slow Time + Crossbow = lots of fun. The whole time stuff worked much better than I thought it would and has a lot of potential imho. Only bad thing about it was quite a few framerate drops but other than that it was cool. Quite promising I'd say.

Get WH already Ross :) You don't need a stupid looking BT headset anyway :D
