When I grew up on a council estate as a kid in Plymouth (1981 - 1995) people were just called 'common' or 'rough' Teenagers hung round in groups near churches, robbed KFC, joyriding, early 90's rave music on the go full blast and I think ghetto was more associated with gangster black american type people with tight braids and hoody tops then. (was rarely seen in the UK)

I guess it's probably more 'ghetto' now if I was to go back because from what I've heard the area's even worse than ever. Plus Plymouth now over 12 years on has a lot more different ethnic groups & nationalitites from muslims, chinese, polish, amongst others.

This week until friday sainsburys is selling all chart games,dvds and cd with a 20% reduction on the price.

I got another copy of assassin's creed so I could sell that marked "not for resale" copy I got with my limited edition for only £27! Also got Big brain acdemy for the wii only £14. IT also includes guitar hero 3 which will come down to about £52. :d

It's surprising but I guess that I just got bored of eating chocolates as I used to do it quite a bit when I was younger. I also havent eaten a single chip for well over 4 years now because I used to eat them most days during school. :P

I guess it also has to do with the fact that ever since eating fruit and other food I didnt try when I was younger, gave me a whole new view of the good stuff I was misssing. :)

Im funny when it comes to food only because I'm vegetarian, I need a certain amount of fat intake too which I get from chocolate & fresh cream cakes. I have and allergy to coconut though and I take lots of vitamins in tablet form an through fresh vegetables - mainly broccoli, spinach & carrots. Fried broccoli is beautiful !! especially in olive oil - then with a bit of grated mature chedder over the top.

Also just been informed that How Clean are the Filthy fulfords is about to be shown in 30 countries !! lol from Jan 2008

That was the one I was shown quite a few times on yes - but we just send people off to them now without us (I usually get sent a video of the house which gives me an idea of cleaning times, chemicals needed, numbers of cleaners needed e.t.c). It kickstarted series 3. Usually they film nov - may and the show goes out in the summer... this year though it was put of til next April... Im kinda wondering that Aggie may be in 'Dancing on Ice' which could be the reason for the re-scheduling... or the whole lot could be out of our boundaries (scotland) and therefor I couldn't organise the cleaning on any of them :(

Last winter, I was stuck on some residential street for close to an hour because the police had blocked off the road to facilitate filming of some scenes in front of a home on the street.
I had gone to visit a friend, and parked on the road. The house they were using to film in/around was up the street from my buddy's place (his dad's place really....:X) and the cops had blocked off both ends of it.

I had to stand around in the freezing cold because they wouldn't let me get my car. That = bullshit, of the smelliest variety!

So.....if you're watching this movie, there will be a scene where they are talking outside a house. The house is off-white in colour, and very well lit. You may see a black '05 Honda Civic, 2 dr coupe somewhere on the road. You may also see a guy with a shaved head, and no touque/gloves/proper winter jacket in the background, cursing, swearing and pacing up and down the road and trying not to freeze to death.

Im not quite sure how..(yet) but the debit card I have associated with my live account has been frozen due to fraudulent activity. It's also the card I use to by MS points and pay Live each month with.

Im being issued with a new card from the bank and someone tried to deduct funds a few times, but didn't get the 3 digit security correct each time they tried.

Unfortunatly Smile is an Internet bank !! I can't go draw money out from a bank - I can't buy anything on my card or use a cashpoint...

2 weeks before I get a new card....this has kinda fucked me off...

Thanks to the friends of friends thing I have found 6 gamertags who persistantly spammed me on ONE of my friends gamertag - more than just a coincidence. Either he is all the other tags too or just asked others on his behalf....

Im in two minds whether to just delete him or confront him or actually both - but I'm glad I know. He reads here, but is not a member - he's also put newcastle in his bio - so if anyone can remember my nuisance stuff from newcastle earlier this year - mystery solved.

For those of you that do not know who Dan Aykroyd is (shame on you), he is a great Canadian actor, very famous for time on Saturday Night Live and many movies but none more famous that Ghostbusters where he played the part of Dr Ray Stantz. The thing is that he not only acted in the movie, he also co-wrote the movie.

He choose our town, because I guess we are the largest comsumers of wine in out part of Canada (do not look at me, I do not drink). Dan Aykroyd loves to talk and during a question about Ghostbusters someone asked if there was ever going to be a third Ghosbusters movie. He responded by indicating that he is actually currently writing the script for the third movie (along with the original co-writer), but that the third movie is the upcomming video game for the Xbox (I assumed he ment the 360) that should be available September 2008. He then said that if the game sold well, that could lead to the third movie being filmed.

This news was very exciting and I thought I should share with you all.

I agree, but this is not your typical movie game, this game IS the movie. The original two writers are creating a new script that will be Ghosbusters III, but not for the movies, but for the game. Dan Aykroyd only said that MAYBE if the game was successfull enough, then MAYBE that would prompt the third movie to be made.

Me and a friend used to play the ghostbuster game on his mega drive all the time when we were 9. ^_^

I hope this game has the same bosses and same style of gameplay because that was one of the funniest games for the mega drive! I still remember having to kill the giant Marshmellow man and avoiding his fists and such. That last level in the castle was also very hard specially for the time it was. :)

I certainly know Dan and he has to be one of the funniest men on this planet along with Bill Murray which had my favorite character in ghostbusters. I also really like Bill in Lost in Translation and Groundhog day, and as for Dan he was really funny as that president in Evolution. :)

I got back in from Montreal late last night.

A few days behind, but Merry Christmas to everyone around here.

Because you had non delivery of an item someone somewhere can give you your money back. I bought a US 1600 points redeem code from www.microsoftpointsxbox.com but you need a google pay account and a credit card (not debit). Otherwise you'd need a 1600 points card from ebay & paypal with the usual paypal payment methods. I know you'd like this.

You also need a USA gamertag on your console to download the demo and play the demo at least once using your own gamertag before unlocking full version using the USA gamertag. I have noticed my gamerscore on it hasn't registered on my gamercard yet.

Is XBL fucked up? I just tried to play some PGR with a friend who is on the same provider and we couldn't finish any races due to us getting kicked out on turns... we're both on the same provider with 20mbit down and 1mbit up so that should be ok... Anything to do with the "300" perhaps? 8)7

Just thought i would tell you guy's that i just rang Xbox customer support about the issue's with LIVE. He said that it hasn't been working properly for 5 days now, and that when everyone get's back from there holiday's they will be offering some kind of compensation. He wouldn't give me any other details but I just thought I would tell you guys....

Ive had few family rows over xmas cos i'm dividing a lot of my time out of the family business from Jan 7th. Ive taken a part time job in admin for a media company which works with musicians & bands, and its a huge drop in income for me because im 20 - 30hrs a week working for someone else- massively...my days of luxury are over for a bit, but I still get my driver 3 days a week \o/ \o/ !! but I got to get out and meet people, work with new people and its more important to me than money at the minute, I still get top up income but its now taxed at 22% !!!

I co-own/run a family business with approx 30 staff. 80% of the work was done from home with admin, organising, and the other 20% travelling around a lot as well as some TV related work stuff. But I was starting to feel quite tied to it lately and a bit trapped. So I made the announcement to cut back on everything and just live a bit I have been doing this since 23 and Im nearly 28 - time is flying by !!. Because I co run it I can't nor shalln't walk away completely because it is a responsibility but all I have to do now is accounts & payroll only, my sister has taken over the rest of my duties and obviously gets the better pay too she is 23 which is kinda funny too cos that's how old I was when all this started 5/6 years ago

I still get a cut of profits but my working time now will be 20 - 30hrs with the media company and 10-20hrs with the family business so my work is now about 40hrs max really instead of anything from 60-80hrs a week. Plus I wont be mentally as drained, nor tired, nor lack of energy. The media company aren't aware of my other stuff because Im pretty sure they wouldn't have given me the job knowing I have other commitments. It was hard enough convincing them that my accounting qualifications were just for a personal ambition..lol :P - Im also a fully qualified accountant too.

I feel like although myself and my family have achieved a LOT !! I need time out, even if only for a year or two to get myself a bit established with life again.

Just had a good chuckle. I was reading on BBC that UK is experiencing a snow storm. Snow fall may be anywhere up to 5CM with the temp dropping to 2 or 3 celsius.

We are in the middle of a classical Eastern Canada snow storm. I cannot see outside my window as the snow is covering it completly. We got 20cm and another 15-20cm expected. This only 2 days after we got 25cm, and 4 days ago we got 25cm. This is storm #4 in 8 days for us with total snowfall of close to a meter. Temperature is expected to drop to -25 Celsius tonight.

I wonder if I can transfer to the UK for the winter :P

I really hope it comes out this year because that video was just incredible! I finished most of Umbrella Chronicles last week but need to do the new episode with Wesker. It is quite a nice game and the arcade shooting does bring something new to the series.

Umbrella Chronicles is pretty good but it gets repetitive after an hour so I don't play it too often. I like how you revisit all the locations from previous games, but it's too bad that they didn't include anything from Resident Evil 4.

I also can't wait for Resident Evil 5. Resident Evil 4 on the Wii was really ZOMGtastic with the Wiimote aiming. I'm a bit afraid that Re5 can't be as good as Re4 because in my opinion that was the best game of the last decade. Going back from Wiimote aiming to using a controller is going to be a pain, unless they improve the controls. The controls could've been much better on the PS2 but Capcom didn't take advantage of the dual analog controls and instead it mimicked the Cube controls which has only 1 properly usable analog stick.

Oh well, even if the game is only half as good as Re4, it'll still be game of the year :)

I was just talking to a mate about it (res 5) today, it looks relly good and i can't wait for it. i'm liking how evrey year there is alot of titles which could by themselves be flagship titles.(well this year and last)

This year for example had: mass effect, bioshock, halo 3, cod4, pgr4, assassins creed, guitar hero (and rock band if u don't live in europe :( ) and i'm sure i've probley missed one or two.

next year : alan wake, res 5, gta 4, ninja gaiden, fable 2, fallout 3, DMC4, borderlands(this will be good no matter how unitrested u are), too human, alone in the dark,ect.

I'm sure there'll be a few disappiontments just like this year (personally blacksite had alot going for it when they released the 1st demo but just went downhill, for me anyway)

But still I am relly looking forward to this year for gaming. And i hope that there will see this alot more as on the xbox there used to be a few good games raley scatted about but most games were overatted.

You know at least with Call of Duty - each one is so different to each other. I skip between 3 & 4, - everyone knows how much I lived on CoD3 as I thought it was brilliant, but CoD4 makes it look total shit and I can't play more than 40 minutes a time.

Nah mate, halo 3 id agree, but at the time halo was new and it did things games had never done before and halo 2 got the online going and as before did things which had never been done before and brought gaming forward now there crap but when they 1st came out they were great

actually since u mentioned halo, I am very dissapointed that very few games have actually expanded there online games i personally think that games like halo 3 and cod4 have the right type of servers for creating matched teams i just wish that more games would follow their example im tired of the "quick ,custom, create match" way of gaming and although games like gears got it sort of right you couldn't play ranked with your freinds which puts so many gamers off online gaming cause their split between ranking and playing with thier freinds.

bare in mind i'm talking about the online system (not online gameplay) here so even those of you that hate halo will propbley agree its matchmaking system was great, although the way call of duty rewarded you for playing was better. id like to see a mix of the 2 or at least games having one or the other in terms of online play as i think it will encourge gamers to play more. mabye im worng but ya know thought id say my bit

Do you mean the stories in the games when you say that? The only game doing anything different is CoD4, the others are World War 1/2 games.

And Halo1,2 & 3 is still only one war

CoD2 & CoD3 are WWII stories but both play very differently in campaign. The Campaign to CoD3 is not even similar to CoD2. CoD2 kinda just puts you in different war situations where it felt to me CoD3 played out a story and it was easy to follow. Both versions of multiplayer are totally different and CoD3 graphically is better.

CoD4, yes new story and feels a bit CoD3 style story mode. Multiplayer is fantastic and again totally different from CoD2 & CoD3. Each game in the Call of Duty series feels individual.

The point I was making with Halo is that Halo3 feels a next-gen Halo2. Nothing all that different in multiplayer mode either. My opinion is that taking screenshots and recording yourself play a poor game - doesnt make it unique.

And whilst Im talking about Halo - I still need Chapters 8 & 9 finished in Legendary :( - and I can't remember who said CoD4 was full of kids, but I played yesterday and I don't think anyone other than me was older than 12 !!

You just ignore Forge. You might just say "Yeah, well...I don't really care about it." But for people who do tournaments and who will play this game for years, it's really a huge deal.

You say the video thing doesn't make it unique. Well, how many other shooters let you do this? It's one thing if you don't really care about it yourself, but of course you can maybe see why it could be awesome for other people.

This whole upgrade thing in Cod4 would be amazing if they didn't create this huge gap between psychotic players, and people who just go on once in a while to play to have fun.
