I can't download The Club and Kingdom Under Fire demos from the Marketplace because I get this message saying "This item is not available from your current location," which is weird because they are both there for Europe. Does this have to do with the fact I live in Slovenia and the service somehow recognizes and refuses my IP all of a sudden? But then again I had no problems getting the FIFA Street 3 and Turok demos ... This is the first time something like this happened to me :(. I'm asking because I don't want this to happen when the DMC 4 demo arrives :P

It's unusual but not uncommon. It happened to me a couple of times when I tried to download demos from the US Marketplace. I forget which ones. Is Xbox Live even launched in Slovenia officially?

Also have you tried setting your dashboard to different locales? That's a long shot, but worth a go.

No, Slovenia isn't on the offical list of Xbox Live regions :P. The 360 never "launched" here lol.

Well I've really set the cat amongst the pigeons at work. Not sure if anyone can remember me saying but I (because of needing a more sociable lifestyle) changed to a part time job with a media company. It's all admin work mostly, but I didn't declare not so much as even half of my accounting qualifications and experience when applying for the job because I know - I would have been deemed over qualified and they wouldn't have given me the job....

BUT

Today they put a job advert out for a Financial Controller 35hours per week which has come about because of the unexpected early retirement of the current Financial Controller. I have applied for this position, and if you can imagine a workplace where you are the underdog doing crappy phone calls, selling, data management and making sure sales figures match and then out of the blue you apply to be the sole company's Financial Controller !!! - It has left somewhat of a surprise and I have now provided evidence of my accounting skills, qualifications & experience.

All I can do now is wait and see...LOL, and even if I don't get it - it's not as if they can sack me from my current position either...I just happen to be the over qualified one which I doubt will leave me liked very much, but I'll keep everyone posted...

At first I felt a bit ashamed to come forward because I've only been there 2 weeks today ! but first and foremost my loyalty is to myself and it's still the same company afterall. I think you made the right decision too. It's a clear "what if" situation and if you hadn't done, you would've kept asking yourself whether you did the right thing. I know - I pondered over it and then I couldn't help but think that someone else is going to come in and apply for it with the same qualifications as me and Im downstairs doing 20hrs a week on shit pay whilst they would be sat in the building opposite doing 19hrs more than me, but the pay rate is 3 X higher because it's a skilled profession. But in applying for that position I've opened myself up to looking a liar !! :D we'll soon see as closing date is 25th January and at least they know me already. Im not fussed either way because I am really really happy to do 20hrs a week on crap pay because it's something different at the minute and it's all I assigned myself to do for this year.

I'm on the phone to a government agency as I type this.... I wish it was MI5 but alas at the 3rd attempt of transferring my call they still have not succeeded so I guess not?! Why is it that so many incompetent buggers have managed to get jobs in a customer facing environment where you would expect someone with some kind of knowledge on the other end of the phone?
If I have to listen to this Beep Beep for much longer I'm surely going to hang up and kill someone. Maybe that's the idea. Maybe they are just trying to keep the police and Prison service in a job? to top it all off I feel like shite and can't be bothered with this... Seeing £250 disappear from your wages every month is a bit annoying when it should be significantly less... Oh but it will all even itself out Mr Buchanan I get told. how the f**k that will happen when they have issues with using a telephone is a mystery to me? I have been blessed with optimism and refuse to let some blood sucker get the better of me.... I'm being made redundant... Chase that for money?! Ok so I thought seeing as I'm feeling as bit shit I would have a good old complain again!! having decided this, it would appear that complaining aint easy? I used to be able to rattle on about almost anything without a second thought but I am now finding it increasingly harder to randomly complain? I often worry that I have finally been broken by "the man", I have had my soul drained and am nothing but a shadow of my former complaining self? Although having said that I do seem to be finding it incredibly easy to complain about not being able to complain so there is hope, perhaps I just require inspiration.... Problem is, where do you go to get inspiration for complaining? I guess the best place is work but having worked in the same place for so long I'm fairly numb to the whole tedium of high priced mars bars and pointless meetings so that strikes that one of the list. Maybe I should stop complaining and write about things that I like instead but I don't think that would make interesting reading and it would definitely be the shortest rant known to man?! I think I have only one option left, to infiltrate ned society in a Macintyre investigates style.... I will soon be adorning myself with "trackie bottoms" and "sovvie rings" whilst wearing a cap on the back of my head with the brim pointed skyward ready to receive instruction form the gods! Before I can do this I must learn the ways of the loutish ned and the common phrases used such a "whut ur you lookin at" and "Gonnae gies a fag aff ye" in an effort to seamlessly blend with nedvilisation. This will not be without it's dangers obviously, as we all know that a ned drunk on buckfast has similar attributes to the American mountain lion, the common rule for both is NEVER make direct eye contact as this will be seen as a sign of aggression and a challenge to their dominance put this together with the constant chimpanzee like battles for ned supremacy in the chain of command I fear that I may not return once I have immersed myself into this Neanderthal society so keep your eyes open and if you see me in the street please cross the road, I will be unable to communicate openly with those outside nedvilisation so I will "chib ye" if I have to!!

Apologies to all of those who live outside Scotland as much of my rant will make little sense but believe me when I say there are some things you are better off never knowing about and Scottish ned (Non Educated Delinquent) culture is one such thing!! :D

It was surreal. Thats the only word I can think of that does it justice.

While I'm not going to be drawn on the gun debate (ho ho, what a pun), I would just say that the above statement isn't quite true.

Rewind back to Virginia Tech, that psycho strolled in and bought a gun in fifteen minutes, with no checks being made at all. He ticked one box saying he was mentally stable and viola, he had a gun to ruin the lives of over 30 people.

Of course the rules might have changed since then because of the incident, or the UK press reported wrongly, but that's what was said over here, so the three day wait certainly didn't appear to happen.

N+ has been completed ages ago, It has also passed certification. It should be hitting anytime soon. (Finger's Crossed)

I'm sure there has been another game in XBLA history that passed cert then at the last minute got delayed. I thought it was Worms, but perhaps not. Either way, there's a good chance there's a bug been found considering the email sent around weeks ago promised it to be here.

Those were the days! - I had one of the original mastersystems too, but changed it for MS II with Alex Kidd in Miracle world built inside...god I wish that game would come to Live Arcade.

I was so happy when I got to the end because I spent so many times trying to do that last puzzle after the final castle! I kept hitting the wrong button and then the ghost got me until I finally figured it out. :P
