but why do you prefer the ps3 pad over the 360's? the 360s pad is the main reason i like the console, its great for shooters and feel nicer ergonomically than the ps3's. the xboxlive and stuff is great, but honestly if ps3 had more games and the 360s controller i wouldnt give a rats ass which i had. not tryin to dig the playstation, im just interested in why you prefer the playstation pad.
is six-axis any good ? never even tryed it properly but my mate said its just a gimmick.

Yeah Six Axis is a gimmick, it hasn't really been implemented well in a game yet. And we still don't have rumble over here yet!

I used to love the PS2 pad, but since the 360 graced my life, there's no comparison; it really is the best pad aside from the NES.

I dont see the issue with buttons on PS/360 controllers, the only differences are triggers, which 90% of people prefer, the left analog stick and D-pad switch places, thats pretty much it, the buttons are layed out exactly the same apart from that, oh the 360 buttons are a little thicker and are callex A,B,X and Y over X, square, triangle and O, ohhh different names... Wow. And of course the 360 controller is heavier and meatier, which i think fits better in hand... Well it does in mine anyway.

I'm not saying the 360 and it's controller are shit. It's just I prefer the PS3 due to it having the exclusives that i've loved playing for years and the controller which I can use much better as it fits more in my hand. E.G if I was playing CoD4 on 360, i'd find it harder than on PS3. Plus the analogue sticks are different shaped and PS ones are sligtly bigger.

Those are all very valid reasons indeed. People that aren't really into any console specific titles (GT, Halo, MGS, Gears, God of War etc.) shouldn't have a problem a problem with either Xbox 360 or PS3.

I too used to think that the dualshock was the greatest controller ever and used to mock the original xbox controller for it's huge size, pressing the y button was a mission, but since i've had the 360 controller no other controller has felt as good. It's just the litle things with sixaxis that imo are not right. By now they should have swapped the left stick and d-pad around, and as i've said before the triggers just don't work as triggers for me. If they are to have them that shape then they should work more like how the gamecube shoulder buttons do, half an hour on motorstorm and my fingers can't take it anymore, having to push them so hard to stop them from sliding off. The lack of rumble doesn't matter greatly to me, but the weight of the 360 pad just feels better, more solid.

#1) Piña Colada and any other drink containing pineapples and coconut should be consumed in very small quantaties

I do not think is was just the games that are boring, but the controls are horrible. Anywho, it good that I had Hellboy for those long flights.

PS/ Not here to bash the PSP, but I think a DS would have been a better choice for a portable gaming system.

Portables are pretty crappy, but I need one for my flight to Florida so i'm probablys going to get a PSP, get a load of emulators, few games, a big memory card to fit some Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Scrubs, South Park, Metalocalypse and Robot Chicken on, and maybe a film or two and then hook it up to my Playstation Network account.

I discovered today that he had already pre-planned some of his own funeral because he met the vicar doing the service a few days before he died.

It was quite sad, but to have that many people attend your funeral is amazing- all in all was about 350, when the seats ran out everyone stood around the back and sides. The church made a point that it was the most people they'd ever seen inside it.

Yeah I had one which was totally useless, why would I want a free one month card when I pay for a yearly membership year in year out... some people get free controllers, some have accidentally had free HDD's... and some people get headsets.

LOL. I could remember most games, but after I passed the 150 mark, lot's of sports and racing games kind of blend into each other. So far I purchased NBA 2K7 twice by accident and Sega Revo Racing.

But since I have a browsable "list" with me at all times, I do not worry about mistakes. I also update this list to indicate which games are lent and to whom.

ps/ I am nearing my 200th retail Xbox 360 game. I am currently at 184. For reference at how many I purchase, Halo 3 Legendary Edition was my 100th game.

On the subject of the PSP custom firmware stuff, better do some reading on it before you purchase, all depends what firmware is installed when you get it, can't do the custom stuff with the newer models yet.

I had an old PSP and started trying to get my head round it all, but ended up upgrading it to the newer firmware which rendered it usless for the custom firmware until they found out how to crack it again.

Just a tip, wouldn't want you wasting your cash on an overpriced UMD player.

If I remember right (last time I checked anyway) you are laughing if you are before about 3.60.

Also, depending on where you are with the firmware version you may need to get your hands on a specific iteration of a game to allow the custom firmware to install, i'm sure GTA Liberty City Stories is used for some and Lumines for others (these are for the later editions of the firmware) if you manage to get yourself a PSP with 1.50 installed (whats the chances now though) then you don't need to use any games to get in to the guts of it.

It ain't straight forward though I was tearing my hair out trying to get it to work only to realise I had updated to the wrong firmware and rendered all my efforts usless.

I wasn't this gen because I didn't give PS3 the time of day because I was happy with my 360 when live was decent and so were the exclusives (This is all my opinion ofcourse) but I started playing my friends more and more and I just liked it a lot more, and the PS exclusives have always been better, I just thought I was content with the 360 ones.

To be fair I think the PS3 is now better than a 360. If I hadn't bought a console when I did in 2005 and had to pick one now, I'd choose PS3 over 360. The games are just the same, it plays Blu-Ray movies, it will soon have movie and tv downloads and has built in wireless. I think if PS3 & Xbox360 had been released at the same time and the PS3 wasn't so expensive like it was when I bought one, I think it would have been the most popular. Fortunately for MS it never happened...

For me now, theres no point me buying a PS3 game when I own a 360. I have had my PS3 a year now and still only the 2 games it came with and a few downloaded ones. But I have seen over 50 blu-ray movies now :P

CoD5 will be great in it's own way... just if you look at each developers versions seperately. Basically it's always 2 seperate war games with soldiers where Activision want to profilt more by calling someone elses war game with soldiers CoD also...

I have Treyarch's Call of Duty 2, & Infinity Wards Call of Duty 2 and Treyarch's version of CoD2 was amazing !! it was brilliant. CoD4 is by far the most amazing version and CoD5 can only beat it if it follows in pursuit of Halo3 with file sharing and map editing - it's the only way !!!

If treyarch lose the rights to make Call of Duty titles, then I want to see them make more seperate war games, then it will just be their own CoD's with different titles. I have to control tanks in call of duty multiplayer and IW just never put them in...

Well normally the postman doesn't come until after 10AM, so I had my alarm set for 9.45. Low and behold, he comes at fucking 9.20 so I miss out. Why they have to have vans and men on foot to deliver post is beyond me, as it turns out van man comes earlier. Now I gotta wait five hours to get it.

I never really played GTA but for thet 2nd one briefly at a friend's house which oddly I bumped into today after 2 years on the way to sainsburys. I actualy asked the lady at Sainsburys how much the game was which was the normal £39.97 retail price but I might get it after I get my group coursework today done and do a bit more study for exams in two weeks. I also never played Saint's row and only finished Crackdown but I was always more of a fantasy game type kind of player and right now Im playing something else on another console that you guys would laugh if I told you. :)

Also this might be really overdue but thanks for that funny picture message on xbox live ages ago.I better go to that group meeting otherwise I might not live to see another day but I think HMV sent special editions through special delivery if that is where you bought.

I definetly wish they would knock a bit more sometimes as I had to make a re delivery for a parcel twice which I missed it and had to go get it myself on an epic quest from where I live.The best part is on both times I found the card coming down for breakfast at around 8 30 am and they both said that he had tried to deliver at 9 20 am, so I had to deduct that it was a postman in his new time travelling post van. :P

But I dont really mind because they all work really hard and do a brilliant job of never losing anything that is within their control. I half expected a van to bring me this much famous game today somehow with everyone playing it and all this media blitz coming out of everywhere!You know maybe it could be an early gift from Santa Claus... :P



I cant believe my xbox 360 display just started giving me this rather perplexing moving dot display! Im sorry to ask but you guys are more experienced and was wondering if it happened to any of you? The xbox 360 works perfectly as I hear all the sound like when I put in the game and logging in but can only see those dots! I was thinking of maybe getting a new av cable but just wanted to really make sure it was that. :)

I just called Microsoft and they're picking my console up. I'm having way too many disc read errors with GTA. I'm not sure whether it's the game or my console, but I've had like 5 read errors in 25 minutes. I just told them it was rrod, and now they HAVE to send a bigger box this time so I can send my power supply with my console itself.

Is that any indication that I'll receive a new console?

I did have the RRoD and they request you don't send your power supply as it is nothing to do with that.

Yeah its dumb, on the bright side, after nearly a fucking month, MY CONSOLE CAME BACK THIS MORNING!!! Now i just gotta goto my mates house and get my copy of GTA back, and my HDTV should be back in a couple days, things are FINALLY looking up!!!:D

I get my fucking console back and it refuses to connect to live, my wireless adapter is stuck red, says its connected but wont connect to my wireless network, i connected to it manually, says its connected but still says its not connected on the live test, its fucking fucked!! What the hell is wrong?!?! MS said the wireless adapter and router should'nt be separated by walls or floors, but thats bullshit, its been fine with a perfect connected for 2 and a half fucking years, why fuck up now?! I'm going fucking insane, life fucking hates me. WHY WONT IT CONNECT?!?!

It really doesnt seem like a whole month has gone since it crashed but glad you got it and hope it stays working for ages.

As for mine still no stickers through the post but I got the xbox 360 packed up and ready to be sent off. I even got this HD Drive I got from amazon Germany for £13 and I won GTA 4 special edition on ebay yesterday so two things to try out whenever I get it back...
