Strangely there isn't an option for .WAV, I checked that already. I have every file type selected for the Zune.

werid not to have wav as a format! I had a similar issue with iTunes default type not working on my Creative Zen I might go back to iPod when they announce the next design hopefully next month :D Unless the Zune ever gets released here!

.wav is actually the format of songs on cds ... it's a terrible format for compression, and automatically converted when you import them to WMP or iTunes but quality is fine (obviously). WMP can have issues with some CDs ... but not iTunes. ;)

btw, toyota, Wo0t for college/NFL football (!=soccer). I'm going to be spending even less time with my XBOX now that football is underway.

Your Mam is partly right. That is a law that is commonly misunderstood by the public (I should know, I had to deal with a large irate number of the over the years).

What the law is that if that is the price the goods are marked at that is, when sold, the price the goods must be sold at otherwise you breach the rules on false marketing. (Paraphrased and in plain English but that is essentially it).

Your Mam's problem (and the same with a lot of other people) is not the rule itself but their interpretation of it, the important bit is "when sold". Shopkeepers/Retailers own their stock and have rights over who they sell to so if they want they can refuse sale altogether, remove the goods, rebrand the price and release to the public again. Only problem with that is that it can lead to bad press and word of mouth advertising so in a lot of cases they just accept the losses since if they don't in the long term it could be even more detrimental to their profits.

The other problem being that they have not accepted our money yet so they still have a get out clause, if they had took the money then they had accepted the transaction and there was no going back.

Still, can't hurt to try.

I'm using Google's Chrome at the mo, it's actually pretty cool. The UI is less clunky than Firefox since there's a lot less buttons on display. I think it's pretty funky myself, so I'm gunna give it a few days, see if there's an annoying thing I don't like that Firefox does better etc. If not, I might stick with Chrome.

OK guys, i got a question.
How many of you has had, or knows somebody who has had a problem with their 360 scratching discs? That dutch telly show had proof of the 360 damaging games with no movement to the console, and somebody in America has filed a lawsuit against M$ for the same reasons (but i don't know the outcome.) I seem to be among thousands of other pissed off gamers who have had no compo for dead games and barely adequate service for their dead console.
So, i have decided to contact my solicitor and i may take this to court. If anyone has more information about past lawsuits and their own woeful tales of games getting ruined let me know, what they're doing isn't right and probably isn't legal.
Ill let you know what happens..

I rang MS about this once, trying to get a free game as my console was knocked over, I thought I'd try it on. They basically told me that I was 100% lying, as all their tests have shown that the 360 does not scratch discs when stationary. They will argue that you moved it either when it was switched on or when it was off.

Don't waste your time with the legal battle, it'll cost you a lot for no gain at all.

Yeah all games have a 90 day guarantee period where you are entitled to a new disc if it breaks accidentally or other damage. Usually anything out of the 90 day period is £10 for a replacement.

I got a new Tigerwoods 06 game when that scratched for fuck all and I paid £10 for EA to replace NFS: Most Wanted when that scratched.

Honestly, you can get quite a bit from Microsoft with some patience and conviction.

I had the 360 on day one...two weeks later the hard drive started making a grinding noise. They made me send in the 360 with my hdd....3 days later they sent me a package telling me that because of my problems they were upgrading me to a Pro 360 free of charge....

There were two problems with this....

#1 I had a Pro to start with so this wasn't really a free upgrade

#2 They forgot to send me the hard drive

I called them up and they told me they would "get right on it"....

Long story short I had to wait almost 3 months, had to buy two memory cards, and ended up buying a new hard drive as well. They finally sent me the new hard drive after me contacting the BBB (Better Business Bureau) in the end I ended up getting PGR 3, PDZ, and 5,000 Microsoft points for free because of all of this.

So...it's not always a lost cause

Yea, I would rather have not had the 360 break down in the first place...and even then yea, I would have rather seen them work much better. Either way...IF someone gets into that position there is "hope" that you can get more out of it.

My new laptop battery turned up, plugged it in fully charged and my laptop still wont power on at all. When the battery was charging the led flashed orange which is normal, when it finished charging it goes green...I press power button, the led light goes out and nothing happens. Its now as if the laptop can't kickstart itself to power...

So I am still using this borrowed laptop and my harddrive is now stuck inside a crappy looking aluminium case attached to this laptop powered by using two USB ports at once. So at least I can carry on working with my files.

So seeing as the original problem is not a dead battery afterall, I have to return it and now somehow get my laptop off to the Tech Guys at PC world for a fucking check up.

Anyone else had problems like this before? I swear I fucking hate laptops now, been using nothing but laptops in the last 7yrs. I may consider a new PC now but I just hate being stuck in the one place with it...

Something similar happened to my daughter's laptop. However I was eventually able to get it to at least "boot" and I had to recover the system. It doesn't sound like you can even get yours to boot. You may have something wrong with the motherboard....ouch....

speaking of laptops...my toshiba i got prolly 2 years ago has decided it dont want to keep the wall charger pluged into the back of itself. its like the hole you plug the wall charger is wore out to were the plug wont even stay in there anymore. i can fiddle with it enough to were it will stay in long enough to do things when i get home but its pissin me off. i havnt had any problems with this one at all and the worst part is it wont charge the battery so i have to keep the wall charger pluged to it. has any body encountered that yet??

I heard all about this, recreating the big bang to find out more on dark matter. I don't think the world will end, but it would be funny if all it took was a 5bn man made machine. It may not even start-up ! just like my fucking laptop... which happens to be only 9 weeks out of its guarantee. Well I have just read at the moment that the Hadron's will be sent in one direction only until October when they will start colliding them to recreate the moments after the big bang. So we are all safe until October at least, but it stated even if a black hole was created it would be so small and just die out.

Yeah, black holes swallow everything, but not the ones they create. A black hole indeed is created when a dying star goes supernova and collapses. Or in other words implode. The compression creates lots of energy and mass till the mass' gravitational pull gets so strong that not even light can escape from its strength. You can calculate it with E=MC2. B). Energy = mass x (the speed of light times 2). You will notice that a large mass needs a lot of energy..

The black holes they (possibly) create in the LHC are so microscopically small that there is not enough mass nor energy to hold it together. It will collapse almost instantly..
but don't hold me on it. I'm no scientist :+ (and please correct me if i'm wrong, it's still early haha)

I been following this experiment ever since I watched a program on it on Horizon about a year ago. Stephen Hawking has said that the black holes would be too small to pose any sort of problem. If he says it's safe then I feel safe, he's like the most intelligent person on the planet isn't he?

They reckon the LHC won't be up to full speed until around October then will reach it's maximum efficiency by 2010. At the moment they are only firing in one direction so the particles are yet to collide.

"The first collisions are expected in around 30 days." Thats when you need to start panicking. LOL

The whole thing is really interested especially when you read about what they hope to achieve, like the origins of gravity and dark matter. We may all be riding around in flying cars by 2015 \o/

Sonme black holes have appeared to die out. Hawking supposed that they evaporated via radiation emminating from the black hole. So far the theory is untested, unobserved and not substantiated. Theoreticly, they disappear in a powerful burst of radiation energy. Since the radiation is Hawking Radiation no information (i.e. mass, energy, etc) about the "inside" of the BH is revealed in the proccess.

We know there are black holes. We know many of their characteristics. But we do not know very much about them. That would take close by observations, within 1 LY to learn enough to really KNOW, such as detecting unequivocally the Hawking radiation as it pops out past the event horizon.

Which is one of amny reasons we have this particle collider. We don't really understand the big bang, or black holes, but physisicists theorize that the big bang was the explosion of one massive black hole, where all the matter in the universe was folded in on itself then BANG!!!

The problem is the way the company operates is by giving you a £300 credit limit so when buying the game the money is taken from your credit, I have then cleared my credit account which they have reimbursed on to my account without clearing with me so my credit limit now stands at £311.98 or something (incl the p&p).

They will probably get away with it by I will make damn sure I cost their company at least as much as it would have cost them to just give it to me, by going through their formal complaint procedure using whatever regulatory body governs them.
