I've had it since it came out... - it went off the dashboard for about 3hrs, but I could then just use quick launch to play it...

Now though it's in full prominent position on Video Marketplace where I just press the start button and it loads?

Sky Player is pretty shit right now... if you have the Movies then it's good since you can just pick any of the 400+ films and instantly stream one using the on-demand Movies selection (and theres fucking loads)... but for some reason with the on-demand content you can't alter the streaming quality so you really need a good internet connection.

With Live TV you can choose low - high quality, with low quality actually not that bad! - but another odd thing is that Sky Player streaming content is no way near as amazing as the Zune Marketplace Streaming content. I can pick a film to rent on Zune and it just starts instantly and it auto picks the quality varying with connection - it's just 'PERFECT' whatever the software is behind Zune is great!!! Sky on the other hand streaming stuff pauses itself a lot to load in advance...

Another wonderful confusion is that you get the impression with certain wording and adverts that to watch Live TV you need Sky multiroom for almost £10 per month. Live TV is totally free for anyone with multiroom - but if you want the live tv thing then it is actually 'JUST' £5 per month from the xbox.skyplayer.com/subscriptions webpage

There aren't many good channels and nothing can be downloaded to your HDD... If you have Sky Movies and an outstanding good net service then it would be brilliant...otherwise its not as good as you would think...

Took a while for Sky player to appear for me also. More of a curiosity for me than a necessity, don't think I'll ever use it tbh, I don't have movies and that would seem to be the best thing about it at present.

Its crap!!! unless you have movies... and even then, the streaming isn't like how Zune Player does it flawlessly - Sky Player stops n starts to load..

All applications think they are games too, but with 0 of 0 Achievements. If you accidentally delete it because you have no achievements - then you are fucked for a little while - it dont work for ages.

Finally downloaded the Sky Player, and it seems my internet connection is just not good enough to cope. Haven't tried the Live player, but it couldn't even render the footy highlights without pausing and buffering. Added to the fact the quality is piss poor, this is something I won't be using.

Live Player is fine though - this was one of my complaints that I wish the streaming on-demand content could have quality selection. If you choose Live Player (you would have Sky News free anyway) then press LB to choose Low Quality, it streams pretty well...

For some reason the on-demand stuff is set at the highest quality rate for the best internet in the land...

Good Internet & Sky Movies then a winner...but I hate it now...it is fucking useless shit. I'm better off just choosing multi-room from Sky with a Sky Box which I am considering...

I was hoping to be able to buy football games etc seperate instead of an overpriced crap selection of channels. You dont even get sky1 for god sake???
if you are paying for sky player STOP!!! Pay roughly the same amount a month for a full sky subscription and a sky+ box or sky+hd.
unless ofcourse you cant recieve from a satellite.
A bonus with the sky player is that you arent tied to a subscription.

Iv been pondering getting sky+hd.
I would want the sports package and espn.
I would also want to get the movies to have access to the on demand on the xbox.
Roughly £60 a month though. Its a bit steep. Maybe a month or two of the sky player is a good way to decide whether you can justify getting a full sky package.

I have Sky HD, but I dont bother with movies since I pretty much see most of them months before they go on Sky.

I love Sky+ features recording, pausing straight from the box...and at the moment most content is not true HD on these HD channels, it's upscaled stuff. Best HD channels at the minute is Nat Geographic, Discovery & Sky1

Now I rarely comment about fighting games - but just played the Bayonetta Demo on Live and it is tremendously beautiful and scarily addictive!!! I was given a download code and Sega has done a fucking good job...

Im not saying its a good work place cause I dont know but for the money he will make esp. in todays economy I would even consider working there cept for the whole cross ocean travel thing. I just would expect there to be more ppl from the area who are more qualified for those positions (foreman by the way).

Yeah Britain does ok for itself, but we do like to give people outside of our country opportunities. I wouldnt mind more Americans and a little less Polish. I dont like the center of London - it's way too much of a hectic lifestyle compared to the outskirts of London.

I also dont know how people cope going on the London Underground Tube thingy. Im bad enough on a bus.

I'm 30 soon ( just over 4 months ) - and totally fine about it!! SHOCK!! but I've changed a lot in the time I've been here and appreciate everyone listening to me moan and what not. But my life is different from when I first joined here as part of a family business who did the occassional work on a TV show...

I've left that business now, the TV show has come to an end after 5yrs and as it stands today Im waiting to find out next week if I get the position of Business Development Executive for a large Production Company. Fingers crossed, but at the same time as a qualified accountant - there's always work out there somewhere :)

Most of those I have spoken to the most have me added on Xbox Live etc and stay in touch that way...

Yeah, its snows here. We get at least 3 solid dumps a year, plus flurries all winter long. Football in the snow is a beautiful thing, ain't it? No one wants to see a team relocated, least of all me. But if expansion isn't in the cards I see no other options. Either A: Ralph Wilson kicks the bucket and the estate sells the Bills asap or B: a small market team can no longer pay the bills.

I rented the God of War collection for PS3. I never got around to playing them for PS2, but I must say that I'm a huge fan right now. The remastered HD graphics are very nice and the game is just tons of fun. At this point I have not even finished GOD1 yet (hopefully this weekend), and then I will play the 2nd one. Part 3 should be amazing.

I won some MS Points today!! A redeem code was emailed to me, but sent to my junk/spam folder. It was for downloading the LG tv gamerpics some time ago which auto enters you into a comp. If you also downloaded LG gamerpics (cant even remember what they look like) but check your spam folders you could have some redeem codes each worth 200 MS points. I had 2 as had 1 on another tag, but I could redeem both codes to my main one.

Back to gaming, I haven't bought a game since MW2! It's been the first CoD game I've never got bored with constant play, yet it's been destroyed by glitchers who are pissing me off.

Because I didn't like the first Mass Effect Im not bothering with the 2nd - my next game is on it's way 'Burnout Paradise' for £7.50 :) it looks great.

I really want BadCompany2 also, but you just know GAME will drop the price after 3 or 4 weeks. The only games I buy on release day are Call of Duty, Gears & Halo

Yeah it turned up today... it looks great.

My console has this 'Open Tray' 'Close Tray' issues where it dont recognise any discs - but if I keep pushing the button repeatedly it does eventually read the disc after a while - anyone else have/had this issue?

There no RRoD, but my drive is had it I think.... :( it takes me a good 15 mins or more after the disc is in the console before it loads a game.

EDIT: found what causes the problem, the lens runs up & down on a small track to read the disc - when a disc is inserted the lens should be closer to the center of the disc - but with this error, the lens gets stuck on the track more towards the top part of the disc. My console is out of warranty & MS would charge me £90 for fixing this !! So I have bought an Xbox360 opener tool kit on ebay for £2 and will fix the bitch myself since its only a matter of moving the lens back down to the bottom of the track :(

Its getting stuck... when I finally managed to get Burnout Paradise started (which I must say is fantastic!!!) it stopped reading the disc, so I spent 20 mins getting the disc to recognise again so I could install to HDD.

Now I've taken the disc out to put MW2 in, I have to spend as long as it takes to try & get it reading that - seems that its a common problem when I googled 'xbox360 open tray error' & happening to more & more people. Some people have to have new disc drives replaced by MS for £90 since replacing them yourself is classed as modding & your console gets a Live ban.

This irritating disc drive error is more annoying than RRoD isnt it, because it tests your patience - & i'm out of warranty for the disc drive, but still covered by 3yr warranty for RRoD on this Elite bought Aug 2007. Damn (saying that) just realised if I open my console now - then I void warranty if I get RRoD before Aug 2010 :( I may buy an Arcade Console cheap and just slap my 120GB HDD on it...and somehow encourage my elite to burn out before August...

Burnout Paradise for £7.50 is the best thing I've bought in ages, I saw it on Games on Demand and was tempted to get it - but the download of it would have given me a stroke plus used games are much cheaper! When I finally managed to get it working there was a HUGE 1.20GB Update on this game & you couldnt play online without it. !!!

Also pre-ordered Halo Reach today, but desperately waiting to find out when the next CoD is out...praying Treyarch dont put Care Packages in it !

\o/ Hooray - my little 360 Opener tool came today, its only a little metal ruler looking thing & a Torx 8 & 10 screwdriver. Needed to follow & online guide to use it though to line up all the clips & correct screws to take out.

Spent 15 minutes opening it, used a vacuum to gently remove a LOT of dirt & dust, then took apart the DVD Drive, re-greased the lens track, cleaned the lens itself with a damp cotton bud, dried with the other end of it - put the whole lot back together and as of today (well right now) it reads all the discs fine, no more open tray error!!!!

To fix cost me £2 for the tools, MS wanted to charge £97 in total for the repair & drive replacement with an up to 10 day wait...

However if I get RRoD I am screwed since I voided my 3yr RRoD warranty which is up August or Sept this year

Thats what I thought, if it didnt work after my own attempt of getting into the dvd drive - I would have just bought new & then sold my Elite to a repair shop, many buy them for £70 and sell it on for much more after they do what they do to them ;)

Fractured and dented, how the fuck you dent a bone i don't know, in a cast for a week, then hopefully when that comes off i'll be able to actually bend my ankle so they can put the proper cast on which will stay on for another month... The only game I have bought since MW2 is a used copy of Burnout Paradise...

From what I can gather - he's been going on a ban spree on MW2 where most 10th Prestigers are getting suspended if he is in their game, and people who send out bulk 1600 for 10th Prestige Messages to all recent players get a full on console ban!

He was flaunting authority in online games and not even use a professional tone of voice. People were giving him abuse back because of the way he was talking to people in online games that they 'pay' MS to play...

The edited video would have got much more credit if they were totally honest and showed both sides. By editing it to just what he says, actually goes in his favour. I have come across 'The Pro' only on Xbox.com since he's a moderator - but regardless of who he is, if someone spoke to me in a bad tone online in the manner he did - yeah I'd probably shout back too - then mute him.

I havent seen it, but I do know it was only the NTSC version which was rare at only 10 copies ever made. The PAL version was made in its thousands...so at 40K I guess it is for an NTSC version otherwise the buyer has been screwed...

I dont have Global options enabled to make anyone's account Moderators. You can send a PM to Curry requesting to be made a Mod to delete Spam.

To delete a thread and ban them, you just have to click the box next to threads when viewing New Posts, then 'Delete Thread as Spam' option down bottom of the page...

Seeing you say that reminds me what I'm like with iPhone games. FFI and FFII hit the App store last week and are £5.49 each. Really, that's a steal. If I saw FFVII on sale for £5.49 I'd buy it instantly. But for some reason I just can't get the willpower to purchase these "expensive" £5 games, even though I'd enjoy them most probably. Something about having so many Apps for 59p or whatever makes these look super expensive when they are not. Very strange.

Yeah its quite good, I am pre-ordering this without a doubt!!! But I am still on my birthday holiday when its released. I like it a lot.

I wouldn't say it's addictive, and graphically I've seen it all before - kinda reminds me of Need for Speed Carbon, PGR with a little kick in it!

It doesnt come into its own until you can put on the Mods...

But I want it !!

Yeah many people have said about the handling, speed doesn't feel right, and turning of corners needs improving - but that's why it's a Beta and not a Demo :) loads are sharing their impressions on twitter, Activision & Xbox forums.

The excellently priced brand new James Bond 007 Quantum of Solace for £7.99 arrived today... put it in quickly since have an interview with Santander today - and so far I am impressed with the campaign. It is like a newer Goldeneye !!

It is well worth it, I had missed out on this game when it was first released, but its fun, not quite like CoD4 to look at (since it uses the same engine) CoD4 is graphically better - but I am impressed.

And it was cheap!!

Did he give you the code? The Blur Beta is fun, I wouldnt say impressive, but just fun and something different from a racing game. I am getting this when it comes out on retail, since it reminds me a little of NFS: Carbon, & PGR3 in places - and posting stats info on twitter is good!!

It is a nuisance, believe me - when they force you to look at ads, should at least be able to turn it off once you've seen it once or twice, but this is the same ad over & over again with everything I do...

LOL - well I dont think it could compare to London, but in the 80's it was a notorious street in Plymouth for drug, prostitution, other crimes. It's only a little place, but there was killings too, it was just awful place to live. The image now is MUCH improved cos its 30yrs on from when I first moved in there.

The only perception of London I have is 'The Bill' :D

I think you used to use more London slang in a sentence back then, than you do know or from when I heard you more recently... The stupidity over here is not any better, its amazing what children know and don't know. For that matter the adults also.

For instance at work the other day, I had people say some really stupid things. Such as

I am going to unthaw my chicken. (isn't unthawing, actually freezing it?)

Then we got some chicken wings in a box that was a larger size than normal. They responded "I think they put bigger pieces in so they don't have to put as many in the bag" Considering that both bags were ten lbs. it's the same amount no matter how big or small they are.

As bad as your internet can get - it prob is still better than any of the UK Broadband providers. I live quite rural and I honestly believe that I had quicker internet on dial-up in the early 2000's than what I have now.

Asked if I would cope with a computer, asked if I was ok at writing letters - never mind the 4 letters after my name, a previous intense 4yr Accounting Course...

Then asked me back for a 2nd interview and he will contact me later this week - in two minds to tell him 'fuck it' - me & my 1mm stubble dont need him as much as perhaps he thinks I do...
