Ok sorry to be posting this, but before the latest update it was possible to play any fully paid for XBLA games from any GT on the system you brought it on (confirmed here http://www.eurogamer.net/forum_thread_posts.php?thread_id=56777&forum_id=1) with the latest update that's been disabled! other GT's can see the download and play the trial version but who ever owns the GT will have to pay M$ to play the full game.
Just thought I'd let gamers know.

What about parents with X amount of tags for their kids, their gonna have to either let them use the parents account or have a silver GT to cover all the kids for arcade games and pay M$ twice for the priviledge of playing them. RIP OFF the games can be locked to GT/Machine ID and let all users of that machine play them, M$ just needs to record which machine ID it was downloaded on. (tho as I've had 4 machines in the last fortnight perhaps that's not the best way...)

Hmm this is weird shit? When I was in Sydney Major Nelson himself confirmed personally that it was a conscious decision to allow people access to Arcade games based both on their console serial # and their gamertag. Are you very sure this is no longer the case?

Did you not ask your Microsoft contact when you were talking to him?

I have to back up what Curry says.
We just did all the TCR circus for 'Mad Tracks' and it is specified that a complete game is linked to a system AND a GT. Thus abeling any GT to play the full game on the system it was first downloaded from.
I tried on our retail 360 (updated yesterday) here at the office and we can play d/l games with any GamerTags.
Maybe you want to try again...

For the most part when people start complaining about this problem, it's people who have had to return their 360 for repairs. Games you bought before sending it in were locked to your old 360 and as such on your new 360 only you can play them. If you buy a new xbla title, it should work fine. There have been some success stories about people complaining enough to MS about the problem that they delete it from your profile and give you the points to re buy it, but I haven't tried.

If you send them your console serial they should be able to fix it remotely without problems.

MS response: it is absolutely tied to Gamertag and box serial, no ETA on changing that policy whatsoever. If you get a refurb box, you will obviously have to be logged in with your gamertag to play.
Strange thing is, I did some testing with my refurb box. I bought Geometry Wars before it died obviously, and tried all situations with my own GT and my GF's:
- Not logged in: trial
- Me logged in: full
- GF logged in: trial
- Me logged in, network dead: trial (!!!!)
The fourth one really surprises me. That means in practice that when your 360 has died and you aren't permanently connected to the Internet (dialup users and perma-offline gamers) you're pretty much screwed with what you bought.
Cesar is following this up with support further to see whether they can actually fix it should there be a need to.

thanksLike I said: the game is linked to gamertag and console serial. So, as long as people play it on your 360, they get the full version, because the serial matches, no matter who is signed in.

I think they will fix it before launching the offline arcade pack

hmmmz did you register your 360 on your profile maybe that maikes a difference?
If you have live access and two controlers then you can still play the full games even after a swap.
Just login two the live account which brought the games with one controler, then login to the account that wants to play the games with the other and you can play the full versions.
So hopefuly your GF can play the xbla games on her account again :)
