Not much known about this game yet. Its gonna be old school GDI vs. Brotherhood of Nod.
I hope this game is gonna kick ass but Im affraid it is going to be a disapointment since all C&C games which I played on a console so far (this being the PS1) didnt really seem to work.

I will totally skip the console verion of this game and play it on the PC where it belongs. Previous strategy games sucked on consoles. And from what I've read LOTR:BFME2 has slow controls as well :P

I agree. Consoles and RTS dont really mix very well

I really hope this game is gonna rock.. If not on the console then I'll play it on my pc. It's bin a while since I've played good old GDI vs NOD. Spend many nights till 7.00am on these games _o_

I've heard the same reliable stories as Rival about LotR2 not living up to expectations, so I'm probably also going to keep my strategy gaming on my laptop regrettably :)
I'm going to check out the demo for sure though :)

I've heard some reliabe stories about the LoTR:BFME2 control which were positive :S. I'll see wether or not I'm going to buy C&C3 when I've played the LoTR demo, I've heard that the C&C devs are keeping a close eye on that game and its control scheme...

dune on the megadrive got the entire family into gaming and strategy games. I personally cant wait for this to come out.

Dune II on the Amiga cost me a few months of my life :) And Red Alert 2 in the computer rooms at university rocked too, although Carmaggedon was more popular on the LAN there :P

You mean Dune 2? The first ever strategy game as we all know them now.. It's a shame actually that I never played Dune 2.. Had a hell of a good time with the original Dune game on PC.. played it from beginning to end in about 20 hours straight.. The graphics were the best for a game back in the day.. Don't know if anyone else ever played it, but I liked it. I liked it allot.._o_

Lol Cage, I recently finished Dune (again) in about 3 hours :P But I have to admit that I've played it very often when I was younger. Dune 2 was awesome too, but it did have lots of sound bugs, and a very annoying starport bug :'(

3 hours? damnit! Hail to the king, baby _o_
Last time I played it was early ninetees somewhere, so it's bin a while haha. I do know that the planet was allmost half green when I finished it, so I guess I took it slow :P Maybe tonight I'll go and search for the 3½ inch disk with Dune on it and have another go..

Dune 2 was immense, but Starcraft was my fave RTS game ever.
Thing is, RTS games could feasably work amazingly well on the 360 with keyboard/mouse support, it just seems like it'll never happen, and that's a real real shame.
Imagine an XBLA version of C&C, in HD, with keyboard and mouse support. Real time chat as you construct a ring of Tesla Coils around your base and taunt the enemy! :D

...ring of Tesla Coils...
Flametowers ftw
I liked the sandbags :D Because in the first C&C there was a little bug that the computer could not get past them and was to stupid to shoot them, ergo you could close their base with some bags en create a massive army to inflict massive damage on them and win the game \o/

I used to spend hours and hours playing C&C, but the sequels never really did it for me. Especially Red Alert - thought that was the RTS equivalent of "Street Fighter 2 Hyper Alpha Turbo Mega Edition Volume 3" if you get my drift?
I liked the proper, old-skool GDI v NOD, none of this fannying around with Ruskies. ;)

You cheating urchin!
*grins*
My sure-fire tactic against my friend was to overload on infantry - I'd build little armies of about 300 machine gunners (with the occasional rocket/grenade trooper for variety) and just swarm their base. Thing is, individually, they were weak and pants, but in a group that large, all firing at once, they could take out any enemy vehicle in seconds with the possible exception of a harvester. The only vehicles I ever used were helicopters!

remember the little commando guy? And that sweet ass woman in red alert? they could place some TNT in the base and kill an enemy with one shot. _o_

They were cool, but useless against enemy vehicles. Good to have in a fast transport though, for some hit-and-run guerilla tactics.

That worked really well. I used that strategy a lot. Especially in Tiberiun Sun, where you had the underground APCs
