It isn't this way. You save in the restrooms when you take a piss. When you die, you start from your last save. The end.

...but if you save at a point when it's impossible to reach your next objective, THAT's when you're in trouble?

You can only have one savegame per gamertag but you can save multiple times throughout the game.

I'm realizing that the save feature is a little worse than I first thought, but it isn't as bad as the people are saying. If you paint yourself into a corner (because of time constraints), there's no way out since there's only one save.

I once had this bad experience with a game called 'Red Faction'. I was playing and my friend pushed the quicksave button by accident (according to him) just before a huge enemy blasted me to smithereens. I have no problem with the director, he worked on the show dark angel, and back in the day (couple years back :P) i used to watch quite a bit of that, and enjoyed it very much actually. And I don't think the writer will mess it up too much either, I don't see them changing the story completely from the games and books, especially with microsoft having a close eye over the project.

The game is difficult. You'll probably have to restart the story because of the only one save thing. Come on though, it's so damn fun to smash all those zombies to pieces. The good side having to restart to that as you probably already know, you'll start the game over with the level you got Frank West up to previously. Restart the game when you got Frank to level 23? You get to start the story over with a level 23 Frank. It isn't actually too bad. What other game does that? Plus, most of the achievements don't really have anything to do with the story, and as you probably don't care about that, it'll be a huge part to some other people. Once people realize this fact about how Capcom did this completely, they'll realize that it was a good decision.

I realize it's pretty annoying with the time constrants, but the game is too fun.

Oh yeah the leveling up is great and I'll play through it again or even a few more times. However, there are some gameplay choices that the creators made that seem to really mess things up if you're unaware or not careful you will lose a lot of game time and story. On the other hand again...the game is really fun and rewarding at times so the small frustrations are kind of made up for.

Jesus. Fighting against that ***** on that motorcycle was one helluva fight. You really have to THINK in this game. Think how to get the best weapons against enemies. Think how to plan your assault.

It's still a race against the clock... but it'such an achievement when you defeat bosses.

Cool, but the trouble is - with the way the game sounds like it is set out - there is little time therefore to induldge in the most enjoyable factor - which is simply to take your time annhiliating Zombies.

One other question, what sort of wrestling/hand to hand moves can you get in the later levels and how easy are they to pull off?

You can mod but Microsoft can still detect it at will. Hence the mod will very probably one day render your $400 game console into a $400 pressepapier.

Also, the mod only allows playing backups. Homebrew code is still a long time off.

And hey, there are always the independent retailers that will sell you the game early anyway.

I must be the biggest n00b on the planet 'cause I can't seem to get past Mr Carlito (or what's his name) with his uzi.. aargh!! Will try again tomorrow. Anyone got some tips or just want to call me a n00b? 8)7

One headshot with a sniper rifle does the job I think but since you can't get sniper rifles 'cause you're still a n00b (you asked for it :P) you just have to stick with the hand gun and keep trying. The game gets a whole lot tougher.

My advice to everyone of you euros who are getting the game this week ; ignore the story missions (scoops) until you've gained a fairly high level and know the ins and outs of the mall and the scoops... I'm not even bothering with them till I'm level 30 (LVL 21 now :)).

It's scary and it works on you're nerves especially if it's nighttime when all the zombies get even more aggressive. Imagine you being in some dark part of the mall with hordes of zombies everywhere you look while your last save game is a few hours ago. You'll want to do everything you can to hold on to those precious blocks on your healthbar so you don't have to start over. This game makes you curse, makes you sweat, makes you'll try as hard as you can. It might not be as scary as Condemned, it def. makes you anxious so in that way you could say that it resambles certain situations in Condemned.

Other then that; Condemned is a linear first person 'shooter' with weird junkies scaring you by doing unexpected things, this is an open ended third person GTA type Shaun of the Dead game so no; it doesn't compare to Condemned at all imo.

Its not scary! Or not that the part im in anyway, but I play the disc games very little in comparison to the arcade games. I've had condemned and king kong since December!! and still have little achievements. To me it is like playing how condemned should have been where you can see the character instead of two arms floating about the place.

People on another forum compared the games structure (starting over a couple of times cause you can't get it right the first time) to Groundhog Day and I say they're right. You just have to keep trying until you know the ins and outs of the mall and you're able to nail the story missions perfectly. Like in Groundhog Day where Murray had to relive his day time and time again until he got it right.

damn, something has fucked up. I saved my game etc. Had to quit while i ate my food. Came back into the game. The menu sees my saved game with kills, time etc. But when i load, it starts from the helo. Frank is even wearing the trainers and clothes i game him. WTF? anyone else have this problem?

Steve; prepare to restart a bunch of times, the game is made for that. I warned you. But restarting isn't that bad, you'll rush through the intro and you'll know what to do. Plus you get to keep your level which makes it even easier.

OK got the Pal release yesterday. Its really good, the save system is a little odd but nowhere near as bad as I was expecting and im happy with it.

Does anyone know if the PAL version had any improvements as I dont find the friendly NPC's are too bad (the ones that follow you)

PS a little tip for first time players, if you save when you die you will ONLY keep your character level and PP points, you will lose game progress, so stick to saving at the rest rooms and security centre and you will be fine.

Where do I start.....Ummmm well at the begining I guess. This game heralds the start of true "nextgen gaming". Quite simply the most spectacular game I've ever played. Dead rising has everything, High production values, drop dead good looking graphics, a compelling story, depth, interactivity writ large, superb design, an intense action packed pace...oh yeah and did I mention Zombies?(no).... acres of 'em and did I mention the hundreds of different means of dispatching these undead hoards?(again no¬_¬). Well sure you knew all this already you have more than likely played the demo(which was a damn fine demo btw). But as Capcom states when demo finishes. The demo gives a mere glimpse as to what the full game has in store.
I think that if you own a 360 this is essential, a must have on par with GRAW or Oblivion. There is not a single game out there right now comes close to the levels of cool DR acheives period. I urge you if you only buy one 360 game in the next month make it this one because thats why you own a kickass console so you can play super hot games like DR. If you don't own a 360 this is another big reason to own one. Now excuse me I have to mow my lawn(of Zombies!! :D )

10k go nino whooo! I was almost on 700(I only got it yesterday) but then I died now its back to just under 500. lvl 10 tho so i'm 1 5th of the way to the lvl 50 achvmnt. Coolest weapon I've used so far is the excavator(spinning zombies 'o death :D ). Favourite moment so far battling the crazy manager of the supermarket on the medicine run that scene was first class and funny too, number of people rescued 10. most used weapon hunting knife.
I did manage to use the camera on a cut scene at one point tho I havnt managed to do it again I wonder if its a bug/exploit??!.
I'm gonna leave it for few hours and go back to it. I've got two saves one before "the truth has vanished mission failed" message and one after. I made the mistake of answering the damn phone and accepting too many missions at once(doh! :? ). Right I'm off to write a song about zombies, I'll post it later if its anygood.

I emptied an Uzi clip on him and gave him 2 blows with a sledgehammer. Just watch out for his bombs when you're stalking him.
